how to make hard reset to MR3420.I installed openwrt-mr3420-v2-HM2013-04-19 software to my router.and after that while the router restart the led green lights flashing on and of all the time.and I cant contact to the router with wifi or lan cable
I have a new techni colour wifi router TG582n which has a usb cobnnection in the side. I also have a new Samsung 400 gig external hard drive can these be linked to make a wifi hard disc store.
I have a DIR-655 (HW rev A2) that has worked mostly fine for a long time. Today I decided to do a firmware upgrade, and in preparation I backed up my custom config settings and did a hard reset via the factory reset button on the back of the unit.
Since then, the unit itself has been inaccessible from my computer. If I connect the DIR-655 and a PC with a network cable, the appropriate light goes on on the front of the router, but the client does not lease an IP address from the router and I can't access the router home page at 192.168.0.1.
I have tried the reset button again and also power-cycled multiple times, and I have tried connecting from multiple computers, all with the same unsuccessful results. how to "un-brick" the device?
I recently rescued an old Belkin 54G router (Model: F5D7632-4) which I planned to use as an extra wireless access point towards the back of my house where I have some dead spots. I logged in on the Belkin's IP: 192.168.2.1 And went straight to change the IP and put it onto the same subnet as my router. I changed it to: 192.168.0.1 as I had it in my head my router was .254 My router is 192.168.0.1 so obviously this didn't do much and I couldn't access either device.
I unplugged my network and plugged directly into the Belkin to change to another IP and I cannot access it. The operation times out. I can access the normal router when I connect back up to the network fine. To solve this I decided to reset the router. The instruction manual for the Belkin says a momentary push on the reset will do a quick reset. while >20 seconds will perform a full hard reset. Both of these are signified by the power light flashing, and the reset is complete when the power light becomes solid again.
Unfortunately no matter how long I hold the reset button for, the light does not even blink and no reset happens. Obviously this may just be a dodgy reset switch, the router is getting quite old, so I will go in an short the reset pins by hand if I need to. The solution I am looking for is either to reset so I can start again - or obtain access to the router through some other means to change the IP and carry on. When I connect the Belkin to my network, the router cannot see it connected to it's Ethernet port. However the Belkin's link light occasionally flickers.
I have a router that I upgraded the firmware a while ago, I stopped using it several months ago, I was going to give this router to my sister, i tried a hard reset(30 seconds press reset, unplug, hold hold the reset, wait 20 sec, plug power, hold for 30 sec and release the reset) and I tried to login with admin admin and it doesn't accept it. I tried with another router dlink 614i and the same problem, after resetting it it's not accepting admin admin log/pass.
I have an EA-4500. Unfortunately I often have to hard-reset it:
- every time I update the firmware (last time I updated to 2.1.38.138827 via Cisco Connect Cloud)
- sometimes whenever there is a black-out
The first time it happened upon the automic firmware update which released Connect Cloud. In such cases, the router stays with the white Cisco logo on and no other lights work (i.e. the ethernet lights on the rear side of the router are off). The only reset procedure working is: unplug Internet cable, press reset for 30 secs, turn off while keeping reset pressed, wait 30 more seconds, turn on again always keeping the reset pressed.
I've tried to turn off for 2 minutes but it doesn't work. The strange thing is that the above reset procedure does not always work, sometimes I have to do it like 10 times before the router Cisco logo light starts blinking on and off (like breathing).
Besides this, which is very very annoying, I'm satisfied with router functionalities and performance.
I have an e4200 with the latest firmware 2.1.39. I just upgraded the firmware due to connection issues with my DSL. I now have the same issues with disconnects but I believe they are being caused by a different issue. When I try and log into my router through the IP address it wont let me, it says it can't find the router. Eventually after getting in the first time by using the default password, I have twice found out that all my settings are gone. This has happened twice this week and only happened after upgrading the firmware but I can not tell if firmware is causing it or if it is hardware related. I now reboot and restore saved firmware but that is a hassle and am pretty sure that is not the way it was designed to work.

My problem is whenever I upload anything, my modem disconnects. My USB Dongle is a Telstra Ultimate 3G Sierra Wireless AirCard 312U. The problem is not present whenever I connect the dongle directly into the USB port on my LapTop.

I have successfully connected to my ISP with the 3G USB dongle. But it seems like the PIN code is not saved. I have to enter it after a reboot of the router.

I have TP-LINK 3G/3.75G Wireless N Router Model # TL-MR3420 which is compatible with Telenor 3G USB ZTE MF190. With quick setup I have successfully configured the router, but the router does not connect with 3G ZTE MF190. I even called the Telenor helpline, they say that, they've no support for TP-LINK.

