We've deployed WebVPN on Cisco ASA 5540 and its working fine with no trouble in relation to connectivity. My Anyconnect VPN users are able to download the client and connect to our corporate network.However, sometimes when I try to connect after entering the credentials it keeps saying Login failed.

I am a little new to Cisco ASA's but we bought two new 5540's to use as a new VPN solution for our company. We want to implement Cisco Anyconnect full client and Clientless based solutions for our end users. I am having problems working with setting up access lists based on groups. I simply want to create access-lists to certain IP's based on groups. I ultimately want to get to the point where we have Dynamic Access Policies that are based on Active Directory Groups allowing access to back end servers based solely on their group membership in AD. But first I need to figure out how to just apply an ACL on a group.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a ASA 5540+SSM-40 on which I have configured webvpn and it's listening for connections on the outside interface. It can be accessed from outside the network (the internet) and works just fine. The problem is, I want to access it from inside the network as well but it doesn't work. I can't ping or connect in any way to the IP address of the outside interface from inside (so I suppose it's not strictly related to the configuration of the webvpn).
I don't think it's a ACL issue because the only ACL filtering I do is on the OUTSIDE-IN (facing the internet), the rest are set to permit any.
What I have to do to be able to access the IP address of the outside interface from networks behind the inside interface?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have one server-A(windows 2008) installed one application called"host front" which gives athentication to connect Linux(mainframe console) server (SERVER B).These 2 servers are bihind the firewall.If one internal user who has the athentication to logine server-B ,tried to login server A,will get the" username and password"screen and once they enter the username and password ,will get the server-B screen.But if somebody try to connet via MPLS(we need to test MPLS site customers) from outside via ASA 5540 ,to server-A will get the "username password" screen and once enter the credentials, after 1 minitue will get error"http server faild to send datas to the server" and will not move to server -B screen.

My client is upgrading from anyconnect 2.5.2014 to 3.1.00495. The ASA is running ASA 5520 version 8.2(5)33 and is in an active/standby failover pair.when trying to push out the new 3.1 from the pair to windows 7 and XP machines, he gets the error "Failed to get configuration from secure gateway. Contact your system administrator". When he tries to push 2.5.2014 and 2.5.6005 out from the pair this works fine.When pushing the 3.1 out from a stand-alone test ASA 5520 it works fine.

We have a terminal server (C2901) set up with reverse ssh to all the devices including the above C4948E. Can this be the one to initiate the logins?
The IOS of both devices is as below:

I am unable to identify what is triggering the above logs to be created.

I have followed the config guides on the Cisco website as well as the config guides elsewhere on the internet to no avail. I have two sets of local users who access internal networks vai the Anyconnect application on a Cisco ASA 5505.One user needs to access 1 ip address while about 7 users access abotu 4 addresses.
I have a group called xyz1 which currently has the one user in the connection profile. I guess to reaffirm my thought, If I create another connection entry called xyz2, can I assign the other 7 or 8 users to it?
If I can do this, how can I ensure that each connection entry only has access to specific IP addresses on the internal network?
I have the problem, that when I want to connect to the VPN Gateway (ASA 5510) with the AnyConnect Client 3.0 I will get the error "Failed to load preferences" when I try to connect via the SSL Portal of the ASA, everthing works fine... I have tried to reinstall the Client - without any success.

