Cisco Application :: 4710 Maximum 10 Http Header Map Is Allowed Per Policy
Nov 9, 2011
We are migrating from ACE 20 module to an ACE 4710 appliance. [code] When pasting in the config on the ACE 4710 running A4(2.1) code, I get the subject error message when trying to enter in the highlighted sticky-serverfarm command above. Again, this config works on the older hardware and older code.
We are using Cisco ACE 4710 to load balance servers. We have created VIP under the interface vlan using nat-pool command. Also, we have changed the gateway of the server to point to the ACE vlan ip address which is created using alias 10.x.x.x 255.x.x.x command under the interface vlan. In short ACE is in inline mode for the servers which needs to be load balanced.
But still I am not able to view the original client IP. Just to add more, the site is a HTTPS site & we have not doing any kind of SSL offloading on the ACE, it is taken care by server itself
I just want to do the HTTP & HTTPS load balancing without SSL offloading & should be able to see the original client IP in the server logs
For a CSS with a SSL module (performing SSL termination) - is it possible to impliment a redirect on https URL to send to equivalent http URL.If my understanding is correct, the CSS will do SSL termination and then use an http content rule on the resultant http stream as it is recursively handled by the CSS ? This would mean that the SSL module has no way of seeing/acting on layer 5 and above data (i.e. picking up on a specific URL) and can not itself issue a redirect - i.e. you could not associate a redirect statement or service with the following ssl content rule ? [code]The CSS would instead rely on a http content rule to impliment a redirect - i.e. you would have to associate a redirect statement or service to the following http content rule instead?
But if the CSS is already handling traffic for existing url... traffic that is going to cause a loop when a client goes direct to. url...I realise the requirment is uncommon / a bit convoluted, its one of those don't ask type scenarios - aimed at achieving a specific requirement.Would the ACE 4710 be able to handle such a scenario any differently ?
I am trying to make a redirect from http to https. the goal is whenever a user writes in http://10.80.199.71 it should be redirected to https://10.80.199.71 I am just haveing some trouble making it work.
I have ACE 4710 in context mode. I am doing internet browsing (Port 80) redirection to two proxy servers (Transparent Proxy) as well as I am using this ACE box for multiple other servers load balancing.
I have multiple policies applied on my LAN interface (VLAN 300) where all the users and servers are connected.
Now I am facing problem with one application (PLATTS) which is oil company related application. This application is working fine while directly connected with Internet (extrenal internet connection) or by giving explicit proxy in the user browser.
But In transparent proxy This application is not working and my company policy only allow the transparent proxy not explicit proxy.
Now if on my interface vlan 300 i will remove the service-policy input PM_MAIN_BCPROXY my application will start working but i cant redirect the port 80 traffic to my proxy servers which is also my requirement.
We had a PCI security audit of an existing VIP on our ACE 4710. The VIP is set up as HTTPS terminating on the ACE with a http redirect for all 80 traffic. The audit reported this VIP was vunerabled to the Cisco "IOS HTTP Authorization Vulnerability". Which basicly states, http Management is on this IOS device. It does not make any sense, as the VIP is pointed to a pair IIS servers?
I have a requirement to load balance OWA 2010 inbound connectivity to 2 CAS servers using a ACE 4710 with sticky sessions enabled.
The CAS servers are currently responding on 80 or 443 at this moment in time. Eventually I want to off load the SSL to the ACE 4710, its currently running on the CAS servers. I need to enable sticky sessions to keep the session to the same CAS server for each internet based connection. I also have a proxy enabled for inbound connectivity so I cannot use source IP.
Here is my configuration but it doesn’t seem to be working, i am currently testing with port 80 connections not SSL.
I hav ACE 4710, I am trying to configure a policy in which when specific Client tries to access the specific Destination. ACE should not send the traffic to load balancing. It should directly send to the next Hop.
I configred the below but didnt able to achieve my object.
access-list source_IP line 8 extended permit ip host 192.168.146.123 host 198.xx.xx.2 class-map match-all CM_BYPASS_SOURCE 2 match access-list source_IP
policy-map type loadbalance http first-match PM_L7_BYPASS_SOURCE class class-default forward
But I am not able to reach to destination. MY source traffic is still diverting to the Load balancing server. I dont want it to redirect to LB server
We are using a ACE 4710 with A3(2.6) software release.I had to change our sticky load balancing method for HTTPS to cookie based. However while connections appear to work if I look at the show sticky database table I can not see or confirm sticky entries for the cookie based connections. Here or config snippets to show the config
i have a 4710 appliance (one armed) and i am load balancing with two webservers. In the URL, there are links that need to be redirected to https:
i am using the
rserver redirect REDIRECT-TO-HTTPS[URL]
The https is working but i have a problem. when i access the Main link "first" it is redirected to https to the Main link. But if i access one of the Sublinks directly(without having to click on the main link first) the page is redirected to https but to the Main Link. i have to click the Sublink again in order to get the page. How can i redirect to https and stay on the same page? What might be the general link in the webserver-redirection?
We want to mask part of the path prefix to hide development content: For example: the site(s) are: [URL]However we don't want anything with acme showing...so we would want the loadbalanced url to be: [URL] ...for requests and responses. I think this would be an http re-write request/response scenario? Is this possible to configure this on the ACE Device? We've got the load balance configuration down...not sure how to do this re-write type scenario?
