Oct 17, 2011We have a Dell Inspiron E 1405 in which we replaced the hard drive. We have been unable to connect to our wireless AT&T Uverse 2WIRE router at home. We have tried many different ideas from the Internet, but nothing anybody suggests has worked. We are not very computer-savvy, so we are probably missing something that would be quite obvious to pros. We have Windows XP on this laptop.

Jan 9, 2009Recently had to reinstall windows vista on my inspiron 1501. All is okay now except I cannot connect to the internet. Technically I am connected to the wireless network but I cant get on the web. Im going around in circles following error msgs but they all seem to point to an issue with DNS. Ive run cmd to save time.

I re-installed the drivers, but my wirless card does not work,
The Dell wirless program states the radio is disabled press Fn-F2 to activate it
Fn-F2 has no effect.

Nov 8, 2012I just updated my OS from Windows 7 to 8, and I bought a new Galaxy S 3. Nobody seems to be ready for Windows 8 functionality. I don't know how to find the bluetooth feature of my laptop anymore now that I have windows 8 installed. My phone scans for it, and can no longer find it.
I have connected my phone to the laptop, it installs the phone, but cannot find the photos and videos that I have on my phone, even thought there are tons of them.
I thought perhaps I could Bluetooth them to the laptop, but so far, it's been nothing but a frustrating morning trying to locate the bluetooth function, and Dell's website doesn't seem to understand that people actually upgrade their systems to Windows 8, so there's no support there as far as drivers go.
I've got an Inspiron 17R, conveniently out of warranty, service tag <ADMIN NOTE: Service tag removed per privacy policy>.

May 9, 2012Inspiron 1720 lost wireless connection after Service tech had me reboot Wireless router for other issue not relating to this computer. Now when I look for wireless connections can not find any. Hard wire works fine. Trouble shoot states there may be a problem with one or more of my network adapters. Not very computer savy....But did find a way to run a Ping test and pass. Clicked on my 1502 Draft 802.11n WLAN Mini card and it states this device is working properly. Opened Broadcom control suite and it shows a Red X on the intergrated controller and the wireless card. with option to run a test or explanation of the Red X.
Do I need a new card or is there something else conflicting with it.. I find it hard to believe the card crashed right when I rebooted the Router...ISP sent a tech out but was not able to find problem.

I was been using BSNL DNA A211-I wireless modem Since 1 yr. there used to be some router issues every 3 months and i used to re configure the router setting and re establish the wifi connectivity. but recently few days back I have uninstalled Norton antivirus and installed Kaspersky Internet security 2011( Trial version) even then things were fine for few days, i was able to connect. But suddenly 2 days back i connected my laptop along with the modem for one whole day without any activity . and on the next day when i try to reboot my system and connect to my internet i was not able to find the the wireless icon ITI in the available wireless connections list. The wireless connection was not detected by my laptop. my Wifi on my laptop is also on.I tried the below possible ways but could not get the connectivity1. re setting the router configurations2. switching the firewall off and tried to connectAll the 4 LED are glowing on the router, even when trying to connect PPPoE through LAN (with wire) it is connecting occasionally ie.. once for every 15 attempts. most of the time it is giving 815 errorI tried to the below commands from cmd prompt as wellnetsh int ip reset reset.lognetsh winsock reset catalogipconfig/flushdnsipconfig/registerdnsbut nothing happened.

Jun 16, 2012I have a dell Inspiron 1545, and I recently had to re-install windows Vista(SP2) onto it because of a Trojan that snuck its way onto my hard drive I only had the Installation disc for the OS, and I'd lost the driver re-install disk. I went onto the Dell website and found all the required drivers for my computer. (I used my exact service tag and express code), I downloaded all of the drivers and ran them, and everything seemed to be working fine. Shortly after re-installing all of the drivers, I noticed that I could not connect to the internet through my wireless connection. I've tried all the keyboard shortcuts to "turn on" my wireless connectivity, I've tried installing a whole number of recommended wireless card drivers, and to no avail. This is a serious problem to me, as I am very active on the internet. My Ethernet connection works fine, (that's how I'm online posting this right now), my wireless card troubles.

Aug 20, 2012I recently reinstalled XP but 8 yrs ago Dell forgot to give me a drivers/utilites disk (I got 2 for the monitor instead).I downloaded the ethernet driver from my other computer via USB, installed it and since I now had internet access, I was able to directly download the remaining drivers via my service tag Computer & all programs are running like new again, but I KNOW my 3000 had wireless before but under Device Manager/Network, it only shows an Intel PRO/100 VE (my original paperwork say Intel PRO/100M). I know it had wireless before - my ASUS router wasn't wired to the computer and internet access was great. I want to ditch the pesky cord again.

Jun 28, 2013I'm trying to configure a L3 switch with some vlans. Despite we add a "ip default-gateway", that is displayed on the "show run", when we look "show ip route" there is no default gateway or gateway of last resource.On the show running we see the following:

One server connected to the vlan 32 is not able to ping the switch svi on vlan 36 (10.221.36.105).When we look the "show ip route" we see that the default gateway is not set.Ip routing is enabled on the switch. I tested the same configuration on my simultator and it works fine.I'm attaching the "show running", "show version", "show protocols" and "show ip routing".The ip routing is enabled on the switch!

I took it to a friend's apartment to use their computer and internet to search for options and it still didn't recognize any networks around, now not even the computer-to-computer connection. The Mini doesn't have a "switch," but I read where F2 can turn it on...however, pressing Fn-F2 is not working for me, either.

My home network is now open and unencrypted (running G), but it still wont connect. However, I installed a USB wireless adapter, and I can connect without issue. So I dont think its a firewall, etc. I think its something with the built in adapter...

Although I had to install windows 7 32 bit and I am facing a driver issue with wireless adapter. When I try to connect to the preferred network I get "Unidentified Network - No Internet Access".
I know this is a driver problem because it works well on Ubuntu. So as the original configuration from Dell site lists: "WIRELESS : DELL WIRELESS 1703 CARD"

However, now I can't get on the internet on that computer to update the drivers, and I can't find anything that'll let me do it without internet.I don't have an independent network card, just what's built into my motherboard. Haven't been able to find the driver for it, only programs that will find it for me, using said internet.
