I have a WLC 2500 which I would like to configure with guest access. I want to set up a web passthrough with email input. Is it possible to collect the email address information? Is it stored somewhere in the controller or do I need some external server?

They want to have the users put in their email address to authenticate and they want to capture the email addresses to use for marketing campaigns. I know you can setup the login page to have them put in their email address, but i can't remember if you have to use an external web server to actually capture and record the email addresses.

At present I have a WLC5508 as a guest anchor in a DMZ and a web-auth passthrough WLAN configured. There is a custom web bundle providing a terms and conditions page.
We want to start to capture the minimum data from a user that logs onto the guest wireless ( email address ) and would like to use the check email function on the controller - BUT - at the same time move from using the web bundle locally hosted splashpage on the controller to an external web server provided splashpage / walled garden.
From my understanding not sure that this is possible as the email check function is only valid in passthrough I think.
I would like to integrate our intranet web page with Cisco WLC 2500. Is it possible to integrate custom web page with WLC. I know, that I can create custom authentication page, but what about creation of the user?
View 5 Replies View RelatedThis is the first time I am trying my hands on wireless gears. I have 2500 WLC and 1142 AP (which I converted from Standalone to LAP).I have a layer 3 POE switch where i am using port 1 for the WLC which is a trunk port.
Port 2 is for the AP using access vlan 111
Port 3 is trunk port going to a router where i am running dhcp server for the VLANs which are as follow:
VLAN 110 -Corp Wireless (10.1.110.0/24)
VLAN 111 - AP-Mgmt (10.1.111.0/24)
VLAN 999 - Guest (10.1.101.0/24)
I wanted to block the traffic from the Guest VLAN 999 but when i apply the ACL on the Guest Interface created on the WLC, I dont see any pings going across and neither I see any hit counts on the deny statement as if the ACL is never applied.
I just read that starting from version 7.4, the 2500 controller can be used to terminate guest anchor tunnels. have a question regarding the performance of the internal DHCP server when used in guest environments.

From what I can see it uses the hostname value as from address. The hostname in my case is ap02. Then you could try setting a mail address in the hostname field, but thats not allowed.

- User should able to connect to the SSID without any authentication.
- Once user will connec to the SSID it should redirect to an external URL which indicates terms and condition and email address field.
- User should enter his/her email address in email addrss filed and click I accept button.
- Once that is done then he/she is allowed to access internet.
We are not sure how can we achive this as I do not know what should be the return value for WLC to allow that user to go through or what should be the settings on the WLC to redirect to the page.
I have seen a settings on web authentication for external URL but I guess it is only for username passwor or Radius authentication. While in this case I do not want to use any authentication just an accept buttor or Decline button and all good to go.
I have a question about NAT behavior on FWSM 4.0. The problem is email server (Company A) cannot connect to email gateway (Company B) on the outside network and it randomly happen. I got this error from server guy "Detail: xlate has blocked the connection between A’s mail gateway and B’s mail gateway". It work fine again after clear xlate on firewall. [code]
1. How FWSM create xlate table like that? I mean it look like NAT0 for 158.137.21.26 but it doesn't has any nat rule for 158.137.21.26 on firewall.
2. What does it mean "connections 24" at the first of line? In the normal time, I only see the connections is 0 like the second line of xlate
3. After clear xlate global 158.137.21.26, the first line of xlate table is gone then email server can connect each other. Does is a bug on FWSM? or This is a normal NAT behavior of FWSM.

I recently setup a 2504 WLC that has two primary WLANs (internal and guest) which get their IP addresses from a central DHCP server using the local router's broadcast forwarding. Things seem to be working well for the internal wlan, but clients on the guest wlan don't seem to be getting IP addresses. If I give the client a static IP they are able to communicate across the wlan okay.
It is worth noting that I am using LAG between the controller and router and this guest wlan is really just a regular wlan (with PSK) that has an access-list applied to force it to the internet only. The access-list should be allowing dhcp requests through, but in any case, I removed the access-list and it made no difference.
Here is a debug client for a machine connected to the guest vlan (vlan 33). The internal wlan is on the 10.10.10.0/24 network (same as wired and same that the AP's are connected to) and the guest wlan is 10.33.0.0/16. I don't understand why I am seeing the dhcp request come from the internal vlan/ wlan first and it gets an IP address on this network. I then see a request on the guest wlan/vlan at which point it appears to get a valid IP address on the guest network (10.33.0.0), but the client never sees this. [code]
I setup a guest wired network on the WLC 5508 with 7.2.110. A postage machine can only be setup for static IP address over guest wired network. Is any one how to get it configure on the WLC 5508?
View 3 Replies View RelatedIn our test set up, we have two WLC 5508 Controllers connected via Checkpoint UTM-1 firewall Inside and DMZ Interfaces. Both the WLC controllers are connected to the firewall via Cisco 3750 switch. On the Local (Inside) Controller, guest SSID is enabled and attached to the wireless management Interface. On the remote anchor controller, guest SSID is enabled and attached to the Management Interface as well. The following configs are replicated on both the Controllers.
SSID Name - guest
Interface - Management ( VLAN 10 on Local and VLAN 20 on remote) -
Mobility Group: Same configs at both ends
SSID Anchor : Anchor SSID on local and local SSID on Anchor.
AP: CAPWAP 3502 Management Subnet

Is there any thing missing in the wireless configs and or the firewall rules as i could not see DHCP request back from the Anchor Controller. Also, after DHCP is obtained, the web authentication request will be redirected to an Amigopod device for authentication. In this case is the redirect URL congiguration to be performed only on the Anchor Controller or is this to be replicated on both the Local and Anchor Controllers.
with our WLC 5500 controller, once the clients get the DHCP address the page is not redirecting them to the guest portal.What is the best way to check as to why the redirection is failing.

Configuration commands are accepted by the router, but there are no packets in the capture buffer.In release notes for IOS-XE, in the 2.5 section, there is a statement that EPC is not supported on ASR1k.
