I had wifi connected in my laptop Lenovo T410 but after formatting, I'm not able to activate Wifi..it is not activating with Fn + F5. I'm using now external wireless network adaptor.
View 3 Repliesjust formatted my Dell Optiplex GX260 because it was running slow and notcooperating, for example it suddenly decided not to connect properly to the internet via the wireless adapter. I used the CD that came with the computer, the reinstallation CD for MS Win XP Pro Sp2.Now when the computer is up and running again, there is no sign of internet, in device manager there is no sign of any networking adapter. I thought that I was able to manage this, but this problem is beyond me understanding

Is this an expected behavior of the failover process and if so, how long should I wait for the routes to come back?

View 1 Replies View RelatedRecently, due to some reason I have not yet figured out, my laptop has started bugging out with the wi-fi and connecting to my wireless connection at home. What it does is it keeps trying to connect, and sort of connects. It gets that little yellow triangle, and says Limited Connectivity. When I check the status, I am in fact getting an IP address, and everything SEEMS to be in order. On my router's configuration page, however, I cannot see my laptop's MAC address in the list of attached wireless devices. The internet does seem to work for about a few minutes every time I restart the router.
At first I thought it might have been an IP conflict issue, so I tried setting up a static IP on my laptop. Then I tried reserving an IP for my laptop through the router. Then I tried both. And while all three attempts seemed to have fixed the problem, it came back within a few minutes.

My old laptop(packard bell) stopped connecting to wifi. it says something like "only local connection", i had problem with that before, but it dissapeared when i restarted the laptop. now i really cant do anything, i tried to connect to other networks but it wont, and restarted it like 4 times...i have an old belkin router(5 yrs or something) and the laptop is 4-5. its a vista.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am at my friend's house and she cannot connect her Acer laptop to the her own wifi (netgear router). Her iPad and my laptop (lenovo) both can connect to the wifi. This would lead me to believe that the issue is with her computer but her computer can connect to other wifis in the area...just not her own. I am not sure what is causing this...it may be that program "Acer eNet Management" but that still doesn't explain why she can connect to other wifis and not her own. Is there maybe a compatability issue with netgear and her wifi card?
