Cisco AAA/Identity/Nac :: ACS 4.2 Command Sets Mapping To Access Policy
May 2, 2011
how to map my command shells that I created to the access policies under Default Device Admin/Authorization. All I get an option for is Shell Profile but not commands. See attached doc.ACS 4.2 was easy.. I would just create a command set and apply to a group.

I have everything working on a new 5.2 ACS but:I can only make a command set that permits things and denies all.I thought with the check box. Permit any command that is not in the table below" one could allow all and specifically deny commands.and that would allow the user to do all commands except for conf and set. But it doesn't seem to adminstratively block it, it allows them to still "conf" for instance.
Then it works as expected, it allows the commands that are permitted and denying all unspecified commands.I know I am in the right command set because the changes I make are reflected immediately. Can someone test the "Permit any command that is not in the table below' and tell me if it works? I can make it work with the unchecked box, sure, but it would be nice to get it to work.

I configure my Cisco ACS5.2 using Command set policy and providing Shell access 15.I allow user only “show * ” command. It works fine with Telnet. User Group cannot execute any command apart from “Show * ”But when I connect the device using Console user group has full permission on the devices.I believe Command set policy is not working on Console. Is it normal behavior or do I need to update some changes in ACS or Network devices ?
My network device configuration is as below :
tacacs-server host 10.x.x.x key test123
tacacs-server host 10.y.y.y key test123
tacacs-server timeout 1
aaa authentication login default group tacacs+ local
aaa authentication enable default group tacacs+ enable
aaa accounting exec default start-stop group tacacs+
aaa accounting commands 1 default start-stop group tacacs+

ASA 5520 to get it to authenticate VPN users against and Active Directory environment plus allow management access as well. I created a Dynamic Access Policy on the ASA stating that if you are a member of the Active Directory group "Managment" the continue. I chagned the DefaultAccessPolicy to "Terminate". So with that, VPN users cannot connect because they are not a member of that group, but the access to manage the ASA is allowed because of that policy. Is there a way through using Dynamic Access Policies that I can allow management access (SSH, ASDM, etc) by matching to a group membership and will allow normal users to VPN in successfully but not allow them access to managing the ASA?

I am trying to solve this problem without success so far. I have fresh ACS 4.2.15 patch 5 ACS installation and I am tryng to deploy it to our environment. So I have configured one 2960S to be my test client and everything works fine. Problem is when I try to create fine grained policies using network device groups and shell authorization sets.
I have created shell authorization sets called ReadOnly and FullAccess. I have also created NDG called FloorSwitches and added my 2960. I have 2 user groups called FloorSwitchesReadOnly and FloorSwithcesFullAccess. Now, if I configure group FloorSwitchesFullAccess and assign Shell command authorization set per NDG and then log into the switch, all of my commands are refused as unauthorized.
One thing that I have noticed is that if I assign shell command authorization set to any device ( in user group settings ) it works fine. Or if I create association with DEFAULT NDG in user group it also works. So my conclusion is that ACS for some reason does not associate my switch with correct group but rather puts it to DEFAULT group for some reason.

I have a new Cisco Secure ACS 5.2 on a VM. We want to use it to for administrative access to our Cisco equipment with TACACS+. I am trying to map user permissions to different groups of devices based on active directory group membership, however it is not working.
I am using an LDAP (configured for secure authentication) external identity store. On the directory organization tab, I have confirmed the accuracy of the subject and group search base and the test configuration button shows that it's finding > 100 users and >100 groups.
On the directory groups page I have entered the groups according to the required format. cn=groupname1,ou=groups,dc=abc,dc=com
I have a rule based result selection under group mapping. I have two rules in the format below.
Conditon
LDAP:Externalgroups groupname1
Result
Identitygroup1
I have the default group set to a identity group named other. My problem is, no matter what user attempts to authenticate, the Default rule is applied, and the user is put into the other identity group. This occurs when I log on as a groupname1 user, groupname2 user, or as user that is not a member of either of those groups. LDAP authentication works and the user is able to logon to the device.

I am new to v5.3, and I am not good at VPN.I just have my consultant to configure this correctly just today. Currently, there is only one rule for the access policy (Single Result Selection). That rule is to use Active Directory as the source for the authentication. And by default will deny any other access which is not found in the rule.Now... I just got an order that I need to setup a new user who will need to access to our network by using Cisco IPSec VPN (the software one). But that user is not setup in our Active Directory, and we do not want him to access our domain anyway. He only needs to access non-domain resourse...such as airconditioning controller by IP. So I am thinking to setup his account by using "internal identtity". If I do this way, what do I need to do to setup another access policy? May you give me some steps with little more details? OR... if it is not the way I should do...what else can I do to achieve this goal? Also, he said he could provide his static IP trying to access from. I have a ASA 5520.

