Ok i have a dell inspiron m5030 running windows 7. The wifi card that came with it is the atheros 9285. It was working then out of know where i logged off and logged back in when i changed classes and it doesnt work anymore. In the device manager it says it is installed but cannot start.
(Before this I was able to connect with wifi almost instantly without a problem.)
My laptop, Dell inspiron m5030, for some reason has stopped connecting to my wireless Internet, yet my iPad can. I have tried dissconnecting from the Internet and connecting again but it just keeps saying it can't, Even the troubleshooting diagnoses doesn't work and I have already tried disconnecting the wireless Ethernet from the outlet and restarted it but,it doesn't work. to get my laptop to start connecting to the Internet fully today!

Have completed complete scan at Dell and results are everything is fine no problems. Am I able to download another driver. I am unable to locate my driver in the download option list. View 5 Replies View RelatedUp until a few days ago I had perfect wifi, but then all of a sudden, my wifi adapter disappeared. It's not a matter of turning it off/on. It has disappeared from device manager too, showing only Atheros AR8152 PCI-E Fast Ethernet Controller (NDIS 6.20). There used to be 802.11b/g/n WiFi thing there before.
I've tried system restore, reinstalling drivers, reinstalling windows. I succeeded for some time after I managed to update my Microsoft .NET Framework 4, and it worked until I went to sleep, but the laptop into sleep mode too, and in the morning it was gone again.
I'm writing this while basically sitting on my modem. The cable connection works just fine.I'm running a win7 x32.

I am able to see my neighbours' networks and can access my own network with my phone, tablet etc. The driver is up to date according to Windows and is functioning correctly. I reinstalled the OS yesterday and the wireless was working fine last night. To the best of my knowledge, nothing has been altered.

Computer is auto-updated by Windows, McAfee, Secunia, and frequently checked with System Mechanic, McAfee, Lavasoft, MalwareBytes. One of the auto updates may have been interrrupted.Says Wireless adapter "not present"...Does not recognize wireless in the area. Try to "repair" adapter, but message says adapter not present.I then use System Restore to 4 day earlier date and laptop connects immediately. I see a new symbol "Local Area connection on Actiontec m1000 has been added in the Network Connection window, and the Wireless Network Connection says it is connected to the correct network that has worked fine for several years.I have several Windows updates for the Malware Tool that install immediately if I reboot, but then I cannot connect to the network and have to use System Restore (which is taking longer and longer to restore...appx 1.5 hrs now).

- The ethernet connection WORKS
- The fn+f2 wireless switch combo seems to do nothing
- I've updated the bios
- I've uninstalled and installed the latest driver
- I've installed external USB wireless adapter but it has same issue
- I've scanned for malware, all clean.
When I go to network adapters it has signal bars on the wireless adapter but when I right click -> connect disconnect -> nothing shows as available. If I diagnose, it just says there may be a problem with the wireless adapter. I've tried DISABLING ZoneAlarm firewall to no avail also.
His laptop is windows7 installed and it's unable to connect to the home router. It worked until afternoon, then the laptop was off for a while and since then it's not connecting. Rebooted both router and laptop several times. Other devices in house connects to the router but the laptop shows no connection present.

I don't know how to find the bluetooth feature of my laptop anymore now that I have windows 8 installed. My phone scans for it, and can no longer find it.
I have connected my phone to the laptop, it installs the phone, but cannot find the photos and videos that I have on my phone, even thought there are tons of them.

I have a dell Inspiron 1545, and I recently had to re-install windows Vista(SP2) onto it because of a Trojan that snuck its way onto my hard drive I only had the Installation disc for the OS, and I'd lost the driver re-install disk. I went onto the Dell website and found all the required drivers for my computer. (I used my exact service tag and express code), I downloaded all of the drivers and ran them, and everything seemed to be working fine. Shortly after re-installing all of the drivers, I noticed that I could not connect to the internet through my wireless connection. I've tried all the keyboard shortcuts to "turn on" my wireless connectivity, I've tried installing a whole number of recommended wireless card drivers, and to no avail. This is a serious problem to me, as I am very active on the internet. My Ethernet connection works fine, (that's how I'm online posting this right now), my wireless card troubles.

Now when I look for wireless connections can not find any. Hard wire works fine. Trouble shoot states there may be a problem with one or more of my network adapters. Not very computer savy....But did find a way to run a Ping test and pass. Clicked on my 1502 Draft 802.11n WLAN Mini card and it states this device is working properly. Opened Broadcom control suite and it shows a Red X on the intergrated controller and the wireless card. with option to run a test or explanation of the Red X.
Do I need a new card or is there something else conflicting with it.. I find it hard to believe the card crashed right when I rebooted the Router...ISP sent a tech out but was not able to find problem.

This morning my internet was unreliable, and dropping every minute or so. Trying to trouble shoot, I switched the router off then on again. Now I have no wireless signal between my laptop and router. The router doesn't seem to be recognising the security password. I have not changed the password - this is still the original password for the router. Other devices are still talking wirelessly to the router.
I use a laptop and recently the wifi has stopped working for me. I can still connect completely but it says with "limited access," which results in me being unable to access the internet at all. Network troubleshooter finds problems with both cable and wifi adapter, and everything is fine on device manager, and but nothing shows up on ipconfog/all command. Windows Device Manager tells me the device is working normally. The WiFi switch is on but the WiFi catcher doesn't find any networks.
