One of my Clients just aquired a CISCO ASA firewall, and they would like to restrict internet access, that is they want to block internet for Junior employees while managemnet remains connected, Looking at the situation, The ASA serves as the gateway,I tried an Access list like below for one pc to test if it works but instead everyone just went off, may be i misfired somehwere.
Access-list 110 deny tcp any host 192.168.20.100 eq wwwAccess-list 110 deny tcp any host 192.168.20.100 eq 443Access-list 110 permit tcp any any eq wwwAccess-list 110 permit tcp any any eq 443access-group 110 in interface inside

I need a way to block MAC OS X users connecting remotely to our coporate users over VPN. I know there is an option to block connections based on VPN client Version, but cant find a way to block users based on operating system.
We use Cisco ASA 5510 firewals one with v8.2(1) and other with v7.2(3). I need to do on both firewalls. They are both at diffrent sites.

in our VPN configuration (ASA5520, Anyconnect VPN Client), we have different VPN User Groups. These Group Policies are retrieved from an LDAP Server. We'd like to restrict the acess like this:
A Group "Home User" might establish a VPN from anywhere on the Internet
A Group "restricted 3rd party" should only be allowed to establish a VPN from their specific public Source IP Address on the Internet (the public IP Address of this 3rd party Company). When these Users try to connect from any other IP Address on the Internet(Home, hotel, etc), VPN Access should not work!
On our old solution, we were able to limit the remote access network, per user group, to some source IP's.
The IP Filters related to group policies in here seem only to be filters concerning the VPN Address (after the VPN is established: where can this user group connect to). But I did not find filters/access lists, where yoiu can define/restrict public access networks for some groups.Or is it possible to do that by Dynamic Access Policies? How?

I have Cisco ASA 5520 / ASA Ver: 8.0(4) / ASDM Ver: 6.1(3). I have configured Remote Access VPN and everything seems to be fine. Like i have created Extended ACL and allowed for singe host with particlar port to be allowed.
After login with the Anyconnect client, i am restricted to access the single host configured, but not based on ports. i.e. i do not want user to RDP the server allowed, but only access the application based on the port that is allowed. But somehow it is not working.
how can i allow user to access a server with defined port only and not any other service/port access for the server.

How would I go about configuring RADIUS based AAA for remote access VPN users? I have an OSX RADIUS server and an ASA 5510
(I want to keep console and SSH using LOCAL, so I keep this: "aaa authentication ssh console LOCAL", right?)What does the rest of the config look like to get RADIUS based AAA for remote access VPN users?

A customer has an ASA5520 and 2 ISP routers with one WAN link each, and wants to split the load over both routers based on source IP ("natted" IP on ASA). I found this excellent doc on the topic: {URL}. Using PBR to achieve this is an option I was looking at, but I have come across a possible loop doing this with 2 routers. Setup:
-----------CE-1---------ISP-1

ASA55020---- HSRP |

-----------CE-2---------ISP-2
Both Routers receive default routes via BGP, and customer networks are propagated via BGP as well (i.e. the customer can specify the return path for the traffic). The ASA5520 forwards traffic to a HSRP virtual IP for redundancy purposes. If one router or ISP fails, all the traffic should use the other router/ISP. The customer wants to specify which traffic is sent over which link, by defining nat rules on the ASA. e.g. traffic sourced from the network 10.10.1.0/24 will always use ISP 1, and traffic sourced from the network 10.10.2.0/24 will always use ISP 2.
My problem: if I use route-maps on both routers (CE-1 and CE-2), sending part of the traffic to the other, and one ISP link fails, in my opinion I have a loop, since part of the traffic will get sent back to the router it came from. Is there any other was to achieve my goal without using PBR? I have looked at CEF and GLBP, but I cannot seem to find a way to load share via source IP.

I have a customer with a Sonic wall that I want to replace with a 521.He currently has port forwaring setup so that only 3 ip addresses can access the port forward. Everyone else is dropped. Is there a way to do something similar?I can make it work for a single one via the DMZ tab with a source ip address. but there is not a way I can find to add the allow for the other two remote connections.

I have a requirement to select a farm based on source IP address. I tried creating a match all class-map that matches on the virtual-address and source address but I get this message.LB01/Admin(config-cmap)# match source-address x.x.x.75 255.255.255.255 Error: Only one match virtual-address is allowed in a match-all class-map and it cannot mix with any other match type To me this is the only place where it makes sense to set the source match criteria.

I have one public IP address but multiple local servers that run on the same port. I cannot change the port the clients use to connect to this server, so I can't do a port map in my NAT router. The solution I had in mind, is to filter on source address. If a client from public IP X.X.X.X connects to port Z, I want it to go to internal server 10.10.10.10 and if a client from public IP Y.Y.Y.Y connects to port Z, I want it to go to internal server 10.20.20.20. Is this possible? I'm using an ASA5510 but I could also switch to a 5505 for this.

