View 21 RepliesI have Dell XPS L502X, Windows 7 Home Premium. My internet was working last night but when I turned it on this morning it would not connect. It is connected to my bt homehub with full strength but no internet access. It says IPV4 No Internet Access. I tried using a wire to connect it but that did not work either.Other devices are connecting. So can't be a problem with the internet itself. [code]
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have been using Dell Vostro-1320 laptop with Windows XP. It was running good. Recently I have installed the McAfee Internet Security software. But now I do not have internet access through this laptop although the network icon shows "connected". I have tried all the advice/solutions for such type of problem by doing Firewall off/on and changing adapter & network setting. I also updated all the drivers. But nothing works. It is notable that my other desktop is working properly in spite of installing this software.

I turned it on today and it automatically connected to my home network as usual and when I hover over the network icon it says there is Internet Access but when I open Firefox it can not connect to any websites. When I run the automatic troubleshooter, it does not detect any problems with the connectivity.
I ran ipconfig /all and this is what came up:

Dell XPS L502x
Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit
6 GB RAM
Intel Centrino Wireless-N1030
Our router is a Linksys Wireless-G 2.4 GHZ WRT54GL
I am aware of the PSP issue and have turned off the option to allow the computer to turn off the adapter and have set the power settings to the highest settings for both battery and plugged in. I have messed the routers security and the computer will not connect unless I turn off the security entirely. It connects but is slow. Anything else and it will not connect at all. Regardless, it can always detect the network without a problem and shows signal strength of Excellent (full bars) even when it is running slow. It works great on a cable or with a wireless usb adapter. I am positive that I am entering the password correctly as i have done this many times now. All other wireless devices in the house connect without a problem including her old Dell laptop.I have updated all the drivers (including the adapter) and keep current on all the Windows updates.when I run the ipconfig /all it lists all my wireless adapters and the blue tooth as "media disconnected". Not sure if that is referring to not being connected to the network or something else.
using a Dell Inspiron 1100, XP professional, which will no longer work wirelessly - D-Link DWL-G650 Wireless Cardbus Adapter. I am presently using it via an ether net connection. "Network Connections" indicates that I am connected, but I am unable to access any websites.

I recently took my Dell Inspiron1545 out of sleep mode and my wireless internet connection no longer works.i have tried power cycling the 2-wire modem and the Cisco Valet router and resetting as well. I also have another laptop and xbox that use this network and are having NO issues in connecting and working perfectly fine.
The only device not working is the Dell laptop. I've tried removing the network profile, uninstalling the wifi driver and reinstalling after powercycling the computer and still nothing but limited connectivity only The WLAN utility has stated that the "Gateway IP Ping" has failed Now the laptop will connect to internet via LAN cable however will not to WiFi
I have attached the IPconfig spec sheet and hopefully somewhat can steer me in the right direction and get me back up an running.

