Dell :: Inspiron M5030 - How To Activate Bluetooth Using Wireless Switch
Sep 15, 2011
I have just recently bought a Dell inspiron m5030 and after downloading the driver for bluetooth from DELL website and trying to install it a window saying Activate Bluetooth using Wireless Switch is shown. I pressed Fn+F2 but nothing happened.
I have installed wireless 365 bluetooth driver but then of course the pop up says to activate the bluetooth using wireless switch. No dice. When I press the wireless switch I only see my wi-fi connection. I have checked device manager and no bt shows there. Also when I type 'bttray' under the start menu nothing shows up in the search.
Is this laptop even able to support bluetooth? I have searched through many other similar questions and have been unable to find any info on this for the n7010.
BTW: Windows 7, x64... let me know if you need other info.

I have Windows 7 , home premium 64 bit OS
My laptop, Dell inspiron m5030, for some reason has stopped connecting to my wireless Internet, yet my iPad can. My dell model is dell inspiron 15z. . I have just brought it one month ago. The main issue is that when i have pressed Fn+F2 key to turn on wifi ,the led representing the wifi has been glowing but in network centre it has been showing off .when i have pressed the above key instead of turning on wifi now bluetooth has been turned on. Whether it is software or hardware issue.
Up until a few days ago I had perfect wifi, but then all of a sudden, my wifi adapter disappeared. It's not a matter of turning it off/on. It has disappeared from device manager too, showing only Atheros AR8152 PCI-E Fast Ethernet Controller (NDIS 6.20). There used to be 802.11b/g/n WiFi thing there before.
I've tried system restore, reinstalling drivers, reinstalling windows. I succeeded for some time after I managed to update my Microsoft .NET Framework 4, and it worked until I went to sleep, but the laptop into sleep mode too, and in the morning it was gone again.

I'm working on an M5030 that has a red X on the wireless and will not find any networks.
- The ethernet connection WORKS
- The fn+f2 wireless switch combo seems to do nothing
- I've updated the bios
- I've uninstalled and installed the latest driver
- I've installed external USB wireless adapter but it has same issue
- I've scanned for malware, all clean.
When I go to network adapters it has signal bars on the wireless adapter but when I right click -> connect disconnect -> nothing shows as available. If I diagnose, it just says there may be a problem with the wireless adapter. I've tried DISABLING ZoneAlarm firewall to no avail also.
