I've been having this problem for around two years on my current laptop, but today it finally got so frustrating I had to ask about it. I've tried and tried to search for others with a similar problem, but have never found a good solution. When my computer turns on and connects to an internet source (LAN or wifi), it will work fine indefinitely. However, if I join a different LAN or wireless network later, such as when I go from home to school, it will connect to the new network, but after a few minutes, I will be unable to load any web pages (Connection timed out).
Skype and email still work fine, and the only browser I use is firefox, so this may be a firefox-specific issue. If I reset the network adapter being used, then I will be able to load websites again, but after 2-30 minutes, I will run into the same issue and have to reset the adapter again. Joining a different network does not resolve the problem. Restarting firefox does not resolve the problem. Clearing the firefox cache is a temporary solution only, similar to resetting the network adapter. Restarting the computer entirely will result in no connection problems, until I have to change networks again.
Specs are below, and again, I connect to the internet using firefox 14.0.1 Tech Support Guy System Info Utility version 1.0.0.2 OS Version: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium, Service Pack 1, 64 bit Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU Q 720 @ 1.60GHz, Intel64 Family 6 Model 30 Stepping 5 Processor Count: 8 RAM: 4030 Mb Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce 310M, 512 Mb Hard Drives: C: Total - 464783 MB, Free - 133483 MB; Motherboard: TOSHIBA, Portable PC Antivirus: Microsoft Security Essentials, Updated and Enabled
My Internet is connected as I can load pages through my iPhone on my wireless signal BUT on my laptop the only page that will load is my UniSA home page and my Uni email - nothing else will load - I have tried Mozilla, IE & Safari and get the same response with all of them. Don't know if I have accidentally done something or what?
I have an internet connection but web pages will not load.I just brought my computer back home from college and installed an xavb1004 and it is working as i have tried other devices on it so I do not believe it is that. Also I have tried just about everything getting this to work including but not limited to winsock changing all the internet settings making sure no boxes are checked, changing my dns server disabling firewall and all the basic stuff.
My internet at times fails to work. I will be browsing and webpages will fail to load until I wait 30sec or so and refresh the page a few times. This happens every 3ish minutes. However, I am still connected to wi-fi according to my computer and there is still internet access (at least it says). I can also disconnect from wi-fi and reconnect and the problem goes away momentarily.
I know this happens on Chrome and IE, so it is not the browser. And, the internet is just find on other computers at my house so I do not believe it is the router.
First few attempts to load a web page after a reboot are okay, then it begins to stall with no error, or sometimes an "empty response" error message. I simply cannot load web pages. Checking mail sometimes stalls. When this happens, the Thunderbird process hangs around after I've exited the application using 50% cpu. I didn't discover this until just recently. Even when connecting to my own router 1 hop away, the admin web page timed out. Other things like downloading software updates and online help seem to be unaffected. FTP connection sometimes stalls. SSH takes forever (~10 seconds) to get a login prompt. Connecting directly to the cable modem has no effect. No other PC in my home has any problem getting online. I've tried changing DNS servers with no luck. Same problems with Ubuntu running in a virtual box in Windows. I can get online in Safe Mode. During the malware detection there was a question about my proxy settings, which showed up in a system scan, slowing me down. I didn't think that was contributing to the problem, but I've since deleted them and still no improvement. I just completed a round of malware detection in the other forum and my system appears clean, so I decided to come here and give it a shot.

I just recently upgraded my computer to Vista from XP. Since then my computer connects to the internet and runs applications such as Star Trek Online and Skype ok but it won't load pages in any internet browsers.
I bought my laptop 4 weeks ago. It has Windows 8 on it. It worked great until this week. At first, Google Chrome quit working. Then IE quit. I connect wirelessly. It says it is strong, but no Internet access. I do have connectivity on my phone to that router.
Im having a problem with connecting to the internet. I have an hp media center pc running XP, ive hooked it up with a ethernet wire and it looks like its connected and alot of activity but when i click on internet explorer it says "web page cannot be displayed"
I have a Windows XP Laptop and an Windows 7 Starter Netbook. I have recently changed internet provider, returned the previous (Netgear) router and configured a new (D Link) router. Prior to the change of internet provider, both laptops could connect wirelessly without issues. After installing the new router provided by new internet provider, my Windows XP laptop can connect to the internet wirelessly without problems, the signal is strong and the speeds decent. My Windows 7 Netbook can connect to the network and to the internet, however, the speed on it is so low that pages do not load at all. Whilst it remains connected (the connection does not drop), it does not display web pages. Occasionally it displays a page or two, and it seems the problem is fixed, but this lasts no longer than a few minutes, after which it starts displaying "white" pages again. When the connection to the router is wired, the problem disappears and I can access the internet and the pages load well, so the problems is strictly a Wi Fi connectivity issue.