I'm trying to replace my old router with the TL-MR3420 but I cannot reach Internet.
I get "Internet" directly by a Cable into my apartment. This Cable is connected to the WAN input. Then I connect my computer to one of the LAN ports. (The Cable Connections are done exactly as on my previous router.)
The setup on my PC (running Windows 8) is as described in the manual (IP address automatic and DNS server automatic).
Internet doesn't work and I cannot reach the router from the browser using 192.168.1.1.
I'm not using any 3G and of course I have restarted the router (and PC) a couple of times. I thought I could just replace my old router with the new one... but NOT.

Is remote administration over 3G connection possible? The telstra public IP is not pingable. (from externally) Goes no where when I put the public IP into a browser. (from externally) Any settings changes to enable this?

Just wonder if anyone using the same model of router and having bad connection with wireless? Its OK with the pc LAN (physical cable) connection but intermittent lost signal, request timeout when connect from notebook or iphone/ipad via wireless whether with DHCP or fixed internal IP.
I am having this issue since day 1, then upgrade the firmware by myself... Still no good. I keep the device into store send to warranty claim. After 2-3 months only get back the device, firmware being updated to above.. It seems to be OK for 1st week( i think) ... but now lost signal again.

Today i purchased brand new Tp-Link MR-3420 3G/4G router for my BSNL EVDO modem..as this product is shown to support ZTE AC8700 modem...but it doesnt seem to work.. I put the right dial-up number, user name and password that i use when i connect modem to laptop and left APN field blank...The modem gets identified by the router but it just don't connect to internet,it just keeps saying "connecting.....". Also the signal strength is shown 0%... If your modem is really supporting ZTE AC8700 modem why its not working?

my Huawei E353 dongle/modem is not recognised by the MR3420 router. The router functions perfectly with a different dongle (E122). The E353 works fine when connected directly to laptop so I am happy it is functioning fine. Could not find a bin file for the E353.

I have owned the TL-MR3420 for about six months and never had any problems with it, 3G connection stable enough and wifi and LAN worked properly without any drops.About one week ago I started experiencing problems. Both wifi and LAN gets disabled and I need to pull the plug and do a hard reset to correct the issue. This only happens after some heavy use, many devices is connected to Wifi, streaming files over the WIfi and so on. A scenario may be the following; there are six devices back home using all using wifi. All of them are not connected at the same time, but four may be; usually three computers and one tablet. The HTPC may do some heavy videostreaming from another computer. When the streaming is over, some devices are shut down then I may lose the WIFI and LAN ability of the router.
I have tried connecting with cable after wifi were lost but no IP address where given to it and connection where refused. This means I have no possibility to access the log file in the router, and after reboot the log file is reset. Router settings is pretty much default. Is my device broken or is there any setting I may tweak with?I have updated to latest firmware and tried to change channel without success.

I have been usung TP link for years, and now I want to use the 3G modem option the 3420 offers. But in the list of countries I can't find Serbia, and I can't find the ZTE MF 195. I found that on the TP Links site list of compatible modems there is Other countries, but in the modem list there isn't such an option, and since there is also no ZTE MF 195, and there isn't a "Telenor" entry for the service provider.I tried telling the router that I'm from another country, and setting up some of the parameters manually, but "surprisingly" it didn't work. Is there or could someone make a program which makes BIN files specific to the modem that isn't on the list, or is there a place where the BIN files grow?

The TL-MR3420 recognizes my modem (Olivetti Olicard 160), but it does not connect to the 3G network. I tested the modem on my PC and it connects fine. The PIN verification is deactivated and the Modem configuration is the same as I use on the PC, however it just keeps trying to connect without success. I updated the firmware to the latest version.

My USB Modem HUAWEI E173 not work as well with TL-MR3420 Its lose Identify every almost 15 minutes , and try to Identify again and some times not successfully until I reboot the unit . then its Identify successfully , after some minutes the problem happen again and again . I think its from the router software issue that it have not the correct driver of the modem .
also , the signal of the wireless not that good like the other routers which I used before .

Whilst the MR3420 V2 is sold as a 4G usb router, it appears that it does not support many usb 4G devices. In Australia we currently have the Seirra 320u, ZTE MF821 (100Mbps Cat 3) and Huawei E3276 (150Mbps Cat 4)whilst the V2 supports the first two (not the E3276), it has one major failure! It does not work at full 4G speeds.
The V2 does not appear to allow download speeds in excess of 25Mbps or uploads much greater than 2Mbps. This occurs on fast 3G and 4G networks. The throttled speed is apparently due to slow modem protocols deployed in the router. High protocol overheads mean it cannot 'shuffle data' very fast.We have developed working solutions using the Openwork platform that overcome these issues and provides speeds in excess of 70mbps.
