static route on RV042?
static route on RV042?
Currently i am having a scenario where i have setup RV042 and which is connected to Microsoft Forefront 2010. PPTP works fine only on rv042 subnet but i am not able to access the "internal" network of TMG.RV042 (172.16.1.1) ---> TMG [external] (172.16.1.2) ---> TMG [internal] (192.168.1.1) Is there any way through static route to access the TMG internal network through RV042 pptp server?View 1 Replies View Related
I am trying to set up a Site to Site between two RV042 with static IP at both routers.at the log at site 1 i get: packet from XX.XXX.XX.167:5: initial Main Mode message received on 10.2.32.1:500 but no connection has been authorized with policy=PSK.At site 2 i get: packet from xxx.xxx.xxx.146:500: initial Main Mode message received on 192.168.1.1:500 but no connection has been authorized with policy=PSK.I have tuned off the firewall and added a Port forwarding to the router ip and port 500.Tried with different autentication methods, but get the same message.View 1 Replies View Related
I defined a static route: 192.168.0.0 / 255.255.255.0 / 192.168.1.201 (gateway), I can connect from 192.168.1.0 to 192.168.0.0 but we cannot ping in this local network. We have a CISCO 18000 as a VPN IP configured between this two local network.View 1 Replies View Related
I have my internet connection connect to my main Linksys router WRT160NL (192.168.1.1) with 192.168.1.x.My 2nd Linksys router connect to the first one as Gateway as well. The 2nd router has its WAN ip of 192.168.1.100 and it's local subnet as 192.168.2.x.My machines at 192.168.2.x can get to the internet and connect to all machines in the 192.168.1.x network. However, the 1.x network can't access the machines on the 2's network. And because of that, i can not sharing or printing between two network.I try to add static routes on my main router (192.168.1.1) with the route: 192.168.2.0 mask 255.255.255.0 and defaute gateway 192.168.1.100However, the route not work still.anyway to make sure that the 1.x network able to access the 2.x network and from 2.x access 1.x for sharing files and printing.View 1 Replies View Related

I would like to the the RV042 for a one to one NAT, but I need it to NAT to an address that is not on it's local subnet. I have it routing properly to the address, but web interface only allows adding an IP on the local subnet. Is there a way around that?View 1 Replies View Related
We have 3 Cisco RV042. These were purchased to permit VPN from two branch offices to our head office. VPN is required to permit the two branch offices to use Avaya IP phones to connect to our main head office switchboard. We also have users on Blackberry and Apple iPhones to collect their mail through OWA from our Exchange 2010 server.
I've noticed in one of your threads that the RV042 routers configured for VPN do not permit the use of HTTPS to connect to OWA and that seems to be the problem for us. Since installing the VPN our OWA access is not possible.
What can I do to resolve this problem and what router would you suggest that I could use at the head office to enable the two branches to connect VPN to head office? And if there is a suitable router, would I need to replace all three?
I have never setup a GW to GW VPN with a FIOS connection. I have done it with DSL and cable without any problems.View 1 Replies View Related

LAN L2, with IP addresses 192.168.11.x, for Company C2
I have networks separated: different racks (but very closer fisically: a wire can be thrown), different gateways (to DSL), but both LAN's must connect with each other. I have acquired two RV042, one for each company to create VPN's (permitting telejob).
I tried to upgrade the firmware of my RV042 router. I downloaded the file (RV0XX-v4.0.0.07-tm-20100819-code.bin) and check the cheksum. When I try to upload it, I have the message "413 Request Entity Too Large". How can I do ? Should I unzip the .bin file (it's about 30Mo) ?View 1 Replies View Related