Hardware version: A1
Firmware version: 1.01
Basically, I cannot connect to any game servers when I am connected through this router. I used my Android to tether into 3G internet and was able to connect without any issues so it's not OS-side at all. I've tried many settings arbitrarily one at a time, checking each time to no avail. Is there a particular setting that is screwing with this game? I've got the ports (27000-27100 TCP/UDP) forwarded and I've used a Port Checker tool to verify that they are open. Obviously it's something in the router that is blocking the connection..but what else is there to try?
Should I finally flash the 1.13NA firmware?

We have two ASA 5500 series Firewalls running 8.4(1). One in New York, another in Atlanta. They are configured identically for simple IPSecV1 remote access for clients. Authentication is performed by an Radius server local to each site.
There are multiple IPSec Site-to-Site tunnels on these ASA's as well but those are not affected by the issues we're having.First, let me start with the famous last words, NOTHING WAS CHANGED.
All of a sudden, we were getting reports of remote users to the Atlanta ASA timing out when trying to bring up the tunnel. They would get prompted for their ID/Password, then nothing until it times out.Sames users going to the NY ASA are fine. After extensive troubleshooting, here is what I've discovered. Remote clients will authenticate fine to the Atlanta Firewall ONLY IF THEY ARE USING A WIRED CONNECTION.
If they are using the wireless adapter for their client machine, they will get stuck trying to login to Atlanta. These same clients will get into the New York ASA with no problems using wired or wireless connections.Windows 7 clients use the Shrewsoft VPN client and Mac clients use the Cisco VPN client. They BOTH BEHAVE the same way and fail to connect to the Atlanta ASA if they use their wireless adapter to initiate the connection.
Using myself as an example.
1. On my home Win 7 laptop using wireless, I can connect to the NY ASA with no issues.
2. The same creditials USED to work for Atlanta as well but have now stopped working. I get stuck until it times out.
3. I run a wire from my laptop to the FiOS router, then try again using the same credentials to Atlanta and I get RIGHT IN.
This makes absolutely no sense to me. Why would the far end of the cloud care if I have a wired or wireless network adapter? I should just be an IP address right? Again, this is beyond my scope of knowledge. We've rebuilt and moved the Radius server to another host in Atlanta in our attempts to troubleshoot to no avail. We've also rebooted the Atlanta Firewall and nothing changed.
We've tried all sorts of remote client combinations. Wireless Internet access points from different carriers (Clear, Verizon, Sprint) all exhibit the same behavior. Once I plug the laptops into a wired connection, BAM, they work connecting to Atlanta. The New York ASA is fine for wired and wireless connections. Same with some other remote office locations that we have.
Below I've detailed the syslog sequence on the Atlanta ASA for both a working wired remote connection and a failed wireless connection. At first we thought the AAA/Radius server was rejecting us but is shows the same reject message for the working connection. Again, both MAC and Windows clients show the same sequence.Where the connection fails is the "IKE Phase 1" process.

we wish to implement IPSec remote access vpn with the condition that employees should be able connect to this vpn only from company issued laptops and not from any other computers. I assume using client side certs is one of the ways to do it but I couldn't find any doc that was really useful. Cisco's documentation seems quite obscure. We are on 8.1 (5520)

1. On a trunk uplink from an access layer switch to the Nexus, I have "mls qos trust dscp". Will the DSCP marking be preserved when it reaches the Nexus?
2. How do I do prioritization of voice traffic on an uplink on Nexus based on DSCP EF?

I have setup an asa 5505 with multiple sub nets (plus license) and a vpn tunnel (ipsec) between this and an other asa on a second branch office (multiple vlans) . Now I need to route only two vlans from the first site to reach some of the second branch networks
let's call them: 1 branch
A-172.16.4.0/24
B-172.16.2.0/24
2 branch
C- 10.10.10.0/24
D- 10.20.10.0/24
E- 10.66.10.0/24
the tunnelis ok From A to CDE . but from B to CDE won't come up. pinging is unsuccessful as well as all other traffic. the connection profile is setup to have both A and B as local networks and A and B by the moment share the same access rules configuration.
logs show firewall 1 let pass and build connections, without denies, but remote firewall does not receive a single packet from the source ip from network B.

We are trying to navigate the waters in choosing between a in-house, controller-based, wireless network solution or a cloud-based solution. We have been presented with the usual suspects in cloud-based (Aerohive, Meracki, etc) and with Cisco (5500) and Aruba on the other side. We are a multi-campus organization with approx. 200 APs.Any hard reasons why go with a controller-based vs. cloud-based solution? If we must keep the conversation limited to Cisco, why go Meracki over Cisco's WLC solutions or vise versa?

Our client ( a webhost, they have a lot of servers ) has a an older Cisco Pix, everything works fine with the PIX. They have a Cisco ASA 5500 with ASA version 8.3 , to replace the PIX. Upon migrating the PIX config to the ASA we are running into issues with Dynamic NAT. The static NAT entries are working flawlessly (there is a lot of them), however when Dynamic is enabled for the remainging hosts, outside communication works then drops off. The remaining hosts need outside access for updates. We have access lists set up but I dont se ehow that could cause a problem when the original ACL's were working fine with the PIX, they have not been altered.
The NAT config may be wrong or cluttered, have a look at the full NAT config.
The static NAT addressing is the same, example 207.11.129.65 will equal 10.10.10.65