View 11 Replies View RelatedI have three computers at home: 2 desktops and 1 laptop and they all run windows 7. For a week now I haven't been able to connect to the internet from one of the desktops. The initial setup was wireless and worked fine for years. I've tried every advise I could find online: Powered off and on the modem and the router, disabled and enabled the adapter, reseted WINSOCK and TCP/IP, assigned a permanent IP address, did a system restore to the last day the internet worked, turned off windows defender (windows firewall has always been off), turned off Webroot, I bought a new wireless USB adapter which connected to the network but still no internet access and my last resort: I got a really long ethernet cable and connected directly to the wireless router AND then directly to the modem... NOTHING! Still says that I am connected to an unidentified network and that there is not internet access.
View 5 Replies View RelatedMy wi-fi has always been a little spotty, but today it finally just completely stopped working.
I have an XPS L502x running Windows 7 and a Verizon FiOS connection (Actiontec modem/router). My work laptop (running XP), phone (Android), desktop (Win 8), and my girlfriend's Mac connect to this network fine. But the Dell has consistently had trouble over the year that I've owned it. In the past, I've been able to force it to connect by manually resetting the wi fi, but that didn't work today.
The wi fi will intermittently find the network, fail to connect to the internet, then lose connectivity to the network itself. Windows troubleshooting says I should reset the router (despite all of the other successful connections). This works for a second, but the Dell loses connectivity again (note: I''ve seen that this is associated with McAffee in other questions, but I'm not running McAffee). When I tried running the Intel troubleshooter, it passed all tests but the last one, saying it "Failed to Ping".
Another weird thing (not sure if it's related) is that my computer displays four different Network Adapters in Device Manager. One is the Intel Wireless-N 1000, but there are also two Windows adapters and what looks like a generic PCI driver. If you disable any one of them, you get the Intel "wireless adapter disabled" message. If you uninstall the Windows adapters, both reinstall when you try to connect to the network.
I have a 1 1/2 year old Dell XPS 15 L502x laptop.I have noticed that it has started having network connection issues with the wifi. It connects to all wifi properly but seems to be having issues with the home router recently. Around November 2012 it started. However I fixed the issue then by re-installing the driver.
This time reinstalling the driver did not solve the problem .. I have tried using the driver from intel's website as suggested by a previous forum post on a similar issue. I have alos tried the power settings suggestions by intel and none of these have solved the problem.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI just bought a new laptop and have had issues with it from day one regarding the internet. It connects me to the internet, but then after a few minutes on the task bar where it tells you what you are currently connected to a yellow (!) shows up. It tells me that I am connected to my network, but it says that I do not have any or sometimes even limited internet access. I have other computers in the house (3 laptops, sometimes 4, and 2 desktops) that do not have any issues connecting or staying connected to the internet. The laptop with the issue has Norton installed on it and it is with Windows 7. My ISP is AT&T, DSL. My router is a LinkSys router.
View 15 Replies View RelatedI have no admin privileges or access to the router, I have contacted support and they've tried various fixes on their end and just told me it must be a problem on my side. the network registers a mac address under your account name and then assigns an ip.My problem is that my comouter connects to the network fine, and tells me I have internet access, but I can't actually access the internet when I try. I'm definitely connected to the network as i can access the ask4 page that allows me to register a new device, which i access with an ip address of 10.142.0.1 so I'm guessing that's stored locally somewhere on the network. I have tried internet explorer, FireFox and chrome, as well as connecting through game portals and none of them are able to access the internet.
IE gives an error that it says can't be fixed as its an error with the server and Chrome gives error 101 (net::ERR_CONNECTION_RESET). I've tried various fixes, some of which have worked temporarily. After trying most of them I've had internet access that has lasted between 5 minutes and a few hours, but the problem has always returned and the same fix that worked first time hasn't always worked again. I have an xbox that I connect to the same network port in the wall and that accesses the internet perfectly. My computer has 2 Ethernet ports and both have the same problem.
My network adapters are 2 NVIDIA nforce networking controllers (drivers are up to date)When the problem started I was on Windows vista, but I've upgraded to Windows 7 64 bit as an attempt to fix it.I've tried different Ethernet cables, connecting both ports, uninstalling my network adapter drivers, disabling and re-enabling them, resetting my IE settings, disabling and uninstalling my AntiVirus, connecting through an Ethernet switch and disconnecting and reconnecting the cable.

I just got an XPS 15 (L502X). It comes with the McAfee internet security suite. I tries to connect my other laptop wireless to my XPS 15 through the Intel My WiFi Technology access point option so that i could share my LAN internet connection. Whilst the other laptop connects wireless with the XPS 15. The internet connection sharing only works when i disable the McAfee firewall. How to configure the firewall.

Recently I disassembed my laptop to clean from dust. Also change termopasta for cores. Can this effect wifi? ps. all wires I connected corretly. Do I need reasseble it again to check it out?
I have a dell xps L502X with windows 8. My network adapter was replaced last month. My DHCP is enabled. My DNS Server reads 192.168.1.1 and it's a home/cable/DSL connection so from what I've read that's right. I've set my IPv4 and IPv6 to automatically detect the DNS server and IP address to use. I've tried to reconfigure the computer to the wireless router, but when I go to set up a new network no networks pop up even though many networks pop up for me to connect to on the right of my screen.
All of my other devices are connected and working fine. That was the background and what I've tried to fix for my problem. When I try to connect to my home network it says it's a limited connection meaning I have no Internet access. When I run the trouble shooter for the network, Internet connections, and network adapter the only one that has an issue is the network one and the issue is that the DNS server isn't responding.
