I have a Linux OS running here with a broadband DSL connection. Everything here is okay. A friend of mine has a 3G modem with a slow connection (I don't know the exact speed - near dial-up).
Well, I was thinking of setting up a VPN between mine and his PC, using Hamachi. I read on LogMeIn Hamachi website (while logged in) in a page to set up a VPN, where there are three types of network:
Mesh Network In a mesh network, every member is connected to every other member. It is a typical choice when it's essential to reach every member of the network.
e've been using Connectify to share the internet connection in our house and it was working beautifully, then it stopped after we upgraded to pro but now it's working again. I'm using a windows xp and my sister is using windows 7. We were both connected to the wireless network but none of the computers could get on the internet; so I restarted my mom's laptop (which is the hotspot) and my sis's laptop started browsing but mine didn't and it's still not browsing. And when i check the wireless status it says "Sending 786 packets, receiving 5 packets"
I have 2 ethernet cards (1 on board & another PCI ), 1 switch & 1 static ip to connet my broadband connection. I connected the broadband cable to onboard ethernet & configured the ip,subnet mask, gateway, DNS1 & DNS2. Internet connection was established. I also established an another cable between PCI ethernet card and switch. I configured the 2nd card to ip 192.168.1.1 . But when I tried to share a connection, my internet stopped to work.
I want to share the PPPOE internet connection between my Desktop and Laptop. The desktop has WIN7 and laptop has Win Vista. the desktop is having 2 LAN Cards.
new laptop running windows 7 home premium? i connect to the internet using mobile broadband device which works fine but i have been trying for a week now to share that connect with my local area network connection to access my ps3 (as i did with xp) to no success. 1st the LAN states that is is an "unidentified network: so when i tried to set up internet connection sharing, it would say that the wimax network adapter was "shared" but there would be no internet or network access though LAN. now i cannot even start ics as i am getting an error message that states "an error occurred while Internet Connection Settings was being enabled (null)..
my system an emachine e350 wouldnt share wireless connection to other computers but can receive perfectly well.when i try to set up an adhoc network,it does not show me turn on internet connection sharing,so when other computers try to connect,it just shows they re connected only on my system but not on the other ones and they cant access the internet also.the network discovery too wont stay on, every time i turn it on and save changes it goes back to off.
i want to share my internet connection in LAN. i have windows 7 in my system, and in my LAN PC having both XP-SP2 & Win7. I have a Teracom ADSL router (4Port) & D-link 8 Port Switch. i want to share my connection like this :
Router --->My Computer (Host)----> Then other computer in the LAN.
I'm having 3 desktop computers. Out of these three, one PC (PC1, windows7) is connected to internet modem and other two (PC2 with XP,PC3 with XP) are sharing internet connection.
In PC1 I've installed Hamachi Logme In (virtual network). This software also creates one "Hamachi Network Interface" in "Network connections".The Problem is that each time I start/reboot PC1, I get connected to other 2 PCs but can't share internet connection, until I toggle (enable/disable) the state of "Hamachi Network Interface"
(PC1 is at some distance with PC2 and PC3, and each time I need to remotely login to PC1 and toggle Hamachi network in order to access internet).
I am using a Belkin router with my laptop (Vista). What I would like to do is connect my desktop machine, also Vista to the router. THe Belkin has 4 ethernet ports in addition to the modem port. So far I have been unable to succeed in making a connection. I am going to get a USB adaptor, but am looking for an interem solution
I am a novice to networking. I have a Internet Modem in the basement and two floors of computers. Each floor has its own wired ethernet network that has one wire in the middle of the network reaching down to the basement. The whole building wants to share the internet connection. What devices do you suggest for the basement and for each "hub" on the other floors?Originally we planned to put a router in the basement and share a wifi signal and put an ethernet switch on each floor. But the wifi in the basement has less range than placing the wifi on the top floor. I was contemplating puting a wired router in the basement and a wireless router on the top floor. Will that work?If not we could have wireless routers on each floor, but will they cause interference with each other? Can one be set in the basement to operate on one channel, while the other set on the top floor to operate on another channel?
I have a laptop1 which has its two interfaces ( wired and wireless ) working. And have another laptop (laptop2) for which only wired interface works.
I am planning to connect the two wired interfaces such that laptop2 can connect to internet through the wireless interface of laptop1. How to achieve this? Both systems use Ubuntu 10.04 Desktop edition
I have a USB modem connection, and i want to share the connection with two computers and three wireless devices through a sky router. The system OS is Windows 7
I have a cable internet connection in win-7 PC,I need to share this internet to a windows 8 laptop.I'm looking for cheap solution( so not going for WiFi routers)how to use ICS(internet connection share) in windows 8 can I fix it with a network switch?[URL]
We recently switched from Centennial aircard to Verizon aircard (USB760) for our laptop. We have two user accounts on our windows 7 pc. With Centennial we could switch between user accounts without closing sierra wireless manager but when I switch to another user now, a message comes up saying vzaccess manager running in another account and we cannot use the internet until we have shut it down in the account it is running in - which is a pain. I have tried right clicking vzaccess manager in all programs and it does not have a share option. I also went to properties under vzaccess manager and found a setting to share and set it up but it still will not share
where all the rooms have a single internet connection. Apparently, we aren't allowed to connect more than one network device at a time and the MAC address of the device is registered. I know that setting up a router won't probably work, but what if I use a hub or switch? According to my limited knowledge, these are a little less intelligent devices that could make this doable, but how?...Or could I maybe connect to internet through the main PC?? I really want to connect another laptop in my room..
