Networking :: Local Area Network Connection Is Not Visible With Lenovo T42
Feb 8, 2012
I have a Lenovo t42 with with Windows XP SP3.
The "Local area network connection" is not visible in Network Connections. The Ethernet controller and adapter driver is properly install (no yellow signs). All Network services are also running properly.
The network is working fine, and getting an IP address from DHCP but has to restart the DHCP service once after booting.
I have a Lenovo 3000g430. I went to the Network connections, and I cannot find Local area connect. We have a Broadband connection that we shared among our friends. Since there is not local area connection Icon, I am unable to connect to internet. In the Network connection, I can find Dial-up(Bluetooth connection and Nokia USB modem OTA); under LAN or High Speed Internet, there is only this Wireless network connection. All of these are working fine. I have checked the device manager and BIOS, everything seems fine and Enabled. To resolve this issue, I have visited many sites and downloaded a Device driver from Lenovo, Broadcom NetXtreme Gigabit Ethernet and installed it again, still no change.
It has worked quiet well with internet connection for about a week.now from the last three days, network is not connecting even in lan and wireless connection I have tried the same lan connection with other desktop. It is working in that computer when troubleshooted,it is showing message as local area connection doesn't have valid ip configuration I have tried disabling the ip6 and only enabling ip4,but of no use when ping is run,it is showing as general failure?
I am using a Lenovo ThinkPad X200 and want to setup a wired local area network. How could I achieve this?
Situation:I just want to connect to the internet and I have a cable connection at home. So, I just want to plug the cable line to my notebook (x200) so that I can access the internet via the cable.
But I don't know how to setup a local area connection in notebook. Since it automatically appear in my desktop, but not in my notebook.
The above problem has just occurred. I am networking a W7 computer to an Windows XP SP3 via a Cat 5 cable connection. Checks of all cables and NIC interfaces show that there ok. I can ping each NIC card and get a response. The NIC cards are configured for obtaining automatic addresses. My connection to the Internet via a Motorola Surfboard modem is ok. I have checked the drivers and they are ok.
Local Area Connection - Network Cable Unplugged I am using Professional 2000 and have a Linksys WRT54G Version 8.2 Wireless Router...have broadband connection through Brighthouse. My laptop works fine but my desk top computer keeps giving me this message.I have checked all the connections and even bought a new network cable to see if it was a hardware issue.
My computer is running on Windows 7. It has had no prior internet connection problems. It is wired to my DV-2020 router. My internet suddenly disappeared, as in, it doesn't work anymore. I'm not sure as to when it disappeared due to my personal absence, but from what I heard it was either during 'starting a game' or 'installing firefox add-ons updates'. Internet does work on other computers sharing the same internet (wired and wireless). On the computer that does not have access to internet it gives a "local area connection - No Network Access" and "local area connection - unidentified network." So far I've tried:
A system restore. Restarting the router (at home as well as the provider) Changing wiring. Disabling / Enabling. Disabling virusscanner.
The link to Local area connection on the PC i am working on is no longer showing under Network and Sharing center. However the connection is up and I can access the internet. If I do an ipconfig /all I see the adapter setting as I set them. In device manager the device is working properly. I checked the BIOS and the NIC is enabled
I have a Dell desktop with Windows XP Home Edition. I recently restored the computer to factory settings and when I tried connecting to the internet the Local Area Connection wasn't showing in My Network Places. I have been searching through other forums and tried the things that they suggested but nothing worked. I am trying to connect to an AT&T U-verse 2Wire router through a wired connection. I tried connecting both wirelessly and wired to another computer and everything worked fine. I checked the Device Manager and there is an ! mark next to the Ethernet Controller. The properties say that the drivers for that device aren't installed. And of course I can't install them since I can't access the internet. Other forums suggested that I check the network adapters option in Device Manager but that isn't available in the device manager.