We have a Network set up with a RV042 router. Router is hooked up to Cox Cable and ATT DSL. Currently have 20 computers hooked up to the router all using Static IP addresses. Setup has been in place for over 7 years. I want to set up a Wireless Access point on this network. The problem is, I can't seem to get DHCP to work right even WITHOUT the Wireless Access Point. I have taken one of the computers that works great with a static IP and changed it to be DHCP, I have enabled DHCP on the router and set the from and thru parameters for the IP assignment. The computer will connect and get an IP address and it allows me to see all the INTERNAL servers on the network but going to the Internet is REAL FLAKY. I usually have to refresh 5 or 6 times to get a web page and sometimes even that don't work. If I do get a page to come up there is about a 10% chance that it will bring up a subpage of that page without doing a refresh 5 or 6 times. Its like it won't hold the connection to the Internet. I did notice one thing different in the User Manual of the RV042 that is different than all the other Linksys routers I have worked with. It says that when you enable the DHCP on the router, you then make sure ALL computers hooked to it are set for DHCP. All other routers I have worked with do NOT use that word ALL. Am I missing some setting or is this a binding thing where you are either ALL static or ALL DHCP?View 1 Replies View Related
Small office, 2 RV042, 2 DSL connections. 1 is used striclty for the business side, and the other is for our CCTV network. They also have seperate DSL connections as we have 2 external IP address for clients to connect remotely. We don't want to take away our exisring setup, but would like to bridge both networks so a few of our internal clients can connect to our CCTV network and use some of the devices. Right now they come in on VPN but its not as fast.Is this doable without adding additional hardware? Both networks need DHCP enable as well.View 1 Replies View Related
I have been running a email/web/ftp server on one server for 9 years. I have currently acquired a Barracuda spam 300. I cant get the emails to go thru the barracuda first. Here is how it is setup: my email and web come in thru one outside address..call it 220.127.116.11 I have a 1 to 1 nat for 18.104.22.168 to 10.0.0.2 (email/web/ftp server) ports 25 and 53 are forwarded to the 10.0.0.4 (barracuda) then out on 25 to my 10.0.0.2 no emails go thru as long as it is set this way I can nat the 22.214.171.124 to the barracuda first and emails go thru, but I lose my web and ftp will this router work for me? I was told that i needed to change mx records for email to 126.96.36.199 and then forward nat on that address to the barracuda. I dont really want to change mx records for 10-12 email domains.View 1 Replies View Related
I am currently using Netgear FVS338 Routers / VPN Devices in 3 different locations and honestly I am not happy / impressed with them whatsoever.I have been doing some research and came across the Linksys RV042 and RV082 devices that caught my eye. The question is what is the VPN throughput of these devices?I have gone over the website, spec sheets and they only really say the throughput of the LAN Links and not the WAN Links. I currently have very reliable 20Mb+ Synchronous connections between all 3 sites and have not been able to get any good performance out of the Netgear devices and contacting their support is a joke. They can't tell you anything other than it should work or we will swap out the unit. Well if I have 3 of them that have been purchased at all different times I don't believe that they are all having the same issues. What these units 3DES VPN Throughput and will more than likely be purchasing 3 of which ever once suits our needs immediately.View 9 Replies View Related

I have a RV042:Firmware Version : v4.0.0.07-tm (Aug 19 2010 19:19:50)PID VID : RV042 V03 .Configured with a internal LAN address (10.0.17.0/24) and ISP PPPoE External address on WAN1.I´ve configured a VPN with a remote location (Fortigate 4) and after the VPN starts up the RV042 cannot ping any machine in their local network (using the diagnostic, all pings failed in 10.0.17.0/24) and no machines in that network can PING and access or manage the RV042
The only way to manage the RV042 after VPN starts UP is using a machine in the other side of the VPN (The Main office)If i force the VPN down, the connectivity begins to work, but as soon the VPN starts up again, the local/LAN connectivity loses again.
I am going to this page: [URL] but I can see nothing regarding firmware. The "Download software" link takes me to a page that has QVPN, TFTP utilities, etc, but no firmware.View 4 Replies View Related
We have almost identical networks in two offices, with the only difference being, one uses an RV042 and the other an RV082.The setup is: two WAG54GS ADSL modems carry PPOA ADSL connections with static IPs to the two WAN ports of the RV0XX.The WAG54GS routers are configured to DMZ all incoming traffic to the relevant WAN IP of the RV0XXs. VPN pass-through is also set on them. The RV0XX port forwarding is set to forward a selection of traffic such as, PPTP, HTTP, HTTPS, RDP, POP3, SMTP and Remote Desk to the external adapter of an SBS 2003 server which processes all operations including ISA and Exchange.Mail for Exchange arrive through both ADSL connections for redundancy. VPN connection requests from remote users to the SBS come in through both ADSL connections. The office fitted with RV042 works fine and does all the following without problems. The office fitted with RV082 has issues. Remote VPN requests comming from ADSL to WAN port 1 of the RV082 connect successfully to the SBS2003 server, but the VPN requests coming from ADSL to WAN port 2 fail to connect! Similarly, incoming mail destined for Exchange don't get through if coming from ADSL of WAN port 2.I have updated the firmware on both RV042 and RV082, but the RV082 still has the above issues.View 1 Replies View Related

telnet/ssh sessions time out after 30 minutes of in-activity This only happens in the case of a server that is setup behind the firewall, and of course port forwarding is used. If one unchecks the radio button for the enable firewall the sessions do not timeout at all. This is very reproducable in all recent (1.3.9) versions of RV042 and RV082 routers.View 2 Replies View Related