How can I share a dial up VPN Broad band internet connection over wifi i want to share this dial up connection at my laptop over wifi what necessary hardware require to share internet wireless at my laptop.
Im having a ACT Broadband internet connection, he provides internet connection through a wire which runs into my room that can be directly connected to the my computers NIC. Whenever i switch on my computer and opens the browser it first redirects to the page url... where it asks for Username & Password, our ISP gives us a IP Address which displays on the web page after logging in.I want the internet connection to be shared with my roommates so i bought a 8 port Ethernet switch (url..), which is having a uplink port also. I have connected the wire given by the ISP to the up link port of the switch & i connected my PC to one port of the switch with another network cable. I also connected my friends PC to second port of switch with another network cable, my problem is that when i sign into my ISP web page and start using the internet & my friend also wants internet in his PC & when he opens the browser the ISP's webpage is appearing and when he sign's in internet is disconnecting in my Pc. I tried to change the IP but as a default IP is given by the ISP if change the IP internet is not working.
I have a CDMA compatible modem which connects to my Desktop PC via USB.it works fine, but I'd like to share my internet connection with another Laptop, Wirelessly via a Router. The router connects to my Pc via Lan cable. I activated Internet Connection Sharing in the properties of my modem and connected it to the Internet.I hoped my Router would detect an Internet connection on My network and would enable internet connectivity on My wireless AP on the Router. But it didnt. is that windows refelcts "internet access" on both the actual Wireless network on my Router ("49 network") , and on both the Physical Connection to my pc via the Ethernet port ("3G Router") my laptop connects to the router, but without access to the internet, and I keep getting an 'unable to resolve host' message in my Browser. Suspecting my Router of somehow causing the problem I also tried setting up an Ad hoc network instead (using my wlan card to interface with the Laptop directly). They connect fine, and my Printers and other shared resources all appear, but the wireless range between them is like bluetooth compared to the great range of my router.& I still cant manage to share an Internet connection between the two machines!
We just built a new shop and are trying to get wireless throughout the whole thing. However the situation is unique.
The internet connection is actually a large area wireless connection. It is provided by DTN. Basically we have a dish type of thing on top the shop that picks up internet from a transmitter about 3 miles away. There is a large cable that goes from the dish into a Cisco 350 Wireless card in the computer.

We are given a static IP address from the company which is in the 10.1.x.x range. What my original plan was to use ICS to share the DTN connection to a wireless router that is connected to the LAN port of the host computer. However ICS only works for the 192.168.0.1 ip address. We have to use the 10.1.x.x IP that we were given, that cannot be change. So because of this ICS does not seem like it will not work, unless there is a 3rd party tool that can used.
Also anytime that I enable the LAN port on the computer now that the router is plugged in, the internet drops off. it looks like the computer is defaulting to the LAN connection instead of teh DTN connection (which shows up as a wireless connection to XP). Is there anyway to stop this from happening?
Other notes: Computer: It is a Core2Duo running windows XP Pro.
Also are there any routers that can be purchased that can use a wireless connection input for the LAN connection?
My question is how can i turn this adapter that i get internet from for my desktop INTO wifi so i can use my tablet?right now the desktop is the only computer with internet since it has an adapter.what do i need to make a WIFI signal from the computer? is there a usb stick or router i can buy?
I have a 4G/LTE Sierra Wireless Aircard to provides great internet connection to my Windows 7 laptop.I would like to share that internet connection for other mobile devices (Playbook, iPad, etc.). Can I use my Linksys BEFW11S4 router to share that connection?
I am currently connecting my PC to a mobile phone as a Wireless Access Point to give that PC access the internet. I also have a small home network, with one other PC and a Game Console. I own a Linksys E900 Wireless-N300 Router. My problem is this. How do I share that internet connection with the rest of the home network? To the best of my knowledge its not possible to connect my mobile phone directly to my Linksys E900 Wireless-N300 Router.
So my alternative idea is to connect to the internet via one PC, set up that internet connection as "Shared." and then allow the other devices on the home network to connect thru this. My question is how do I set up my Linksys E900 Wireless-N300 Router to allow my other PC and game console connect to the internet? Bridge Mode? PPPoE?
I'm trying to share my internet connection to another PC via wireless device.Which technique can i use for it.Topo:-Internet <-> PC(A) <--> WD (B) <--> WD (C) <--> PC(D)PC = Windows XP (OS)WD = Wireless device Access Point / BridgeIn the above topology, i need to share my internet connection from (A) PC to (B) PC through wireless device, I have plan to establish the internet sharing between two PC, In which mode Access Point/ Bridge mode is adequate for this wireless device to make connection and internet sharing between the PC
I recently built my gaming PC and everything works great. Except for when i try to use my wifi. Usually my wifi is really fast, but recently its been really slow or not even detecting my network. I tried disconnecting my modem and router but it still had no effect on the performance of my WiFi.
