Dell :: Inspiron 1750 Wireless Not Able To Connect?
May 8, 2013Can not connect my Dell Inspiron 1750 to wireless internet. Have 3 other devices that use my wireless with no problems.
It used to work but began to fail sporadically. Has not worked for a year.
checked for updates. Drivers supposedly are up to date.

Oct 24, 2012I had to reinstall Windows but upon reinstallation, I noticed that wireless does not connect. I tried pressing Fn +F2. Nothing. No LED light for wireless.
First I started the WLAN AutoConfig service under services.msc. After starting/enabling this service - nothing.
I searched the forum and found a post for Quickset. I followed the instructions given and restarted. When I press Fn+F2 the screen flashes the wifi symbol and my wifi LED comes on. However, when I go to connect to a wireless network - none can be found (I have connected to this network before and know that it works). I searched support and navigated to Manage Wireless Networks. I click on the Add button and get the following message:Windows cannot detect any wireless network interfaces.

Dec 30, 2012I'm at my wits end on trying to get my n4010 inspiron to connect wirelessly. It was working about two weeks ago but now will not work
1. I've upgraded by bios to version A13
2. I've checked in the bios advanced tap to ensure the wireless was enabled, it is
3. Device manger says the drivers are up to date and the device is working properly, driver version 5.60.48.35
4. System info says the wireless adapter is disabled
5. wireless key F2 has no impact on the status

Mar 27, 2013Ive had this computer for 2 years now. Last night the wireless randomly shut off, so i just figured it was the internet. But when i tried to connect to a different internet, i noticed that it said my wireless was off. So i figured that i just bumped the wireless button. I went to go turn it on again, but it will not turn on. I've tried hitting the button many times including using the Fn key. I can hardwire using Ethernet cable and it works, but my wireless does not. I have Windows 8 and have had it since it came out, so i know its not that. My drivers are all up to date and i have tried system restore.

Oct 16, 2011i have a dell inspiron 8600 running windows xp. the issue is it will let me connect to other wireless networks but not mine. i try to connect to mine , i enter my metwork key and it says please wait while windows connects. then after 30 seconds or so the box goes away and under connections mine is listed and says automatic but i am not connected. i have tried everything, even manually setting up network and entering network key and still nothing. oh n i know it isnt my router because i have another laptop connected to this network already and works fine

Jan 9, 2013I have an Asus Dual-Band Wireless-N (RT-N56U) that has worked wonderfully with my other 5 computers.Both the 2.4 ghz and the 5 ghz appear and connect as they should with my other computers.However, after purchasing my Dell Inspiron 17R Special Edition this year (Windows 8 comes preinstalled), I can see only the 2.4 ghz in the available wireless network lists. No matter what I do, I cannot see the 5 ghz wireless band connection with the Dell. May 6, 2012but having trouble connecting wirelessly to the internet from my Inspiron 1420. I can see my routernetwork and the signal strength is good, but when I try to connect it says that it cannot connect. When I press connect diagnose problem it quickly opens a small window stating that windows could not connect to "Kat-wifi" (my network. I have tried rebooting the computer as well as rebooting the router by uplugging and waiting the 30 sec to 1 min and then retrying but to no avail. When I connect the computer to an ethernet cable I AM able to connect to the interent. I even atempted to manually run a test with the wireless and it passed everything except the PING test. it stated NO RESPONSE DHCP SERVER. I tried then to go to the screen of Wireless Network Conenction Properties and checked the IP Version 4 (TCP/IPv4 and both the obtain IP address and Obtain DNS server automatically are already on.

Nov 15, 2011I have an Inspiron 6000 (inherited from my kids). It worked great for a while, at home or on the road whenever I needed to connect to the internet via a wi-fi hotspot, until recently. I can still connect at home (wireless) automatically, but outside of the house, I can't get any wireless connection.

