Belkin Routers :: Blu-ray Streaming With N150 Works But Only With Another Laptop Connected?
May 28, 2013
After much troubleshooting to connect and stream content from my desktop to my blu-ray player, it only works if my laptop is also connected to the network. I use a Belkin N150 F9K1001v1. I cannot for the life of me figure out why it will stream just fine as long as my laptop is running as well. I am confused if this is an issue with the router or with Windows7 Homegroup (though other share options proved unfruitful).
I cannot get my belkin n150 wireless router to connect to my laptop or ipad - wireless connection was working but stopped - so i attempted to re-configure the ip protocols on the router using the 198.168.2.1/ password - changed the ip setting on the belkin page but did not reset or set address (DHCP).
I recently bought a router so I could connect my Toshiba laptop to the internet. After I connected the ethernet cable to the router and plugged everything in, I installed the program from the CD that it came with. After the whole process, it says "You are now connected to the internet!". Yeah well when I try to get on the internet, it suddenly takes the connection off. On my wifi status, it says it's not connected anymore. When I try to connect again, it says I'm connected, although if I get on internet explorer, it takes off the connection again. Though when it is connected, it says no internet connection available although I am connected to the router. So basically, I'm connected to the router, but not the router to the internet.
My router is not connecting my laptop to the internet. The icon at the bottom states that I am connected and have an excellent connection.checking the router, starting and restarting router but still no connection.
I have a Dell Inspiron 1525 laptop. It will not connect wireless to my Belkin N150. It use to, then one day it quit. I have an HP laptop and it connects wireless just fine. So I don't think it is the router. I have tried to reinstall the router. And the PC tells me there is a network available, but it will not connect. My question is... Can the wifi card be bad? Is there a key combination that might have been put in by accident?
I've just bought an N150 router. I also have a wireless IP camera. I want to keep the same 192.168.2.3 address for my camera regardless of how many other devices are connected when I switch it on. If the address changes I need to connect a cable to access it.On my previous prehistoric Netgear I could reserve addresses that I didn't want to change. I tried turning off DHCP but then couldn't access the router from the wired PC and had to reset it all. Then I had to run cables down the garden to reconnect the camera. Can I turn DHCP off for some addresses that I want to keep?
After our ISP had a network outage, our Belkin N150 stopped working properly & now I can't get to the Settings page to fix anything. I have used the Reset feature to no avail. The blue light is on but the "Fixit" feature only comes up with something about the ASDL line.
How can I set up a N150 router so that I can access a WiFi printer (Canon) with my laptop and/or iOS device? No Internet involved - just want to wirelessly print to my new Canon printer.
I have a Belkin F6D4230-4 Enhanced N150 router. Would it be advisable to add a range extender to hit weak signal areas or simply upgrade to a more powerful router?
Just bought the N150 router. Trying to enter the router setup for the first time. I leave the password blank like it tells me to, but it says i have an incorrect password. Tried pressing reset button for 10 seconds, but get same result.
I havent been able to connect to the internet with my wireless Belkin N150 router in 2 days! I have tried everything. I have done everything on this website and it still will not get on the internet. My modem works fine.
Can't use internet and phone at the same time on the N150 router. On DSL and whether on the DSL line or using VOIP when using the phone the internet goes down.
This problem started happening a few days ago. Whenever I try to access [URL] on my computer that's not physically connected to the router and modem, I keep getting a 403 error:
You don't have permission to access / on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
Apache/2.2.22 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.2.22 OpenSSL/0.9.8e-fips-rhel5 mod_auth_passthrough/2.1 mod_bwlimited/1.4 FrontPage/5.0.2.2635 Server at www.facebook.com Port 80 --
but I can access touch.facebook.com and m.facebook.com. If I use the computer that is physically connected to the router and modem, I can access Facebook fine. I've tried using CMDPrompt and releasing/renewing IP to no avail. I use the belkin n150 router with updated firmware and the linksys wireless-g pci adapter with v3 drivers. Never had an issue before up until now.