I had insatalled the ACS 5.2 on Vmware . As per my requirement i need to configure a user to restricted privilege so that he should be able to execute only the below commands on the switch .
-Show ver
-Show interfaces
-Show ip Interface Brief
-Configure terminal
-Interface <interface name >
-Shutdown
-No shutdown
The users should not be authorized to execute any other commands than above listed one .After the configuration i was not able to restrict the config mode commands . Once the user is authoized for Configure terminal access he will have full access on the device. How to configure the command set only to allow interface access and he should be able to apply Shutdown and No shutdown command .

I try to map LDAP Group to ASA Group policy following documentation:
[URL]
This is a config for ASA 8.0. I would have expected it to work on 8.4 as well but I do run into problems. The mapping as shown in LDAP Debug and ASA Log will actually happen but it is overwritten by the "GPnoAccess" Group Policy configured locally in the Tunnel Group. From earlier works with RADIUS I would have expected the user specific Attribute to be "stronger"?
ASA Log:
AAA retrieved user specific group policy (correct Policy) for user = XXX
AAA retrieved default group policy (GPnoAccess) for user = XXX

I am configuring a new ACS 5.3 system. Part of the rules is that I want to match the users specific AD group membership, and match appropriatly to an identity group. What i'm trying to do is say that if the user is a member of the AD Group (G-CRP-SEC-ENG) then associate them with the Identity Group SEC-ENG. The under the access service, authorization portion, i assign shell profiles and command sets based on Identity Group. It seems that the ACS server will not match the AD Group for the user, and it will match the Default of teh Group Mapping portion of the policy every time.
I tried several configuration choices from : AD1:ExternalGroups contains any <string showing in AD>, AD1:memberOf <group>.Is there something special i need to do in the Group Mapping Policy to get it to match and active directory group and result in assigning the host to an Identity Group?

We are using ACS 4.2.1.15 with patch 8 on ACS 1113 SE box.
Our requirement is to assign ACS loal group to user on basis of windows Nt group. Which means I dont wants to create individual users in ACS rather when user will login, the auth request will be forwarded to AD(remote database). Depeneding on the remote database group the user should be mapped to local database.
For this I have configured "database group mapping" according to following cisco guide. [URL]
However when ever my AD users are authenticating they are getting the membership of default group as configured in "Default" profile. I am using TACACS+ protocol in my routers and switches for authentication.
whether "Group mapping by External user database" works with TACACS+ or only with RADIUS protocol. If it works with TACACS+ what else configuration need to be done so that my ACS can map users to proper groups instead of default group.

I'm trying to dynamically assign IP address for VPN users from AD (without IAS service). I know that there is a restriction that "Dial-in users are not supported by AD in ACS (note in "acsuserguide51") but Im not exacly sure what can and can't do with it. In "Authorization Profiles" in RADIUS Attributes tab I try to mannually add specific Attribute (Framed-IP-Address).
I have no problem (everything works just fine) with static address assignment in a way as below:
AD is already integrated with ACS and I've managed to download Directory attributes especially msRADIUSFramedIPAddress
When I change "Attribute Value" from static to dynamic type I see the option to select AD (but "Select" which should list all available attributes is empty)
I know that I can do it directly (ASA <-> AD attribute mapping) but I want ACS to do it

I have a working ASA 5505 that is used for remote access. It authenticates users via RADIUS (Microsoft AD using two IAS servers), it also authorises users via LDAP and it does some LDAP attribute mapping to get group membership for DAP. This is all working fine however recently I enabled IPv6 to do some testing. I have a /126 subnet on the Inside interface (maps to its equivalent /30 IPv4 subnet) and OSPFv3 running so the ASA has visibility of the internal IPv6 networks. DNS client is enabled in the ASA and all the authentication servers are entered as hostnames. The two RADIUS servers only have A records and the two LDAP servers (Windows DC's) have both A and AAAA records. My plan was to begin test IPv6 on the AnyConnect VPN clients (once I was happy the ASA was working fine with IPv6).
When I initially enabled IPv6 everything continued to work as before, however I had to reboot the ASA today and after it all came back up authorisation stopped working. I did a bit of troubleshooting and the ASA is complaining of not being able to resolve the addresses of the two LDAP servers. From the CLI I can ping the hostnames and the LDAP servers resolve to IPv6 addresses and the RADIUS servers resolve to IPv4 addresses. When I issue the command 'show aaa-server LDAP' (LDAP is the name of the group) I see the servers listed but the address displays 0.0.0.0:
Prior to the reboot both the LDAP servers were showing thier addresses (IPv4) correctly. I can workaround it by disabling IPv6 on the ASA, letting it lookup the (IPv4) addresses of the LDAP servers (so they appear in the 'Server Address:' field above) and then re-enabling IPv6. Strangely deleting and re-adding the servers just with their IPv4 addresses also fails but I haven't fully tested this. I don't know but I think I would have the same behaviour if the RADIUS servers also had AAAA records.
I assume when IPv6 is enabled on the ASA it will perform AAAA lookups as well as A lookups but the LDAP client cannot use IPv6? Just guessing at the moment as I haven't managed to get a LAN capture. [code]

