View 3 RepliesDell Online is saying my desktop is out of warranty and I cannot lodge and email service request.i have noticed with my XPS8300 then when playing games (not online) or when streaming videos, the wireless NIC will either disconnect (and refuse to reconnect even though it can see the network) or remains connected but does not allow any traffic to flow. The wireless NIC returns to normal roughly a minute afer I have exited / closed a game.
If I try to run online games (i.e. COD Black Ops), I constantly get the "Connection Interrupted" error message despite the wireless NIC showing full connection. To test whether if it's the room, I brought in my laptop and it did not have the same issue. Therefore, I am thinking it could be the half-mini wireless NIC.I have tried looking everywhere but nobody seems to have experienced this or have a solution. Dell just told me to reinstall the drivers, which I've done but to no avail.
i have the same laptop model "inspiron 15 3521". wifi used to work in a specific room, now it says "limited connectivity".

View 5 Replies View RelatedSo basically, everytime i play a game (Grand Theft Auto), i can be on it for about 10 seconds before it makes a weird sound and then i lose internet connection. I have re-installed my game, updated my drivers, and i do not have any viruses. Also, i use a Dell Inspiron 1525 (i know its a horrible pc), once i lose connection i have to restart my PC just to get my internet connection back, and when it is done restarting, it says there is a problem with my WLAN card.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI got a new router, a Cisco Linksys EA3500, and everything works fine and no one else in my family notices anything wrong. Everything works and I don't have trouble accessing the internet, but whenever I play a game online it will disconnect me after a while. Sometimes it disconnects me after 5 minutes and sometimes after 30 minutes. I have this problem with every game I play, except for Runescape. The weird thing is that I talk to friends on steam when we are playing and it doesn't get disconnected I can hear them fine, and my internet access bar at the lower right doesn't say I'm disconnected.Streaming and downloading work as well.I tried to port forward and I assumed it would work but I still had the same disconnection problem. I tried to port forward again but this time I used the tool at portforward.com to check if they were forwarded properly and it said your port is not open or not reachable. I tried this with a lot of random ports and it said the same thing.
View 16 Replies View RelatedI am having the same exact problem with the random freezing. I used to be sponsored on Xbox 360 for call of duty black ops and my mom met this guy and i had to move into his house, So now i had to drop my sponsorship and everything because i randomly freeze for about 3 seconds and then unfreeze and i jump forward and catch up to what apparently i was doing but not doing on my screen. It even happens on world of warcraft on my computer and it is very aggravating to have to deal with. And just like Cassius is saying "the ping spikes ruin online gaming entirely and tbh."
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhenever playing a game on my laptop such as WOW or EvE online my wireless internet will disconnect. I have a button on my keyboard that turns my wireless on and off like many laptops do, and when playing these games after a couple minutes it will be turned off and I need to restart my computer to be able to get my wireless working again. This must be a problem with my computer and not the internet itself because I'm on campus and I see many other people playing games here.

I have Planet modem ade-4400 linked to a Digitus ethernet Dn 5001a that I use to connect my 2nd PC.The problem is that everytime, both PCs are connected I constantly get lag spikes while playing games. Also, seemingly on random occasions, no matter what programs I run in the background my connection gets disabled with a yellow exclamation mark over my network icon. I get a "The default gateway is not available" error once I troubleshoot, and the connection works fine afterwards.
However, recently after I updated the windows I think, I get another error that says "The connection between your access point, router, or cable modem and the Internet is broken" along with the gateway one. Also, recently, I started having lag spikes regardless of the other computer being connected to mine after the error, and once I turn on my pc. Could it be somehow related to Microsoft security essentials? Since I've installed it at about the same time when the lag-after-the-error started happening.
Error seems to happen more often when I watch something on the internet, or when I quickly browse through the web-pages, or when I'm downloading something. I'm using Windows 7, and another thing to note is that the other computer DOES NOT receive these kinds of errors, and I do believe it does not lag while playing games. The lag after the error and after I start up my pc goes away after some time.
Every time I play League of Legends, Rumble fighter, or Maplestory, about 20-30 minutes into the game, my laptop disconnects from my router. Then, when I try to reconnect, the router connection thing magically disappears from the settings. This forces me to restart my laptop. When I DO restart my laptop, the connection is there again. Everything is fine when I surf the web.
View 1 Replies View Relatedtry to play online games but i can't because i get so many ping spikes. I started investigating and i've noticed that i'm getting ping when pinging my router. I'm using wlan and i can't use ethernet. Also the bandwidth is really low on the connection, 512 kbps Also, there are more than 1 computers connected, even if they dont use the connection constantly
View 11 Replies View RelatedNow there is an issue that I don't really know how to deal with it and its the multiplayer games ping that I get lately , its about 3 months that I get very high pings when connecting online to a multiplayer server , no matter which game it is , the same happens.
I was getting around 380-470 ping while playing on an European server , but then we solved my last problem (The someone that was connected to my home network) and it reduced the ping to something around 250-300 (sometimes it drops to 100-120).
It is still very high , 3 months ago I had a real bad internet connection and when I was playing on European server's I was getting a stable ping of 100-120 that was normal !
A friend of mine got the same connection that I have and he gets a ping of 100-120 and we play on the same servers (same ISP too).
How can I know where the problems come from ? I did move to a new house in a new area , maybe the ISP server's over there are weak and over loaded ? Because when its like 02.00 AM I am getting a stable ping of 100-120 . What is going on here ? Is there a possibility to ask the ISP to move my connection to another area servers or something like that ?
My computer has started acting really weird. My internet connection is fine except when I try to play a game online I'll be on for a few seconds and then the connection shuts down. Not just for the game but for everything. When I used windows troubleshoot it had these errors."the connection between your access point router or cable modem and the internet is broken default gateway is not available: detected" and"the default gateway is not available:fixed"After I do that I have a connection again but the same thing happens when I play another game.I have tried updating my drivers, scanning for malware of all sorts, registry cleaning, and I even reformatted.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm using a Sierra wireless 4g aircard for internet access, the ISP is Clearwire. Normally it works fine with no problems, but a few days ago I started getting a connectivity issue. When playing games, even games that don't use the internet connection at all, and ONLY playing games (it's fine as I type this, I'm even dling something in the background), the connection will be lost, and the thing will immediately reaquire the signal and reconnect, the whole process takes like 20 seconds. The result is it's impossible to play games, I get 10k ms lag spikes every couple minutes that last for about 30 seconds, and if I'm playing most server based games (Steam Source games) I just get disconnected outright.

