I have recently purchased a Linksys WAG320N (firmware V1.00.12) to replace my old ZyXEL P-660H-D1.I've managed to set it up roughly the same in terms of the ports I want open and port forwarding, with one exception: I can enable a port to be forwarded to an IP address on my network, but I can't find anywhere to set it so that the port is only allowed from a specific IP address outside of the network, e.g.
Accept port [some number] from [some Internet address] into 192.168.1.2 but reject attempts from others.I thought it might be in Access Restrictions but that only covers internal IP addresses.
I disabled Remote Access under the Administration tab but I still can access my router management from the internet by typing in my routers gateway address. In fact I did the opposite of all that is described here. I already did a soft- and hardware reset. How can I block Remote Access forever?
I have to change ISP, as mine is closing down , and the new ISP will be sending a N router - which may have 5Gh - so I'm thinking of replacng a "G" AP with the WAG320N and use the 5Ghz range. The WAG320N will be used with a USB Music harddrive and a TV and PVR connected to it - so my music will be direct to the DLNA devices - and also provide any devices with a 5Ghz signal
I recently purchased a WAG320N router and have issues with access restrictions. Internet is shut down regardless of the time set with the policy or policies. I am using firmware version V1.00.12. Tried rebooting router, restoring factory defaults & restarting IMAC to no avail. Timezone checked and OK.
I access my home computers via teamviewer or logmein. My router is a Wag320n
Sometimes my internet connection is lost and if I'm home, I just reset it and the internet is on again.
But when I am away and the internet connection is lost, I can not access my computer. If only I could reset it, I would be able to access the computers I am trying to find a solution to do this.
Practically when the internet connection is lost, the modem does not get an IP from the ISP right? And when this IP is not assigned, there is no way of connecting to the router itself right? Is there a way of pinging or resetting or accessing a modem that is connected to he phone line? I think it is impossible. Or maybe it is possible via some MAC address search or sniffer or I don't know.
Another option would be to somehow have the modem reset, let's say every hour automatically so that the max time I would not be able to accss my computers remotely would be 1 hour.
I have a flat that is about 500Sq meters in size and multiple rooms. I am looking to setup one WAG320N in the library with the ADSL connection and setup wireless. Can I then wireless a WAP610 or another AP in the living room and in the dinner room and in one bedroom and set it up with the same Wireless network so they can move seamlessly through the flat? Can they act in repeater mode? Which Modem Gateway and Access Point or Repeater can do it.
I have set up several Website Blocking by URL Address & Website Blocking by Keyword that work as expected but the router seems unstable when they are in use and often reboots at random occasions. For example, last 2 crashes happened like this: opened a website that wouldn't load because it contained one of the keywordsopened a new tab to go to http://192.168.1.1as soon as I hit ENTER router rebootedanother occasion:
Went to Access Restrictions and Disabled an Internet Access Policy (did not close the tab).Opened a new tab and went about my businesslater went back (to the already open router tab) to Enable the Internet Access Policyclicked Save Settingsentered router password againclicked OK and it crashed (rebooted)
I have an intermittent issue with a new WAG320N.Device is new (installed for 1 month now) and is running the latest firmware "out of the box".
Device was confirmed as working (recommended) via the ISP, as it uses a Broadcom chipset, so it works "more reliably" with the ISP's hardware which uses the same chipset.
Setup was painless and the router synced up fine and has been operating for a few weeks. However, twice in the past week the router has become unresponsive to ping over the LAN. Furthermore, the device's lights indicate everything is OK, however I have to reset the router (power cycle) and then it returns to normal.
WIFI is OFF. LAN IP is set manually, DHCP is OFF. The router is plugged into it's own UPS.
How to configure settings for router E4200I live in Finland and bought new Cisco Linksys WAG320n router modem as I am experienced Cisco user. However after spending several hours and setups on the WAG320n router I cannot get it to connect on the ISP ADSL line.
RFC2684 Bridged LLC/SNAP g.dmt or ADSL2+ VPI 0 VCI 100
But once I setup these or acutally any other setting I cannot get the router to connect. With the right settings I can get the DSL PVC status up and connected but the ModemRouter cannot connect and retrieve IP-address from ISP.
I'm trying to play some online games and my WAG320N does not forward ports, upnp does not function and to top it off DMZ wont even work (not a software firewall issue either). I have the latest firmware (and honestly the stock firmware is terrible).
Am I out of luck or is there something I can do to fix this? I sure as hell will be steering clear of linksys products after this.
This WAG320N Router can get really slow after a while use which is really frustrating for me since I am a gamer. Power cycling it SOMETIMES does the trick but it will still get slow. It has been slow just now and over here it is midnight so the internet peak should be down and my internet should be faster but its now.
I have the WAG320N. I know if my router is updated to fix the bug of the WPS?There is an update? Which is the date scheduled for release? The vulnerability of my network has been compromised yesterday because of this bug, so either the update is released soon or I'll have to switch to another product of some companies more serious
Transferring a file between a wired Win 7 machine and a wireless Snow Leopard mac seems to top out at 32Mbps.I've seen over 60Mbps on this laptop using N networks before, and when I wire the laptop I get a more respectable 240Mbps (presumably maxing out the server's disk I/O rate), so I'd say the issue is the router.