I recently got a Belkin N150 Enhanced Router Model F6D4230-4 V1. I upgraded it to the recent firmware.
I use it NOT to access internet, but only to hook up my desktop computer with my laptop and my tablet PC. I use Win7 Ultimate on both computers. I configured a Win7 home network and I managed to access shared files between the 3 devices.
However, the speed is very very low, not going over 1.5 MB per second , sometimes even less, although the signal strength is the maximum (54).
The distance between the laptop and the desktop is only 4-5 meters, in the same room. My laptop is HP Compaq 6710b which has what seems to be a "Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection" .
Transfer speed is the same whether transferring from or to the laptop. I configured the laptop according to the instructions in the manual.
Just bought N150 router. Have fiber optic to PC now. Want to add wirelss to use laptop in other parts of house. Plug cable company CAT5 into port marked "Modem" and then my pc into one of the LAN ports ?
I have a n150 and it only allows private ip addresses for the lan setup. Is there anyway to assign a public address? I need to have the DHCP use a public range and I can't do that unless I can set the router to a public ip.
i lost my belkin n150 installation cd, and i haven't installed it on my computer, my net connection to my computer via lan keeps dying, but wi-fi works perfectly. What should i do? Where can i download the software from??
i forgot my password for my belkin n150 wireless router so now it wont let me change any of my settings.i called tech support and all they wanted to do is get into my computer and sell me security progams .when i told them no they wouldnt reset my password and hung up.
I can't seem to get my Canon MG5220 Wireless Printer to connect to my Belkin N150 wireless router. The printer sees the belkin wireless router network name but cannot connect to it( after entering the correct security key). It worked fine with a previous wireless router. My desktop PC is connected to the belkin router via direct ethernet, and I want to be able to access my wireless printer which is located in another room from my PC. I think I remember reading that the canon mg5220 may not support WPA2 security, but Its only a year old and would prefer not to regonfigure my router's security setting. how I can get this printer to connect to my router? Any other ways to access this printer from my PC which is connected to LAN via ethernet?
I have a Belkin N150 wireless router. I have enabled MAC Address Filtering as an added level of security. However; whenever I access the router, and if I check that page; the check mark for the option to enable the filter is always blank.
I have checked the option, clicked Apply Changes, and logged out of the router. i went back in this morning, to check the security logs. (Looking like someone is trying to jump on my network) I didn't see anything there, but when I checked MAC Address Filtering; there was no check mark indicating that the filter was turned on.
Is there a way to quickly disable Wi-Fi on a N-150 from the router setup page? I have looked on my admin page but I don't see it. I just want to be able to turn the radio on and off from the PC that is connected via ethernet.
Anyone having problems connecting N150 router to a 1st Generation Nest Thermostat? Nest support says it's a problem with them not conforming "to the TCP/IP specifications around Network Address Translation (NAT) timeouts and are disconnecting Nest too soon". Any way to work around this problem until/if a firmware update fixes it?
I bought my own modem, a Motorolla Extreme something or other, is a DOCSIS 3.0. My router is a Belkin N150. When I plug my desktop computer directly into the router, I get speeds upwards of 50Mbps. The wireless, however, gets about 0.15Mbps download, but as much as 12Mbps upload.
I know it's not computer specific, because I plugged my laptop directly into the modem and got the full speed. AND I put a wireless adaptor on the desktop and got the slower speeds.I live in a densely populated area and there are 27 other (visible) wireless networks available (all locked, unfortunately. Otherwise I wouldn't be in this situation in the first place). So I tried every channel, doing a speedtest with each, and I got almost identical results each time: 0.12-0.17Mbps download, 11-13Mbps upload. I can't imagine that getting only 0.15Mbps could be a result of a channel being clogged, but I tried it anyway;
Can the N150 be set up so that it just runs a private network - not connect to the internet? The auto-setup doesn't seem to work without a modem attached to it and I don't want it to be hooked up to the outside world, just a few computers and a NAS device on a private net.