My home network is now open and unencrypted (running G), but it still wont connect. However, I installed a USB wireless adapter, and I can connect without issue. So I dont think its a firewall, etc. I think its something with the built in adapter...
After checking out the device manager, it looks like the laptops using a "DW1501 WLAN Half-Mini Card". I went to the downloads page through dell.com to update my drivers, but Im still having issues.Im running Windows 7 64 bit.

Nov 20, 2009I am having problems connecting to the internet. I've tried changing my security from WPA to WEP and back again. I've searched these forums for a solution and nothing has worked. I've changed my antenna output to Aux from Auto as one thread suggested, but no luck.
For a time, I could connect to my wireless BT Home Hub 2, but the range was pathetic (about 4 metres). I've tried connecting to my partners home wireless connection, and again, same problem. Now the connection is virtually nothing. If I am lucky enough to get a connection then it will be poor and usually fail within 2 minutes.
I've had my Dell Inspiron Mini 10v for nearly 3 months now. I wish I was brave enough to return it when I had the chance.People have commented that this could be a known issue. I don't know what the problem is. I've spoken to IT bods my office and nobody seems to know.

Computer is auto-updated by Windows, McAfee, Secunia, and frequently checked with System Mechanic, McAfee, Lavasoft, MalwareBytes. One of the auto updates may have been interrrupted.Says Wireless adapter "not present"...Does not recognize wireless in the area. Try to "repair" adapter, but message says adapter not present.I then use System Restore to 4 day earlier date and laptop connects immediately. I see a new symbol "Local Area connection on Actiontec m1000 has been added in the Network Connection window, and the Wireless Network Connection says it is connected to the correct network that has worked fine for several years.I have several Windows updates for the Malware Tool that install immediately if I reboot, but then I cannot connect to the network and have to use System Restore (which is taking longer and longer to restore...appx 1.5 hrs now).

When ever I open the lid to the laptop it takes 5-10 mins before it will automatically connect to a network. Diagnose this network does not find anything, nor provides any troubleshooting. Typically if I open the network connections center and disable the wireless, let it sit for 30 secs or so, and re-enable, it will finally connect.
I know it's not my router, as the laptop does the same thing at work, and multiple different friends house.
I've confirmed that DHCP is set to automatic connect. I've also checked Device Manager/Network adapters/ and unchecked the box "allow the computer to turn off this device to save power"

The instructions are very simple, handy for me as I am not the sharpest tool in the shed when it comes to computers.So I've never used my wi-fi before. I know there is a button on the right hand side I need to slide forward to turn the wi-fi on. When I do this the computer makes a 'ping' noise, I assume it is acknowleding the Wi-fi is on? However, the button doesn't stay forward it sits in the middle. The wi-fi light doesn't appear to change either.

Feb 1, 2013My laptop is dell inspiron N5010 and I have win 7 64bit home edition , I had a virus called win32.sality or something like that , that made all my program stop working , O downloaded an antivirus , and some message asked me to activate some kind of firewall and I presses ok , the wireless network changed to limited connectivity , I tried to reinstall the wireless driver , nothing happened , later , the available wireless networks disappeared , so I connected the network cable to connect to the internet using ethernet , it didn't work as well , and after many trials with the wireless drive , it's name doesn't appear now in the device manager , it says network adapter and has a yellow ! next to it , there is also something called realtek pcie fe family controller and it also have a yellow ! next to it , so I tried a usb broadband stick to connect to the internet that should have nothing to do with any drives , it said that the connection can't be established
the network troubleshooting sais that there could be a problem with the realtek pcie fe family controller drive , and it used to say before that there is a problem with the (intel ...) which is the wireless adapter (but i don't remember its full name)

I just moved to a new house so I deleted all old networks and tried to connect to the new wifi, which works on my roomates laptop and on my iPhone. I click connect and it says waiting for connection and then prompts me with "windows is unable to connect to the selected network. The network may no longer be in range. " but tjis network is at full strength and at the top of my networks in range list.