Things I have already tried:updating the firmware to 1.00.125Ghz modeFinding the least crowded 2.4Ghz channelswide channelsSetting network mode to N-onlySetting the transmission rate to 108Mbpschanging the beacon interval to 50, the frag threshold to 2201 and the RTS threshold to 2202
I have only purchased this modem a few days ago (upgraded from a working Netgear DGN2000 for Gigabit).... it's solid most the time except for once a day when it needs to be reset.
One morning I accessed a single website, only to find the next wouldn't come up. (approx 7:30am) Lastnight the net was working fine at 11:30pm.... Thismorning I woke up, checked my download manager to find that at 2:30am all queued downloads failed, so the ADSL dropped sometime inbetween then.
The LAN and Wifi still work fine, when I go into the settings and click "reconnect" nothing happens. I need to turn the modem off for a min before it works ok. There is no newer firmware as of yet to try.
I do not have a "storage" tab in my setup screen. I have Setup, Security, Wireless, etc. According to its manual there must be a Storage tab between security and wireless. Mine doesn't have it. USB drive is connected and I see "mywag320n" on the network but I can't access it because it requires login and password (which I guess I must set up from Storage tab )
I connected my Western Digital Studio II 2TB external harddrive which is formatted NTFS. I can access the drive and read it. But I can't write it. It says I do not have rights. I tried to get to be the owner of the device but it gave some kind of error.
my device can connect to the wireless network. When i tried to setup the network again it says that no WLAN network found. I have not change any of the setting in the modem it just can't find any WLAN network. I have tried reseting the modem but still no network found.
I need to configure my modem router wag320n let pass the magic packet to turn on my computer from the internet. I've already opened the door 7 to the computer ip but does not work. The bios and the OS are perfectly configured.
I have recently bought a WAG320N modem Gigabite router to substitute the modem router supplied by the internet service provider (in theory less performant).
Formerly I have a wireless router Zyxel (MOD. P660HW-D1). The main computer is wired (connected trough ethernet), I have also a NAS device (WD mybook world 1TB with Twonky as server) wired and a third wired connection for the above mentioned PLK 300. The PLK 300 (4 Inputs and one output) is used to connect a TV (Sony BRAVIA) a Bluray (SONY) a PS3 (Sony) and a multimedia HD (DVICO). All this was working properly. I have internet access from TV, PS3,... I was able to run videos, photos,... stored in the NAS from TV,....
I decided to change for improving the transfer speed and to allow a better wireless connection (I have initially coverage problems, but because I only use the wireless rarely...).Initially I bought a Linksys E 3000 (I thought it was possible to connect it directly to internet and not trough a modem. I asked to several people and in several shops but no one told me this was not possible). That was my first failure: I would like to suggest the liknsys people to clearly explain this on the product sheet to avoid that not very well informed people like me commit the same error.
Then I chaged the E3000 by the WAG320N. I connect the new modem-router like the former (Zyxel). No room for big errors, just the power, DSL line and ethernet cables. It works for the PC and the NAS but the PLC (PLK300) do not appears to work. Several tries later (including plugin the PLK on the line 1 input of the router it is shown on the network map but do not work. I do not have access to the internet nor to the NAS contents form TV,....
I go back to the former router and everything works again in the simplest way (I have internet access form TV,...) except the Twonky access to the NAS from TV ¿?. I do not know exactly what I have changed,...)
I have set up an access restriction profile by time of day, but it seems that the web sites I list are blocked regardless of the time of day. Does the WAG320N apply the time of day to the blocked URLs or is the time of day only applicable to internet access?
I have had a wag320n for a while and ever since I bought it, The wireless stops functioning after a day or 2, if I save the settings and then restore the settings (even after it has stopped working) then it works again for a day or to then I have to repeat the process. While it was annoying most of my PC's were wired so it wasn't a major issue but in my new place I am mostly wireless so I am well over it already.
I just bought a macbook and want to connect with my WAG320N. I have no problem to connect on 54mbs what tells me that I'm on Wifi G. The settings in my router was on b/g/n so I changed it to just N but then it won't connect. I don't get error or nothing. I just doesn't connect. I tried all different kind of settings but no luck.
After a very painful 20 minutes on Linksys tech chat with somebody who didn't listen to what i was telling them ... i thought i'd come on here and ask.I have just bought a WAG320N,the admin panel tells me I'm connected Yet the Internet LED is NOT lit on my router.
I have a small home network using a Linksys WAG320N which acts as the modem (to connect to BT using PPPoA for ADSL) and provides 4 wired 100Mbs network connections along with a wireless N connections. I use WPA2 (personal) to secure the network and have a white list for allowed wireless devices. Everything works fine.In another part of the house (where I can get a good wireless signal) we have the main TV in the house. Here I have a SKY HD box and a small media player. What I would like to do is connect these two devices to the network and running a network cable is not practical, so I thought I would setup a wireless bridge.I tried a TP-Link bridge borrowed from a friend by this failed to work. I now know this to be because the WAG320N does not support WDS.Will a Linksys WES610N connect to my WAG320N to provide me with what I want?
My wag320N was working fine for a few months but recently has started to drop out. The wireless signal is strong and is used to stream HD movies to a HTPC and also to a media player in different parts of the house. The stream works fine for a while then every 2-5 minutes or so the signal drops to nothing for about 45 seconds, then comes back up to normal and then this repeats for the entire movie.
