I've been trying to port forward my WRT54G2 router.I've tried to update the Firmware, use another computer or another browser.But it still doesn't work!
View 1 RepliesI have a wrt54G v8 wireless router and I was trying to install a firmware update a while ago and got impatient, stopped the upgrade in the middle of it and I think I may have bricked my router. I've since tried the 30/30/30 reset a number of times and have noticed that I don't get a blinking power light which I guess means it's ok.
Now when I go to 192.168.1.1 and log in, I can see most menus but when I click the firmware update menu (there's another screen that's also all white, I forget which one), it's all white (or blank). I've searched for a solution on the web and no luck so far.
I've been trying to do this on a mac and no luck. I then booted into windows 7 and used IE 9 to log into 192.168.1.1 and still the same thing, the firmware update screen is blank.
I have an WRT54G2, and I recently bought an new notebook and a new mobile phone. The question is none can connect to my wireless network.My linksys had the following configuration:
Firmware 1.0.03
SSID hidden
WPA2 personal + AES
My note is an ACER 5552-5664 running Ubuntu 11.04 and Windows 7, in Ubuntu I can’t use the wireless. In Windows it works fine.The phone is a Samsung Galaxy and do no connect in the wireless.I had an old notebook running only Windows 7 that works fine too.In my father’s home there is an WRT54G and all my equipment connected there. Other problem is that when I tried to update the firmware, it simple don’t update. I’ve downloaded the last firmware file from Cisco’s page.
I made a big mistake and updated my EA6500 with the wrong firmware.I selected "ver.1.1.38.149770" which I shouldn't have done since it's for the the EA6700 which i read aftwerwards....how stupid can one be Anyway, the device is not started up as it should.I'm able to use it as a cabled router but it's not sending out any wireless signal and the led light is blinking.A factory reset obviously didn't work since the firmware was wrong.So, my question is if it's possible to revert to an older firmware using the USB port?Or for example push a firmware using an ADB command if it's possible to connect using a cable?Or in some other way?
View 4 Replies View RelatedAny direct download of the EA2700 firmware upgrade. My inet is not dsl or cable and will not let the wan port connect, therefor the "auto firmware update" will not work. I'd like to update it and see if it fixes it before I return this for a dlink. url...Anyways, I just want the firmware link so I can decide if this thing is going back to the store or not.
View 1 Replies View RelatedThe latest driver is version 3.2.7 for Windows 7. I am still on the 3.0.2.0 driver which works fine for me. I just wanted to note that the 3.2.7 driver obtained from Windows Update doesn't work well, drops connections and takes longer to establish a connection. I've tried to update twice and each time I go back to the older driver.Can someone at Linksys examine the performance of this driver?

View 2 Replies View Relatedi've upgraded our WLC 5508 from 7.0.220 to 7.2.115.1.For our guest WLAN we use web authentication with customized startpage, no login error page and no logout page. The customized login page is displayed correctly. After successful authentication the browser is forwarded to the default CISCO login page "login.html". No further autentication is possible, also no internet access.Reload the customized webauth bundle to the controller didn't change anything. Is there a change in the HTML/Java code of this controller version? I didn't find any hint in the release notes. Or do I need the newer web authentication bundle with version 1.0.2?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI tried to download the latest firmware for my router cause it's blinking and I don't want it to die on me again so I want to update first, I;m following the instructions properly and am downloading it the way I would normally but it kepts downloading as a .bin file, I'm stuck at Step 3. after the Pinging stuff My file saved as a media file and even my VLC media player won't open it.

I have an EnGenius EOC5611P (500mW) Repeater set up in my RV and it connects directly to the PC inside my RV using, a CAT 5 connection. I am now using a laptop and would like to connect to the EOC5611P using wireless. "Can I re-configure the WRT54G2 to connect the 5611?" (I would plug the router directly into the 5611). According to EnGenius support, it is possible, but the router would have to be re-configured, but they do not support this setup. View 3 Replies View RelatedMy WRT54G2 v1 does not automatically connect to the internet on computer start-up. The computer will say "Connected, No Internet Access" In order to fix it I have to unplug the router and then plug it back in. This happens to any computer that tries to get online from a cold start-up. The router must always be unplugged, then plugged back in, then it will have internet access (and will generally maintain it throughout the session and even if the computer is restarted, i.e. warm boot). I have downloaded the latest firmware uprade.
View 9 Replies View Related I have done this before on this exact model about a month ago, so it's still fresh in my mind on port forwarding. (note, I'm using firmware version: 1.0.00) I am running a windows 7 computer wirelessly using this router.What I do for port forwarding is type in router IP (192.168.2.1) in internet explorer, type in "default" as username and "admin" as password. I click the "applications and gaming" link which brings me to port range forwarding.
I fill in my port info, in this case a mine craft server running on 25565. I set up two of the same ports, different names both at the same port, one running TCP and the other UDP, when it worked previously the "both" option did not work correctly. (I used to have a private network that a buddy of mine set up a while back, and I doubt he remembers what to do and I don't know where the manual is to make a new one, searching the internet sends me spam of people asking questions.)
I read somewhere it may have something to do with DHCP server settings conflicting with my IP. My IPv4 address reads 192.168.2.100, and the DHCP settings says the same.
I am trying to update my WRT110 which has 1.0.04 firmware on it right now but when i try to update it toVer.1.0.05 all i get is this message.... i dont know what to do i never had a problem updating my older router's befor i had this one this is the first time im updating this one i tryed updating it on IE 8 RC1 & also Safari 4 but i get the same message . I've also tryed saving the firmware file in it's own folder still no luck try updating on my xp desktop & my laptop with vista with same message? is it a problem with linksys with the file on there website maybe?

View 1 Replies View Relatedan EA6500 router that has intermmitent connectivity issues. Went into the configuration page and saw he was a couple versions behind on firmware. Used the online update option, firmware downloaded and then indicated that router would reboot. Did not power off router or leave the configuration web page. Watched light go out on router and come back on, but the spinning wait icon never went away after 5 minutes. Powered off and on and was back at the same point with the old firmware still. Downloaded the firmware to local drive and applied from local file, but same results. Waited 10 minutes this time. Surely it doesn't take more than 10 minutes for the router to reboot itself from a firmware flash?
Gave up on trying to update firmware and configured wifi settings. Left friend's house and then got a message about 15 minutes later that the router had locked up again. If he pulls power for 2 minutes it will then work for another short period of time.
Is there anything that can be done to try and restore normal operation to this particular router, or are these all signs of a hardware failure and the unit should just be replaced?
Just got a WRT120N and went online to get the most recent firmware and when i performed the upgrade it's gets about 3/4 of the way completed before it just stalls and start screen blinking like it's caught up or something. I using a modem, wrt120n router connection with a Brand New Sony Vaio laptop. I was able to upgrade my old WRT54G V5 router but can't seem to get the new router to update.

After the process i lost internet connection and i can't no longer access my router. I tried to reset the router to factory defaults by pressing the reset button for 10 seconds, but nothing happened. I also turned everything off and on again, but still nothing happened.

On the mac it looks like a normal zip file but when I click to "unzip" it it just creates another zip file. When I download it on a pc it doesn't even look like a zip it's just a blank white square. Both computers have always downloaded zips fine, so I'm thinking it maybe is a problem with the file?