The Windows 7 Starter Netbook that has this problem at home, connects to every single other network I have had the chance to test it on (at work, at internet cafes, at my parents, at my sisters) and it also used to work flawlessly with my home network before I changed internet provider. On all other networks, it works really well. The new (D Link) router seems to work, otherwise my Windows XP laptop would also be having problems... but it doesn't.So both the new (D Link) router and my Windows 7 Starter Netbook work well separately. They just don't work together!I have tried a number of things: restarting the Netbook, restarting the router, re-installing Windows 7 Starter completely, disabling the network adapter and re-enabling it, updating the network driver, unprotecting the network completely, disabling Windows Firewall, disabling antivirus, changing the channels on the router, placing quartz crystals next to both devices and chanting. Below, I am pasting IP Config files showing the details of the settings in both devices (the one that works and the one that doesn't). As far as settings on the router is concerned, I have checked that they are the basic default ones that technical support are recommending.
IP Config of Windows XP Laptop that WORKS WELL:
Windows IP Configuration Host Name . . . . . . . . . . . . : myhomelaptop Primary Dns Suffix . . . . . . . : Node Type . . . . . . . . . . . . : Unknown IP Routing Enabled. . . . . . . . : No WINS Proxy Enabled. . . . . . . . : No
Applications such as skype, teamviewer, etc, are all working fine, however, when I try to load certain webpages, such as Facebook and forum boards, they don't load, just stay white screen.
Youtube, google, both load, I imagine this is because they're both on the Google servers, apart from any Google related sites, I can't find any that will load for me.
I think this is a problem wth my DNS addresses, I've tried a range of solutions, clearing my DNS, changing my IPv4 address, restarting the router, PC, but I can't seem to find a fix.
Running on windows 7 Home premium
NOTE: I had the Metropolitan police virus yesterday, I did a system restore to remove it, my internet worked fine after, it's only since I've moved from the router at my other house, to the one here that I'm having problems.
For a while in our house we were using only US Cellular Broadband connect, which is essentially a mobile 3G USB adapter. We uninstalled this from all the computers when we recently got Charter cable internet which is being broadcasted wirelessly with a Netgear cg3000d-rg. I know that the US Cellular broadband turns off wifi connectivity, but we made sure to uninstall all the drivers and software. We have 2 comps running XP and one Macbook, all able to connect to the new router. One Acer Aspire One is the holdout. It connected wirelessly fine before, but now will not work. It says it's "connected" and assigns an IP, but no matter what browser it will not load any webpages.
I have 2 laptops and 1 desktop in my household.Lately, I have noticed that webpages take way too long to load. Speedtest reported 2Mbps download and 0.07Mbps upload (that upload speed is not good, is it?)So on my main desktop I looked at the Send/Receive of the packets right after start-up and it showed like 200,000 sent and 7,000,000+ received. that is not normal, right? On my netbook, I looked at the packets and it showed 200,000 sent and 23,000,000+ received. I am thinking there is definitely something wrong with one or both of them. This laptop I am on right now is the only one not suffering from connectivity problems. Without the other two computers connected to the network, my web-surfing is completely normalAnyway, I dont know what the problem is, but I can't do anything on the internet. I can barely open a page on Google with those 2 computers. It's terrible. I have run Virus Scans and Malwarebytes + SUPERantimalware scans and ALL have come back negative. So...[CODE]
I have a new ASUS Eee PC notewbook, dual core.. Windows 7..I can connect to my wireless network but it wont let me load any webpages on Chrome and with IE I can sometimes get Google (homepage) but cant go anywhere. On my older laptop, I can surf no problem, I'm here, so I know my network works.. When I use the Windows trouble shooter it fixes my adapter, but the problem persists.
My Asus eee pc netbook won't load webpages. It is connected to the internet, but won't load pages. I know it isn't the internet connection because others are able to access it on their computers on the same network.I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling my network adapter. I've put the power save mode on my adapter to off. I uninstalled Norton. I've turned my firewall off. It won't load in Firefox or IE.If I repair my connection, it works for about 30 seconds, and then will stop loading.
So I recently came down to my parents place for a holiday and ever since I started using the internet here many websites are not loading (firefox, ie and google chrome alike) they usually show an error /problem loading page message. All webpages open fine on the wireless router back at my place.
Also, all the webpages seem to load fine on other PC's in the house. I have scanned using kaspersky twice, there were no threats. And I tried using Hotspot Shield - and all the websites load only when hotspot shield is on.
Its been a long road but this is where Im at right now. I have a complete fresh install of XP SP3 on a dell inspiron 9300. I was having this issue and with all the troubleshooting steps taken that did not work, I decided to re-install windowsTurns out the internal NIC does not work (at all it seems), so I have a USB NIC. Itinstalled correctly and detects the network. I can log into our Domain, ping seveal websites (yahoo, assassinarcade.com (my personal website), blogger.com) but IE8/FF will not load the web pages. The NIC has a valid IP address with correct DNS and DHCP IP addresses to their respective servers[CODE]
I have been having some trouble lately with my internet since I have been home from college. I have no problem connected to my router wirelessly, and I always have a strong connect seeing as I am no more than 15 feet from the router. The problem arises sporadically for different intervals. One second I will be browsing the internet with no problem, and the next second I am unable to load any pages.