I can't connect directly to the modem because it's my roommates internet and it's connected to her computer so my only option is wireless or to connect directly via adapter that goes through the power outlets in the house. It's getting very annoying skipping around and it's almost impossible to play diablo 3 with this lag. I notice I drop a lot of packets when pinging to the diablo 3 server and I don't know why.

View 1 Replies View RelatedJust about 2 weeks ago, I keep getting disconnected from games that I play. It will boot me off of the game but I will still have internet access. I've tried upgrading the firmware, had linksys techs resetting the router, gotten a new modem from my ISP. Hardwired the PC that I normally use.The router that I have is a WRT120N, each and everytime a linksys tech reset it's basically the same thing with the same disconnecting problem afterwards. I'm thinking it's usually when another phone device tries to connect to the wifi that it boots me off. I have 2 pc's, one laptop and my iphone that connects fine w/o any problems but when another android or iphone connects it causes me to disconnect.

As you might notice, this is a huge problem for many online games.

Turned off Win7 firewall , but no change. Shows unidentified connection in Network and Sharing Center. Router SSID etc were correctly entered. Deleted WLAN profile and reentered , no change.

where my internet dropped alot while playing ps3.i switched from my horrible d-link router to a DIR-655 Since i bought it, i've never dropped but my connection speed is an issue when playing my ps3.I use a wired connection through my router.some periods during the day it's 2 mbps download.. that's really slow considering my computer has 20 mbps download through wired connection.some periods during the day it runs fine @ 4 mbps - 5 mbps download (this is fine for gameplay but it lags a bit)if i directly connect my modem to my ps3 - it goes 20 mbps download (amazing fast speed)I called d-link technical support and did everything from port forwarding to turning on DMZ and putting my ps3 IP in there. I have a 2 part question: is there anything i can do to boost my ps3 connection download speed as high as it would be if it was connected straight to my modem while using a wired connection to my router? if that's not possible, is there anyway i can keep a stable download speed @ 5mbps?
View 4 Replies View RelatedIt was fine, online games like ARMA2 and Everquest2 worked w/o fail (for hours and hours).
My son went to get on one day and the ARMA game would let him sign in, then drop him. I told him it was the game as it is a bastardized program from several programmers and i just assumed it was a software issue. Then I decide to get on Everquest2 and it does the same thing to me, you log in, you get started and 1 min later in drops you. Both his game and mine give you a "server not found" error even when you were just online and playing. Everquest even starts looking for "log in servers" 1-6 and fails on all. I can log off and get right in again, but only for 1 to 2 min. then dropped.
My other internet connections work fine. Sony PS3, no problems....my wifes Dell laptop, no problems, my other Dell (while playing ARMA2 and Everquest2) no problem.

I've had the dir655 for about a year now, and no problems at all, until about a week ago. I went into a couple of online games (Bad Company 2 and World of Tanks) and would have a low ping showing in the game, but every 10-15 seconds, especially in areas with a lot of action, I would get large amounts of lag, making the games unplayable.I would be unable to move or keep getting 'teleported' back 20 feet. I looked into it maybe being the servers, steam in the case of bad company, or my internet provider, but regular internet actions are not affected at all. After searching for a while tweaking settings, turning off antivirus and firewalls, it made no difference.I finally today plugged my modem directly into my pc instead of leaving it on wireless, and all the problems go away. All packet tests and connection tests to my router have come back with no errors. Again, I have never had a problem just browsing the web or watching videos, and usually get more speed on speedtest.net than my provider even advertises. I also upgraded the router firmware.I tried going into my router settings and doing all I could (as I understand it) to have exceptions, port forward, and even did the one thing (can't remember what it's called) where you add one ip address that will have no limitations put on it by the router, and none of this has made it work.

When I go to get a list of servers when playing games online, my router lights up and then crashes, and I cant get on the internet again until I exit the game. Although, some games do work. There are no problems with my firewall, and if I connect directly to my modem, I can play fine.
