Linksys Wireless Adapters :: Can't Update Drivers For WMP300N

Oct 12, 2011

I'm having my system lock up / freeze, my OS is win7 64.

The drivers that came on the cd just locked my computer within 1-5 minute intervalls. The driver (Ver.1.1.00.018) I downloaded from [url]... just pushes up the that time with about 30 minutes. Then there's the Ver.8.0.0.162 that explicity says it adds win7 support but I can't update my drivers, it only tells me that I'm already using the latest version, which I'm certain I don't.

Linksys Wireless Adapters :: WMP300N V2 Drivers Not Digitally Signed

Apr 27, 2012

Yesterday I contacted live support with the problem that my network driver is crashing and giving me BSODs because of this when my download speed reaches above 5.5MBps.[url]...When I try to install those drivers, I first get a warning that the drivers aren't signed. I press "Continue" to dismiss the message but still at the end it fails to install and gives me the message "The drivers can not be loaded because they are not digitally signed", leaving you with a useless device.I bypassed the check windows is doing by turning off the check by running Windows in "Test Mode". I have test-signed the drivers myself that allowed me to install them. Now my device is working and not giving me BSODs anymore.

What I want is the drivers to be digitally signed by linksys/cisco. I think it's very unprofessional to distribute unsigned/useless drivers to customers. I am lucky that I am somewhat more experienced with this stuff, but what about people that are not? I think everybody should be able to install the latest drivers without any problems, without the need to hack into windows.I hope to see new drivers soon, or the same drivers but then digitally signed so I can turn off "Test Mode" again removing this ugly watermark in the bottom right corner.

Linksys Wireless Adapters :: WMP300N Constant Reboot Out Of Warranty?

Dec 19, 2011

I just attempted to install a brand new WMP300N, and when I give the system power, it continually reboots every 15-20 seconds.  The BIOS never logs a problem, so I suspect that the system resets during the POST. I initially suspected a power supply problem, even though I have a 900w power supply.  Pulling the card allows the system  to boot normally, but after removing power from all drives (ssd, hdd, and dvd),switching to onboard video and pulling my pci-e video card, the system still will not POST, and continually reboots.

I've had this card sitting new in the packaging for a while now (at least a year) and I'm sure I no longer have the receipt. Is there any way for me to attempt an RMA on this card, or am I out of luck for waiting so long to actually open it?

Linksys Wireless Adapters :: WMP300N Couldn't Get WAN IP Address From ISP's Cable Modem

Jan 12, 2012

there could be complications, but it appears the WPM300N is 'bad'?my wife's computer (XP SP3) recently started freezing at random times. Once while surfing she got a BSOD. The last few days it had gotten much worse, sometimes the freeze occuring during the boot process, and again at random points.

What I tried was determing all new s/w installs and deleting them still didn't fix the problem. Next I used some Norton Ghost back-ups restoration from the time period she had the freezes... still was freezing. Next an image from long ago and it still froze. Got me thinking it was h/w related. She has a wireless mouse and keyboard. Put in wired units, still froze.

A few days ago my router died. It couldn't get a WAN IP Address from the ISP's cable modem. ISP verified the modem was working by having me attach directly to it one of my wired computers. This router was a new (2 months old) ASUS RT-N56U. I put back my old LinkSys WRT600N. In doing so I had to change the passphrase. This turned out to be a big assist to me determining what went wrong.

On each of the restores of an image, the system never froze, not until I connected to the router by giving the proper passphrase, but usually after that. When it happened (I did multiple image restores) when I was in Safe Mode with Network as it was connecting, the implication was clear it was the WMP300N.

As luck would have it, I had another card taken out of my old computer. Put that card in and so far, he computer has NOT frozen up. I've restored all the deleted items and Windows Updates and all other Updates (Norton ISS, Flash, Adobe) and it is running fine.

Linksys Wireless Adapters :: WMP300N No Power Management Tab Came Up In Its Properties Menu

May 10, 2009

I did a clean install of Windows 7 64-Bit the other day.  I installed all drivers that came with my PC's Hardware, all went smooth.  INCLUDING: Installing the original Linksys WMP300N Software/Driver Disc.  I'm not sure how it installed, since i have a 64-Bit OS.  It says that "This device is working properly", although no "Power Managment" tab came up in its Properties Menu.  I had to manually go to the Registry Editor and turn off Some "Power Saving Features", like it auto-turning off.  That's all i did an i'v had NO problems with it.   Although, I don't use the software, and never have, i prefer Microsofts. I'v also got a second PC with a different Linksys adapter(Non PCI One)working great on 32-Bit Win7.  How to get it to work on Windows 7?

Linksys Wireless Adapters :: WMP300N Fixed Drivers Windows 7 32 / 64 Bits

Aug 3, 2012

who had a WMP300N with the Broadcom 4329 chip (PCIVEN_14E4&DEV_4329&SUBSYS_00601737&REV_01)Since i got my WMP300N all that i got is a really a big headache, since the drivers DOESN'T are meant for Win 7 (x86/x64), and the guys at Cisco/Linksys really are so kind to bring an unstable driver (v6.100) that they claim is for win 7.

i, as same as a ton of users, really get dissapointed because the driver in the cd does not work on win 7 and the 'official updated driver' is useless as well, and in the end lost a lot of time searching almost in the entire internet for a solution, that some pages claim to have, but the info is oudated, or the links are gone.so in a insurmountable-almost-titanic search, i somehow managed to gather all the required files that i'll put at disposition of those like me have a bad time with a supposed to be a pretty good wireless card.

