View 1 RepliesHave a Canon MP495 (wirelessconnection) whiich worked until I changed internet provider, It was saying printer not respondingand now it's saying printer offline. It won't work with usb connection either. Tried reinstalling it but still nothing..
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy Canon MP495 3-in-1 inkjet XPS printer is connected through my mother's computer, and up until a few days ago I was able to print from it through our Home network. My mother can still print from it directly, so it is not a hardware issue. On my computer when I go to print, underneath the printer selection it says server offline. I have checked both computers and they are both on the Home network with all sharing options on. I can see her media and documents from my computer and she can see mine vise-versa. When I open the Network and Sharing Center and view the full network map, my mother's computer runs to a question mark then to the router, while mine is shown to be fine. When you click on the router within the map it brings up a page saying "Important Update. To avoid a conflict with your Internet Service Provider, your router's IP address has been updated to 10.0.0.1. You must now update the IP addresses in your router's configuration settings for each relevant service, such as port forwarding and IP address reservation." I do not know if this is the problem and it is starting to go beyond my realm of understanding. Also, possibly related, we had a bad storm that did NOT knock our power out, but the internet went down and we had to reboot the modems. This occurred right before the problems began. Last piece of information: We are going through 2 routers due to lack of jacks in the house. The line goes through the first router which connects to a second one in the back of the house. Both computers are linked to the second router, and it is the second router which shows on the network map. I go to an online college and it is necessary for me to access the printer.

I have a wireless home broadband. I don't have a pc or mac. How can I connect my wireless printer to my wifi network so I can AirPrint or print wirelessly from my iPad and iPhone ?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have 2 desktops (running windows 7), a Canon MF8300 printer, and an outgoing ethernet line, all on a Netgear Advanced Cable Modem Gateway CGD24-CPR. I'm only concerned with having the 2 desktops set up with the Canon printer. Both computers have been connected to the printer before and I have the startup disk. But once the new offices were set up and both of the desktops were moved, I can no longer access or find the printer.
I can IPconfig the Desktops for their IPV4 addresses and both desktops recognize eachother on a Homegroup, but I can't find the printer. I printed off the print configuration page from the printer which gave me an IP address (printer is set for auto-obtain), but using an IP search won't bring up the printer. All of the devices are plugged into ethernet ports set up for the three different office they are in and the actual location of the Netgear cable modem/router is over 100 feet away. My primary concern is getting the printer for the desktops, but I also need to add a wireless router into one of those office in the future.
I used WPS on my DIR-655 Rev B1 FW 2.03NA to register a Brother HL-2270DW Wifi laser printer and my Mac can never wake it up to print. It always works fine from all my Windows machines. It appears as xxx.xxx.xxx.6 on my network. But the router only shows its IP as 0.0.0.0 on the STATUSWireless page and I can't find any way to change that. My assumption is that the Mac can't find it because of this, but I'm not an expert on WPS.Maybe I should take it out of WPS and just assign it a fixed IP using DHCP Reservation. Or is there another fix? I haven't ruled out the Brother OS X printer driver, but it and the printer's firmware are both up to date. Two odd things:
1. I can ping the printer from my PCs but the Mac can't find see in and it's not a Firewall issue.
2. I can see the brother printer in Finder's Shared devices: so it sees it but refuses to interact.
I had tried over a year ago to set up wireless in my home and failed miserably.I thought I would retry. It says Im connected but do not have internet access. It says the DNS is not responding.

I'm trying to set up a VPN connection with my Windows 7 machine at home any my Windows XP laptop. The Windows 7 is the server, and my XP is the client. The machine at home is behind a DIR-600 router. I've setup the normal VPN connections at both the machines, and have also forwarded port 1793 on the Windows 7 (following the usual steps: static ip etc). I also exempted the said port from the windows firewall.