I have an issue about ACS v5.3 Appliance.I have an ACS v 5.3 wo authenticate wireless users, together with a cisco wlc. One profile is to corporate users and the second profile is to guest.
The corporate users should authenticate with Active Directory and the guest with WLC. Guest users should authenticate with the ACS Local Database. I have configurate two service selection policy that match with protocol Radius. The first rule is to users of Active Directory and the second is to users in
the Local Database of ACS.When i try to authenticate users with active directory is OK, but when try to authenticate users with Local Database (Guest Portal) the ACS try to find the
the internal user in the Active Directory, because math the first rule, and the second profile can not authenticate. When I change the order, first the Rule of internal users and second the rule of users of Active Directory, the internal users can authenticate in to ACS, but
the users in the Active Directory can not authenticate.I think my ACS only authenticate the first rule of radius to Active Directory, no two rules of radius in the same time. Or maybe exists an issue in OS of the ACS.The authentication by separately is OK.

1) Can this be done in ACS 3.3
2) What solution shall be used in this case ? can it be done in ACS 5.3 ?

But the ports are not active. Currently users are not passing through the NAC. When the ports are active and the users trying to access the network, the browser will ask the users to install the Cisco NAC Agent.I need t by pass this by installing the Cisco NAC agent through the active directory Group Policy. How to install the Cisco NAC agent (4.9.1) to all the users in the Network (Windows XP / 7 )through Active Directory so that the users will not know that the Cisco NAC agent has been installed in their computers. By this way the users need not install the Cisco NAC agent through the Web browser and will just login their user name and password and get into the network.

is there a way to assigen a QoS service policy via Radius to an Caltalyst 4500/3750 Switchport?
in detail, we would like to assign this policy
policy-map SET_EF class class-default set dscp ef
to an interface. All traffic should be marked with a defined DSCP value.
This works find when doing it statically with
interface FastEthernet2/1 service-policy input SET_EF
but we would need to assign such a policy via Radius during the 802.1x Authentication. different users should get differnt policies. We use Cisco ACS 5.2 as Radius Server and there actually is a field for that in the Authorization Profile Common Tasks Configuration. in detail, this uses the cisco-av-pair "sub-policy-In=<policy name>" attribute to assign a service policy to an NAS.
we found also two other attributes "sub-qos-policy-in" and "ip:sub-qos-polcy-in" for that. CCO says that "ip:sub-qos-polcy-in" works with Catalyst 65k [URL]
unfortunately this seems to not work on Catalyst 45k and 37k.
In the ACS Logs we can see that these attributes are attached to the Radius Reply, but unfortunately they are ignored by the switch.
it is interesing that when entering "show aaa attributes" on the Catalyst 45k, these attributes are displayd - so for my understanding the switch should understand these attibutes (?)
4503-E#sh aaa attributes AAA ATTRIBUTE LIST: Type=1 Name=disc-cause-ext Format=Enum Type=2 Name=Acct-Status-Type Format=Enum

In my switch I have the commands:
aaa new-model
aaa authentication login default group tacacs+ local
aaa authentication enable default group tacacs+ enable
aaa authorization config-commands
aaa authorization commands 1 default group tacacs+
aaa authorization commands 15 default group tacacs+ <--- tried diffrent apporaches whith priv level..
(and specied a tacacs server)
is the "default" under "aaa authorization commands 1x default group tacacs+" the name of the command set?
In the ACS I have specied a Authorization group and binded it to the command set, should the user have priv 15 for this to work or priv 1?(I have also specied a user and an identity group and specied ip ranges under "Network Devices and AAA Clients")