1- bmc 4329 v4.100, this one is the most 'stable' and works pretty well in 32/64bits, it had a modded .inf wich enables a few features that various users will find pretty useful, when the installer prompts a warning about an unsigned driver, you had to allow the installation

2- bmc 4329 5.100, this one is working too on 32/64 bits, i'm posting it because some people got problems with the 4.100 version, however, the 5.100 is a stock unmodded driver, so maybe it will give connection issues.

Linksys Wireless Adapters :: WMP600n PCi Adapter Does Not Reconnect

Jan 20, 2012

I have a Linksys wireless WMP600n PCi adapter installed in my desktop PC and after recovering from standby, it does not automatically reconnect.  I have to right-click on the Wireless Networks icon in the system tray then select "Repair".  I would say it does this 9 times out of 10 (1 time in 10 I seem to luck out and it restores the connection automatically).

I have an Asus M4A88TD-M motherboard with 1 Gb of DDR3 RAM and I am running Windows XP Home Edition (SP3).  There is only one PCi slot on this motherboard.  Also, I am not using the wireless network software that shipped with the product but rather the native wireless networks application software that shipped with Windows XP.  I have had this problem with the original driver that shipped with the product CD and the problem persists with the latest driver.  I have not enabled Hibernation and there are no active power saving modes on the PC.I have reviewed all of the options in the Wireless 600n Properties/Advanced tab and have enabled the Continuously Awake Mode and disabled the Power Saving Mode but  the problem persists.

I have two other PCs with the older Linksys wireless WMP300n PCi adapters and they do not exhibit this behaviour after recovering from standby - they reliably reconnect.

Linksys Wireless Adapters :: WMP600N Unstable And Weak Connection

Dec 20, 2009

I bought the WMP600N because Linksys and Microsoft listed it as 'compatible' for Windows 7 x64. My experience:

- unstable and weak connection
- pings to websites like google.com drops, average: 1 out of 3
- low signal, on the same spot my three years old HP-laptop with 'a build in wireless card' has full signal strength in Windows 7
- it works well under Windows XP (32 bit)

I am convinced that drivers for the WMP600N are not ready for Window 7 x64. Linksys (or Ralink, which developed the chipset), release a proper driver for the WMP600N.

Linksys Wireless Adapters :: Wmp600n Does Not Find Any Wifi Networks

Jan 29, 2011

I've been having major issues with my wireless on this computer (randomly decides not to work while computers in the same room are fine) so I got a new wireless card to see what it could do. Installed it, everything says it's installed fine, but it will NOT detect any wireless networks. Not just mine, any of the 8+ networks I can usually detect from my room. I'm on Win7 Professional 64.

Things I've tried (and I'll be seriously annoyed if people reccomend doing them a 14th time, as I've already spent an hour on livechat with a support person telling me to do things I told her I'd already done):

Installed with 4 different drivers (the ones on the CD, the ones on the website, two versions directly from Ralink for the chipset) Tried both the manual and automatic "update driver" options in device manager. Uninstalled/reinstalled it like 4 times. Moved it to a new PCI slot.

Removed the old adapter before installing it. Removed the old adapter after installing it. Tried connecting to my network as a "hidden" network (which it's not). Installed only the driver and not the adapter utility, and used the utility. Installed the software before physically installing the adapter. Installed it after physically installing the adapter.

I'm at a loss. It doesn't detect ANY networks. No, it's not a problem with my network, there's more than a half dozen that my other adapter, in the same computer, can detect. And I don't know why. It has not ever worked properly. The antennae are on properly, nothing is interfering with it (though that would be odd since it's 3 inches from an adapter that can detect other networks). I might be willing to accept that it's just DoA, but that would be odd considering it installs just fine and reports that it's working just fine.

Linksys Wireless Adapters :: WMP600n Lag Spikes And Slow Internet?

Jan 2, 2010

I'm experiencing problems with the wireless adapter WMP600n. I'm a pc gamer, and as I play I get lag spikes with a ping up to 1000+! Also when I browse the internet, its insanely slow, or sometimes doesn't load at all. I looked for updates and manually installed them but no luck. I'm kind of mad since I spent $80 at staples for it. I'm using it with a wireless g router but I researched it before I bought it and it said it would work with wireless g, and I figured if we ever end up getting a wireless n router, I'll be prepared. Anyways, I want to enjoy my new computer but this gets me pissed.

Linksys Wireless Adapters :: WMP600N - Unable To Predict Loss In Connectivity

Further detail:

- The wireless icon continues to display during the loss of connectivity.

- I have another compute and a smart phone which remain connected during the loss of connectivity.

- The duration of the loss of connectivity is approximately 25-30 seconds.

Linksys Wireless Adapters :: WMP600N Wouldn't Connect Unless Rebooted Router

Sep 9, 2012

I have been having problems with my Linksys WMP600N adapter and trying to connect to the internet. It started a few weeks ago in my old house, where it wouldn't connect unless I rebooted the router, or it would take a long time (over half an hour after being turned on to connect.)Then when I moved it got worse. At the moment it finds the wireless signals avaiable to it, but when I click connect it fails very quickly. It doesn't even try and connect, as it doesn't ask me for my wireless password. When I do get it connected, if I reboot the router and mess around, it kicks me off after a while, and then instead of showing the network available to connect to, shows it with a red cross beside, and I have to go and edit the security settings, or delete the profile and try and connect again. I have tried googling, but various different searches have turned up empty handed. My desktop is running Win 7 64bitThe rest of the specs are Core i7 920 CPU, Asus P6T Deluxe v2 Mobo, 12Gig RAM, Asus GTX 670 GPU, a Corsair SSD, 2 1TB HDDs and 1 2TB one.My Windows 7 laptop connects fine, and our Media Centre PC had some problems before I was here, but works fine now too.