Requirements for 8.4(2) are acomplished: For the ASA 5505, only the Unlimited Hosts license and the Security Plus license with failover enabled require 512 MB; other licenses can use 256 MB.Are installed latest AnyConnect packeges for linux, some smatphones (each 4-5 MB). But for Windoes it's 21 MB and we got error "Failed to unzip the Anyconenct Package". In prior IOS version there was command cache-fs limit, by default it was 20 Mb. As i understand ASA now dinamically determines amount of cache memory and it's not enough. Because of the increased size of the AnyConnect package from 4MB in AnyConnect 2.5 to 21 MB in AnyConnect 3.0, you may need to upgrade the ASA flash and memory card first.If your ASA has only the default internal flash memory size or the default DRAM size (for cache memory) you could have problems storing and loading multiple AnyConnect client packages on the ASA. Even if you have enough space on the flash to hold the package files, the ASA could run out of cache memory when it unzips and loads the client images.So there is a question, after DRAM upgrade to 512 MB will be there enough cache memory for Anyconnect packeges with total size 35-40 Mb?
I recently got my hands on the latest Secure Mobility VPN v3.1.01 client. We are upgrading from the old anyconnect 2.4 client so there are many changes that are catching us by surprise. The biggest issue I have right now is that the new Mobility VPN launches automatically when a user signs into a machine. We would like to disable that automatic connection/launch feature. With the old 2.4 client we simply disabled the AnyConnect Service in Services.msc by default and started it up when a user was ready to connect.

When loaced from safari in Mac OS, it also works fine. -- If I browse to the url, like vpn.xxx.com/profilename, I can login and anyconnect will start and connect automatically. Only when run from applications > Cisco > Cisco Anyconnect Secure Mobility Client, I will get this failure. Is this a configuration issue?

I have a website account with fatcow. I created the website with Dreamweaver software and uploaded it to fatcow via port 21.My internet connection was via xplornet and I had no access problems. I upgraded to xplornet's new g4 system and now I can no longer access my account online or upload to my website.We have two computers. The first is a desktop system that has the dreamweaver software. The second is a laptop which connects wirelessly. We share the signal through a dlink router. The modem is a viasat Surfbeam 2 residential satellite modem.1. When I attempt to login to the fatcow control panel, the tab shows successfully authenticated and then re-directs me back to the login page. This happens on both the laptop and the desktop.
I have tried bypassing the router and the problem still exists.I took the laptop to the computer center and I can login to the account no problem.I used a free proxy server page on the internet and can login from my home system on my desktop no problem.I have completely turned off virus scan and firewalls. It doesn't work. I have tried IE7, Chrome, Firefox and they all have the same problem. The laptop runs IE8 and has the same problem.I can ping the page successfully. I can traceroute the page successfully. I can't nslooup any site at all. I get the domain not existant message.My ip and dns settings are the automatically find option.I have renewed ips and dumped the dns cache.Using alternate dns addresses doesn't rectify the problem. When I attempt to upload via dreamweaver, I connect but within seconds I get a Dreamweaver message that says "Connection to remote host has been lost. Click refresh to continue" and the log reads "FTP Error. Dreamweaver could not connect to server." I haven't taken my desktop anywhere to try to see if it works on a different network. I'm in a remote location (hence the satellite internet)and it is an hours drive to the nearest private internet connection and a 2 hour drive to the nearest public connection.
We have a Linksys WRT120N wireless router set up at one of our small offices. I noticed recently when trying to log in to the router to make some admin configurations that it will not accept the login credentials when trying to log in from IE10 browser. Works fine from Chrome, IE9, ect. logging in to a linksys router with IE10?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Cisco ASA 5540 running 8.2(5). When I dial a phone on the other of the the VPN the first time I get a blank after it rings(i.e when the voice mail get activated if someone picks the phone up), however works the second and consequent times i dial.
A little background. Two sites A and B connected via IPsec Tunnel. No problems in communication except for the VoIP issue. A Phone in on site A(172.17.168.x) and other on site B(192.168.103.x). Site A and Site B is connected via an IPsec tunnel on the Cisco ASA. First call fails. Second call works. Result of a packet trace is also the same. The UDP packet get drops when tried for the first time but subsequent ones pass.

I have a site to site vpn to set up between an asa 5540 and an 800 router
i only want the vpn to be initiated from the asa with the remote 800 listening for inbound connections
i know i can set the connection type on the asa as originate-only but i can find a command equivalent to answer-only for the remote 800
Is it sufficient to simply configure the asa as originate-only for this crypto map
