View 1 Replies View RelatedMy Dell Inspiron 1545 laptop computer recently had a problem with its hard drive. I took it in and the computer guy had to get me a new hard drive. I picked it up today and my internet won't work! No networks show up. I've tried pushing the F2 key that usually turns the wireless on and off, but nothing. I went into my control panel>network and internet>network map, and it says, "The adapter is not connected." What do I need to do to get my wireless to work?

I just want to know can i change the wireless driver from wireless 1701 802.11b/g/n (existing driver) to wireless 1702 802.11b/g/n.
And what is the different between wireless 1701 802.11b/g/n and wireless 1702 802.11b/g/n driver.
Unfortunately, I'd been blaming the broadband at home and didn't realise this before my warranty ran out - on 30/12/12
McAffee has been uninstalled and Avast put on instead, but still it is the same - it works fine when the lead is plugged in from the router - on Speedtest it shows download speed 3.13. On wireless at home it works, just, but speed is reduced to 0.49 even though I'm sitting right next to the router. Bring it to work and it can't see the internet to connect to it
Where is wireless on/off switch for Inspiron E1705 with Dell wireless 1500 Draft 802.11n WLAN mini-card? I'm told the wireless card has been turned off. It shows as enabled and working in Devices.

View 5 Replies View RelatedMy set-up is as follows.Orange Livebox (with no wireless network card), which is hooked up to a Buffalo Airstation HP-G54. Which is in access point mode.I have an old desktop PC (Medion from 2003/2004), and a new A52J laptop. Everything works perfectly fine, and I had great internet access all over the house.I have a new housemate who has moved in, and she has brought with her a Dell Inspiron N5030 laptop. This laptop is causing me nightmares!!All of us are on Windows 7.Basically, the internet is disconnecting all of the time, and right clif**king the icon and trying to fix does nothing at all. The only way to fix things are to reset both the Orange Livebox modem and the Buffalo Airstation router. My laptop/PC are using static IP addresses, I've tried hers on a static IP and also using DHCP - neither worked. I have tried ALL channels on the Buffalo Airstation - nothing works. I've tried updating her wireless network card driver - it did nothing.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Dell Inspiron E1505 laptop that is about 6 years old running Windows XP. I have a Dell desktop with a cable modem and Linksys wireless router connected to the desktop to run my home wireless network.
Yesterday the wireless no longer worked on my laptop. I have a small wireless icon (looks like a computer monitor) with a yellow triangle with an explanation point inside. The messages are 'Signal Strength: Excellent' and 'Status: Limited or No Connectivity'. I have tried the following with no success:
- Rebooting the laptop (multiple timess)
- Resetting both the cable modem and router
- Turning off the desktop, resetting both the cable modem and router, and rebooting the desktop
- Took my laptop to work where a wireless connection is available and received the same messages
Thinking my wireless adapter / wireless card is bad I purchased a Linksys wireless USB adapter and just installed it. However it also cannot connect to my wireless network and issues a 'Open network Failure' error.
The Internet works fine from my desktop but is directly connected to the modem. I have not tried connecting the modem directly to my laptop to see if it would pick up the connection.
I have Dell Inspiron 1525 laptop, which I bought 3.5 years back. The laptop used to work fine before. I just shifted home 1.5 month back. Previously I used to have the wireless router always close to my laptop, so I never realized this issue. Now the wireless router (802.11n) for Fibre optics internet is in the ground floor and my studio is on 2nd floor. In my office latop, which is a new one, I get 3 out of 5 signal bars and get 34-56 mbps signal. But my Dell laptop does not get any signal, but when it is closer to the router it works fine.
if I buy an USB network Adapter device which is n series and supports upto 300mbps signal, then will it improve the situation? If yes, then which devices are preferred and how can I know whether that new device is compatible with my laptop settings (as this is a bit old one) or not? If not, then how can I improve the wireless reception? I have tried with booster etc already. I have also updated the network adapter drivers.the wireless card I have is: Dell Wireless 1395 WLAN minicard?
I have Dell Inspiron - N4110 and my laptop shuts off Wireless frequently. I have to reconnect every time to reestablish connection

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have just recently bought a Dell inspiron m5030 and after downloading the driver for bluetooth from DELL website and trying to install it a window saying Activate Bluetooth using Wireless Switch is shown. I pressed Fn+F2 but nothing happened.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have installed wireless 365 bluetooth driver but then of course the pop up says to activate the bluetooth using wireless switch. No dice. When I press the wireless switch I only see my wi-fi connection. I have checked device manager and no bt shows there. Also when I type 'bttray' under the start menu nothing shows up in the search.
Is this laptop even able to support bluetooth? I have searched through many other similar questions and have been unable to find any info on this for the n7010.
BTW: Windows 7, x64... let me know if you need other info.