I was just in a Skype conversation with one of my friends and had a perfect connection with them. I was on twitter at the same time, when suddenly the pages stopped loading. The weird thing is, my connect was still strong while video chatting and it did not cut out. Why my web pages will not load while I still apparently have a strong connection.
Have Cradlepoint MBR900 router. Internet will connect through router and shows connected but cannot load any web pages.I am able to search through google, load msn, etc but will not access web pages. Internet works fine when connected directly to lap top.
I have wag320n router (FM ver. 1.00.08), some webpages (for example [URL]) don't load, but several load (for example yandex.ru). By changing MTU value on my PC I can solve this problem and this sites will load properly. But can't do this on my mobile devices (for example smartphone, PSP) and I have to set MTU value on each computer, connected to my network. So I want to find out, how solve this problem on the "level" of the router.
my computer wont load some videos on the internet. youtube works fine though, also a majority of the time, my internet doesnt even load the page and just sits there with a blank screen making out it loads. and on facebook, the chatbox barely appears let alone even show me whos online. i have tried deleting all the temorary internet files, cookies, history, form data, passwords and inprivate filtering. i also tryed freeing up space and i deleted about 12gb of crap i didnt need[CODE]
My Dir-615 E1 5.01 works fine, daughters Iphone, laptop connect fine. My Droid Max android phone connects with no problem but does not load web pages or sites. Phone does work great at other wifi spots just not at home with this DLink. My last android phone acted the same way, cannot use wifi at home! Not a password issue cause it does connect and has strong signal.
I recently implemented an ASA 5520 HA pair with CSC-SSM-20s in each non stateful per cisco. The CSC management sits in a management subnet 192.168.4.0/24 with the management interface of the ASA as its default gateway in the same subnet. Ever since the implementation frequently webpages will not load correctly, the formating will not look right and pictures will be red x. If you hit f5 to refresh the pages loads fine. If I add a deny any any eq 80 rule before the permit any any eq 80 the issue appears to go away. TAC can't seem to find anything worng. All we want to do is use a simple web content filter with the check boxes in the global filtering policy. ASA is running 8.2(5) and CSC is running 6.3.1172.0. Everything else works fine SVC and rules and such. [code]
webpage A will take 1 second to load, and webpage B will take 6 seconds to load. After a browser refresh, webpage A might take 5-8 seconds to load, and webpage B will take 1 second to load.
Hardware rev A1 Firmware 1.13NA
Router is about 2 years old.
I tried resetting the router prior to the firmware update, no different. This is happening on both PC's. I tried a direct connect to the modem, and it seemed to work fine, but this doesn't always happen.
Whenever I use my router web pages often fail to load. Then after about 30 or seconds or so it will start working again. Even worse,if I go to game online I will have lag like crazy. Even if I am the only one on the router.I'm using a D-Link n300 gigabit router.
I'm having this problem with the ea4500 where occasionally web pages will not load. The internet doesn't go down, but the page will just not load. Meanwhile other sites WILL load at the same time. After a minute or two, the site will load and there will be no problems. I searched for this problem, and found changing the MTU may work, but from what I read, those people never could connect to the websites in the first place. I've tried changing the MTU, but it appears it keeps on happening. Also, I am able to play a video game at the same time, which is connected to the internet, that never goes down.
Recently I have been having problems with my computer. For some reason It says that it is connected to the internet and will work for a few minutes, but then suddenly stop working yet still say it is connected to the internet. I have looked around the forums for things like this and I haven't found a fix yet. What I do to get internet is to swap between the 2 wifi signals in our house. I am the only person in my house who uses PC. The rest of my family uses mac, so we have mac routers. I have an asus N53J. [code]
I use my android as a mobile hotspot to connect to the internet on my laptop. My laptop says it is connected to the internets.d has a strong connection but will not load any page on internet. I use my mobile hotspot to connect to the internet on other devices and it works great. I am using windows 7 operating system and internet explorer for my browser.
I am having trouble with my wireless connection. I am only able to visit websites but if I try to use the internet for anything else (AIM, Yahoo instant messenger, etc), it will not work. This is not a modem issue because my other computers' connections still work fine.
I am having trouble with the internet on my HP laptop.. I am positive it is connected to the internet, yet pages won't load.. when I troubleshoot it says no problems detected
IE and Firefox both refused to load my homepage (google) or any other page in my bookmarks. Uninstalled and reinstalled both, even going back a couple of versions and still nothing. I know I'm connected as my iPhone works fine. With this in mind, I tried opening up safari to see what that would do and to my supprise, it works fine, bit slow but still, at least it works. So now I defiantly know that the Internet is working.
I have done so much research and tried almost everything on these forums, but still the internet wont load on my laptop. It is a Acer mini with Windows 7 starter. The other day the internet just stopped loading pages. It shows that it is connect to my router, and when I try to go to a page, it just says loading. I tried to connect with the ethernet chord from the modem and it does the same thing. I think there is a connection, but just wont load pages because the avast will update the virus definitions. I've tried to update the drive, reset the ipconfig. One thing I noticed is that the ip6v says not connected but the ip4v says internet. If I can do anything to get more info I surely will post it back up here, I just need to get my connection back up