My error message states that "Windows could not finish repairing the problem because the following action cannot be completed: Registering with DNS".I have no internet connection on my HP PC, which is why I am typing this on my laptop. On the HP I am running windows xp with sp3.I connect to a cable modem provide by Time Warner. This problem started yesterday, so I have been utilizing both computers with one internet connection, or plugging and unplugging the cat5 cable.I have run Microsoft Essential Full scan, as well as Malwarebytes's Anti-malware.Now I ran both of those in Safe mode, and picked up no bugs. I have Avast as my antivirus software, and the message I receive on that is that "Avast will not be able tp protect mail/news (error 10050). I am unable to turn on the web shields for Avast.I have manually entered the IP addresses into my HP from my laptop, all the way thru DNS servers. It still won't connect.I tried using the Internet explorer diagnostic tool, and it came back and said that I have a winsock issue.
1. Internet works ok, everything is fine, but then it stops working for no reason.
2. I open Network and Sharing Center, and do diagnostics. They come up with result: "the default gateway is not available". Nothing works. But Local Area Connection and Network Controller are both enabled.
3. I have to restart computer for the internet to work again. However, it doesn't restart: it hangs forever in "shutting down" screen, and nothing happens. Probably because computer is still trying to connect to the internet (?)
4. After forced restart, internet doesn't work, but if I run diagnostics again, they come up with result: "The Local Area Connection adapter is disabled", and fixes it automatically. Internet works then.
My internet is working fine, but my Ethernet cannot get a connection. On my Ethernet Local Area Connection it says status is: Limited or no connectivity i am running an Ethernet cable from my xbox 360 to the Ethernet adapter slot at the back of my computer, no wireless or anything. And as i say the internet works fine though i cant get any connectivity out of the Ethernet adapter. This used to work fine two weeks ago, now it refuses to work i recently moved and so i disconnected my pc nothing broke and all it did was sit around in a safe place before the move EVERYTHING worked fine, On my xbox the display says:Network adapter - wired IP address - failed?i'm running windows xp sp 2?
I got a new CPU but after 3-4 months I use it, my local area connection is gone.It cannot detect the internet. I use Acer Aspire M1800. OS is Vista. Also, I get error 0x800706ba
I wasn't able to connect to my modem's Ethernet for a month, before that, i was able to use my Ethernet when connected to PC, but when i threw it away, i tried many time to connect to my modem' Ethernet but all the attempts were a failier.......Is it because of the cable that i must connect or is it the com or modem that is wrong?
I have xp pro sp3 i also connect thru fios since i restarted my computer last evening i can't connect this computer was put together for me so no original disks under network connections there is no lan connection can't use system restore tried ipconfig but says internal error and thats all when i try safe mode i see all of the network adapters but i don't see it in regular boot.
I am having this same issue. Except under Network Adapters, I don't have a yellow question mark. I have a amd Athlon(tm) 64x2 dual core processor and operate with windows XP professional service pack 2. my other computer (this pc im using) i have no problem with the connection I can to the the Internet
My internet is working fine, but my Ethernet cannot get a connection. On my Ethernet Local Area Connection it says status is: Limited or no connectivity i am running an Ethernet cable from my xbox 360 to the Ethernet adapter slot at the back of my computer, no wireless or anything. My laptop (win7) can connect to wireless, but not Local Area Connection. This is the capture of my device manager, it reported that the driver of ip6 failure.but I do not think ip6 relates.I tried configuring a static IP address, reinstalling network driver, or disabling and enabling network cards.
howdy,im having trouble with my LAC.it just keeps identifying.i have tried everything,uninstall/reinstall, netsh winsock reset, netsh int ip reset,disable/enable.windows diagnostics comes back with invalid ip address, and modem hardware failure.device manager lists the network adapter as working, yet it doesn't here's my ipconfig[CODE]
I got a used computer from my relatives. When i enable my local area connection then it says aqcuiring ip adress for a while. Eventually it stops trying and says network cable unplugged. It worked fine at my relatives place, but not at my place.
I've been trying to set my IP to a static IP so I can host servers for a few different games and every time I change the IPV4 settings my internet stops working and when I troubleshoot it says "DHCP Not enabled for local area connection.".
I am trying to set up a wifi hotspot with my wireless adaptor. The connection between my ipod and the wireless adaptor in my computer seems to be working fine, but it doesn't connect further to the local area connection (ethernet).I tried to bridge the two networks but it doesn't work I get the error message "An unexpected error occurred while configuring the network bridge"[CODE]