Setup is two dynamic IP locations
1. first location RV042 is the gateway attached to ADSL modem
2. second location RV042 is behind BT home hub gateway - for now the BTHH DMZ is enabled to the RV042
Followed the user manual config for two dynamic IP but it seems that the RV042 behind the BTHH obviously has a different IP than the resolved IP and is causing problems with connection.
This from the log file:
Jan 14 15:04:16 2011 VPN Log Received Vendor ID payload Type = [Dead Peer Detection]
Jan 14 15:04:16 2011 VPN Log [Tunnel Negotiation Info] <<< Responder Received Aggressive Mode 1st packet
Jan 14 15:04:16 2011 VPN Log Aggressive mode peer ID is ID_IPV4_ADDR: '192.168.95.139'
Jan 14 15:04:16 2011 VPN Log No suitable connection for peer '192.168.95.139', Please check Phase 1 ID value
Jan 14 15:04:16 2011 VPN Log initial Aggressive Mode packet claiming to be from 81.156.xxx.xx on 81.156.xxx.xx
But no connection has been authorized, check peer ID Is there some way of making the RV042 behind the BTHH properly identifiable to the other end?
I need some info on how to open an RV042 config backup (.exp) file. I recently had an RV042 that got very wet and it is now dead, and I do not have another on hand. Is there a way to get this information other than loading into another RV042.View 4 Replies View Related

In our USA office we have a RV042 router and in Venezuela we have a RV082 router. We have connected a VPN tunnel (gateway-to-gateway) between both offices.
The point is: How could we redirect the internet traffic from our Venezuela office (RV082) to the USA Office (RV042) to navigate using USA public IP's?
The reason for this is that we need to use online streaming services which are only available for IP's from USA and we can't use them from the Venezuelan IP's.
We can not use the PPTP option since the equipment which will use the streaming services (like hulu, crackle, etc.) in Venezuela is a Google TV device which doesn't allow the configuration of proxy navegation or PPTP VPN connections itself. That's the reason why we need to do that through the routers.
I bought a Cisco Linksys RV042 (Firmware Version: 220.127.116.11-tm) a month ago. I installed it with two Cable Modems (Webstar DPC2100R2) from the same internet provider and with the same individual bandwidths for the two of those. My setup is Dual Wan mode since I only bought this device for load balancing the traffic through the two WAN connections. I need to clone both WAN MAC addresses on the router ports in order to get connected to my ISPs provisioning server. The RV042 has no issues getting a connection on WAN1 when MAC cloning has been made on this port, however, when I clone (user define, different from WAN1) MAC address for WAN2, this port never gets a connection and stays on IP 0.0.0.0 all the time.
I’ve tried factory reset, reloading the latest firmware (which already came pre-installed), switch modems from WAN1 to WAN2 and vice versa, disabling Firewall, turning on and off the ports on Port Management tab, changing SmartLink to Load Balance mode, enabling and disabling Network Service Detection, DHCP vs. Static IP on WAN ports, manual setup, setup through the wizard.
Nothing seems to make WAN2 port function correctly with the User Defined MAC address. The only way to make it work is using the factory (default) MAC address on WAN2, then it gets the IP address from the modem. Again, WAN1 works correctly with a user defined MAC address same as with Default MAC address enabled.I have read endless customer’s posts having the same issue from several years ago in this Community Forum and all over the web, and none of them have had a definite solution to the problem from the manufacturer.
Continued from [URL] which appears to have been closed by a moderator with a reference to Cisco small business website, but the registration there doesn't work, all buttons are inactive etc.
I just need to know what to do with this RV042. I have two modems, a cable and an ADSL. Both are configure correctly, in bridge mode. Both work fine when connected to WAN1, but when connected to WAN2 they never go online (dont' get IP address). The connect lights are on but they never go online.
Firmware Version: 1.3.13.02-tm