I checked the drivers CD, but couldn't decide which one I should install because there are lot of BTS (bluetooth) drivers are listed.

I have a new inspiron 15 laptop and also bought an all in one wireless printer. I have a iinet BOB lite modem. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get the wireless printer, modem and laptop to tall to one another. Am I missing something or should it all work? The laptop has internet access. The laptop also shows the printer installed with a big green tick next to it but it says it is offline. At no point has a green light appeared on the printer to indicate any wireless connectivity to the modem.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have just bought a v313w printer & cannot get it to connect wireless to my inspirion 1545 laptop (windows 7)During the wireless set-up, it gets to the third of the five stages ok. These are configuring printer, resetting printer & connecting to wireless network. It fails on Acquiring network address & communicating with the printer!
I have tried the following without any luck, uninstalling & re-installing, powering down cable modem/router, changing security settings on router from 64bit wep to 128 wep & WPA/PSK, dell expert taking control of my laptop & trying to connect (which resulted in Dell sending me a new printer because the expert seemed to think it maybe a faulty wireless card in the printer, this is not the case becuase the same problem occurs with the second printer dell have sent me!). I have downloaded & installed the latest drivers for this printer from the dell website & I've switched off my security (anti virus/firewall) when trying to install.
I am completely stuck as to what to try next, the printer works perfectly fine from the USB cable.
I own an Inspiron n5110 laptop(Dell) with an Intel(R) Centrino(R) Wireless-N 1030 wireless card. I use Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit. I constantly drop internet connection, mainly when downloading and playing games. In the right bottom corner, where my wireless connection signal strenght is showed, I get an yellow triangle with '!' mark in it saying 'Limited access'. When troubleshooting, the only way to get an internet connection again, I get an message 'The default gateway is not available' and it says that it's fixed. after awhile I lose internet connection again and everything repeats. I figured out that it's not from my router or Internet Service Provider. I saw in the forums the option to exchange this card for the 6230 upgraded version but that is not a variant for me because in my country the technicians can at very damage the laptop.

When ever I open the lid to the laptop it takes 5-10 mins before it will automatically connect to a network. Diagnose this network does not find anything, nor provides any troubleshooting. Typically if I open the network connections center and disable the wireless, let it sit for 30 secs or so, and re-enable, it will finally connect.
I know it's not my router, as the laptop does the same thing at work, and multiple different friends house.
I've confirmed that DHCP is set to automatic connect. I've also checked Device Manager/Network adapters/ and unchecked the box "allow the computer to turn off this device to save power"
I have a Dell laptop Inspiron 1545 model PPHL that will not connect to my wireless route. I know the wireless router is working because I call connect to the internet using my Gateway laptop. I was missing some network adapters which I have reinstalled, and the hard wired connection is now working again, but wireless will not get past the acquiring network address phase. I tried the ipconfig /all and it shows my IP address as 0.0.0.0 and the same on the subnet mask. it says the autoconfig is enabled and dhcp is enabled. My HP laptop is connecting to the wireless network just fine.

The WiFi worked before I re-loaded windows from the recovery disc, The radio switch indicates it is on but it doesn't seem to find any signals. I am running windows vista sp-2. The wireless works beautifully while using Win 7, but when I switch to Win 8... the actual Fn+F2 wireless switch has no effect whatsoever! So I know the machine is OK, the network is OK, but what could be making the machine act differently under Windows 8? Device manager and details say the driver is up to date.. What do I look for next?? I don't think I'm going to be able to get a call through to Microsoft!!

View 14 Replies View RelatedI have a Dell Inspiron 15R laptop. I can connect to the internet with excellent connectivity but it still shows "No Internet Access". I have been struggling since last 2 days to resolve this issue so have gone through various forums to find a solution but none worked. Here are the things that I have already tried:1. Restarted / Reset my modem.2. ipconfig / release and renew.3. Deselect IPv6.4. net stop and start for winhttpautoproxysvc and dhcp client.5. Turn off McAfee firewall.6. Reset network adapter settings.I can connect to internet in "safe mode with networking" but not in normal mode.In fact, I can connect to the same wi-fi using my smartphone. Somebody suggested me that it could be a dnschanger virus attack. I checked that also and it's not that virus.