After replacing a Cisco CSS/SSL Accelorator and PIX firewall with an ACE 4710 to do load balancing and SSL encryption behind an ASA firewall we started seeing mangled HTTP requests in the Apache access logs for the servers in the server farm. This is occurring for several different URLs and not just the one above and for multiple web browsers. The ACE load balances to servers running Tomcat 7 with Apache HTTP server v. 2.2.14. A recent ACE software upgrade to A5(2.1) has not fixed the problem.
I know this sounds a simple and easy question, but I can't find the answer anywhere - so here it is :-I need to know the maximum number of vpn tunnels that a Cisco 881 can handle.(In context, we have a group of users, who work from home and this office, so their laptops have the cisco vpn client, I need to know how many of these vpn connections the 881 can handle at once before it dies a death.)Hote - I have read somewhere a line that state maximum number of users is 20 but think this was in reference to some VOIP service.
I created several rules to balance on a specific server somes apps. Everythings works great in http but no in https. In my example, i would like [URL] to be redirected to my server2 but it's always using the default rules instead of the L7CLASSSrv2. Today [URL] is well redirected. All other apps are correctly loadbalance with the stickyness effect but I can't handle the https connections.
class-map match-all L4-WEB-IP 2 match virtual-address xxxx tcp eq www class-map match-all L4-WEBHTTPS-IP 2 match virtual-address xxxx tcp eq https class-map type http loadbalance match-any L7CLASSSrv1
We have a ASA 5510 (v8.2.2 with ASDM 6..4.7, 256Mb mem) with a license for 250 VPN Peers. The machine has currently one site-to-site VPN active. I've added a remote-access IPSec VPN for some users but when connecting from the remote site the connection is dropped and the ASA reports %ASA-4-713239 Tunnel Rejected : The maximum tunnel count allowed has been reached.
I've searched for info relating to this message but I found none. Before I plan a restart (it's up for 222 days), is there something I could do on CLI to fix this ?
Just loaded the 22.214.171.124 software onto the brand new WiSM2. Going throught the options and have found that under the global parameters for 802.11a/n, 802.11b/g/n radios is now the "Maximum Allowed Clients" option. The allowed setting is from 1 - 200 clients.
Does that mean only 200 clients will be allowed to associate to the WLC on that radio at a maximum?
Doesn't seems to make sense... I have the 500 AP license on this WiSM2... I know this option used to be an optional setting under a WLAN in previous releases.
Report run via Individual Web server URL’sThe report takes less than 20 minutes (average 15 minutes) to fetch and return the data. This is observed 9 out of 10 times.Report run via ACE Load Balanced URLThe report keeps on running for more than 20 minutes and never completes. The front end keeps showing report is running. The data in general when tested directly by running queries against the database (bypassing the platform) completes in 15-18 minutesThe network connectivity for each and every ports involved (Loadbalancer/Servers) have been throulgly checked.
I have a number of web sites that are currently being load balanced by CSS 11503s runninng 8x code. I was recently requested to configure HTTP --> HTTPS redirects on the CSS for every site. In the past, I have only configured the redirects for sites that had a requirement. Now it appears that the server teams want all content encrypted.
1) What impact will this have on the CPU? 2) What impact will this have on Memory utilization? 3) Is there a maximum nubmer on redirects? 4) Are there other things I should be concerned about?
i'm looking for a recommendation for a setup guide including ft i've had a quick look a wiki and i can get basics but i'm not sure about if i need to setup additional contexts etc when i'm the only one using the appliance?
I have an issue with a customer that wants to update a server behind the ACE. The problem is that when the application wants to update the server it does it with the name.Doing some research I found that you can rewrite the record DNS based on the static NAT you set up on the ACE. The feature is called DNS inspection. Is the same feature as the ASA (DNS doctoring).I apply it to the outside interface and it did not work.
With the current (A5) ACE 4710 lic setup, does the "X gigabit per second appliance throughput" that is licensed affect: -
A) Only "appliance" i.e. load balancing traffic, any other normal routed traffic is not included in the limit
B) Is it an overall throughput limit on the interfaces i.e. includes all traffic not only load balancing traffic but also normal routed traffic crossing the appliance
Looking at a scenario where the lic size I need for HTTP load balanacing would be one size if A) but would need to be much larger is B) to accomodate out of hours routed backup traffic crossing the ACE 4710
I've got a web app that the owners want to run over port 80, but also using SSL to secure private data in transit. The architecture is an ACE 4710 in SSL termination mode->Apache (port 2000)->Back-End app server.
I've got two VIPs set up already - one on port 443 and one on 2000 - both of which do the SSL termination quite nicely, but using the 3rd VIP set up on port 80, the connection steadfastly refuses to be HTTPS (i.e. doesn't show the padlock).
I've done all the set-up through the web interface so far, can this be done? If so, how?
I am currently running A3(2.6) and evaluate the possibility of upgrading to A4(2.1). The Instal & Upgrade Guide A4(2.0) mentions that A4(2.0) does not include all features of A4(1.1). Does this apply to A4(2.1)? The Release Notes mentions a list of features merged from A4(1.1) to A4(2.1) but does not clarify if there any features not merged.
we configued An ACE 4710 with SSL termination on Oracle Aplication Server 10g (10.1.2.0.2) ,so that SSL termination is done on the ACE and HTTP reaches the Oracle Aplication Server 10g (10.1.2.0.2) then we configure the ACE to enabled client authentication with Pkcs#11 smart card token certificate and this don succfully my problem need do this client certificate authentication for only the [URL] not for all SSL proxy service how can do that.