At the start everything was OK but after few days internet connection started struggling. Troubleshoot says that DNS server is not responding. There are a couple others laptops on the same network and it seems that just me have this problem. The problem - Skype, torrents are working OK. The problem is with connection to internet sites via my internet browser. It doesn't matter it's IE, Mozilla or Google Chrome, I have the problem with all of them. Sometimes the problem disappears and everything is working OK but usually I have the problem and can't connect to one or other site.

View 22 Replies View RelatedI have had DSL service for several years from a small, local ISP, that pays Verizon for the use of their lines. On 1/2/2012 in mid-morning I began experiencing lack of connectivity. I noticed that the "link" light on my DSL modem was blinking. I tried turning everything off & starting up again but to no avail. In the morning, I turned everything on again & for about 45 minutes my DSL service was perfect. Then it became intermittent & mostly unavailable.

I'm trying to connect to a Medialink wifi router from this laptop but after finding and connecting to it, it shows as No Internet Access. When I try to access a web page, it says DNS Not Responding. I have been able to access it before from this laptop. I am currently able to access this particular wifi spot from other devices. I am unsure if this laptop is able to access other wifi spots besides my own.
Things began to act weird after I tried changing the network name from the Network and Sharing Center by clicking on the 'House' icon, changing the network name to something besides the given router name, and pressing ok.
Since then, I have reset the router. I have checked to make sure DNS is automatically retrieved. When that didn't work, I gave it a public DNS to pull from, but that didn't work so I reverted to Auto DNS. I have enabled netbios over TCP/IP. I have flushed all caches. Nothing.
I don't have McAfee installed, only MSE.

I am having an issue with my netgear router dg834g
last night my router just stopped working when i was on the internet. I looked at my router and the power light and tick were flashing. After disconnectibg the power a few times this continued so i called it a night and left it disconnected.
Tonight i turned it back on and all looks fine on the router but on the pc it will now not connect and says the dns server isnt responding.
Maybe its a problem with my internet provider (orange) so not sure but its frustrating lol. Dont know a lot of the techical stuff i was using it fine for over a year withoit any problems.
For a while now every time I started up my computer I wouldn't be able to connect to the internet. When I used the Windows Network Diagnostic tool, it said "the DNS server isn't responding". Last weekend I seemed to have solved this with DNS jumper after trying everything (flushing etc.). I tested a torrent and got speeds up to 2.1mb/s which I have never gotten before. Even the other members of my household noticed faster internet speed. This worked up until late Sunday when my internet decided to crash. The problem with starting the computer is gone, but everytime I I tested another torrent and get speed of 2kB/s and while I am downloading, I can't surf the web on that computer. I tried port-forwarding for uTorrent which seemed to work a bit. Download speeds jumped to 20kB/s for about a minute then fell back down to 2kB/s. I saw some forums saying it was there anti virus so I disabled the P2P shield on avast! and that did work as well, so I uninstalled it and got a new anti virus and the speeds were still around 20kB/s then plummeted again

I'm having an issue with my wireless connection.I was connected fine to my wireless internet on my desktop perfectly fine. I then attempted to connect to Xbox live at this time and that also worked fine. The connection began to get a little flaky (kept losing connection) so I reset my modem while they were both still connected. When the modem came back neither was able to connect. My other laptop, iPhone, and iPad also can no longer connect to the wireless.Windows troubleshooting tells me my DNS server is no longer responding. I'm assuming the desktop connection and Xbox connection are trying to connect to the same thing due to my reset, but I can't figure out how to fix it.
View 3 Replies View RelatedSo up till about a week ago my internet connection has been fine. Then all of the sudden it will "cut off" for about 5-10 mins and then be fine again. It happens randomly, sometimes it won't happen for a couple hours and then sometimes it happens 2-3 times in a hour. Funny thing is that it says I am still connected to the internet and infact if I am able to log into like MSN or skype or I am playing a online game, I can still play those games or chat. However, if I am not signed on to msn, skype, etc....during when I can't browse the internet, I can't log into those services. I thought maybe it was my pc, but my ipod touch and roommate's laptop experience the same exact issue as they are connected to my router. The error the pc is giving me is "DNS Server isn't responding.".
