My windows fire wall wont work. It keeps showing me that as a result of error, the firewall cannot display settings. All attempts to open or turn on the firewall is unsuccessful

I found a work-around: if I use search and query "*" it suddenly returns all encrypted files. So they're definitely on there, they just don't show when browsing...
View 1 Replies View RelatedTRUECRYPT not showing the data and folders I have windows 7 64 bit, I installed truecrypt, and the after that I create a folder put some data and encrypt it with truecrypt.But after few days stranger things happend,When ever I tried to decrypt the folder it don,t show that data.Also I cann't the file which I have to decrypt.Also another partation name L which have other folders can be seen but there is no data inside my folders.I haven,t encrypt the L partation.I left the partation for a month to fine a solution after a month one day the data appears itself and also the hiden folder to decrypt also appear and finally decrypt with the password.I copy few data and closed the pc.When restart the pc again same old problem occur.I cann,t see the folder to crypt it. How to recover my important data back .the partations are all NTFS , but not the and only folders were encrypted.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm new to IT, and have been put in charge of managing our servers hile my boss is on vacation.We currently have a Sonicwall Network Security Appliance that handles our Firewall/VPN and have web content filtering set in place.I have a user who belongs to 2 CFS policy groups that we have set up. I've double checked with Active Directory, and he is a member of both groups.
This person SHOULD have access to Job searches/ and Restaurants,but receives a "content blocked" message on his browser.It appears to me that the settings in Sonicwall are correct, as well with AD member groups.
I am trying to connect to a Security-enabled wireless netowork. I have the key. My problem is that I can't seem to figure out how to enter it. When I try to connect I open the "view available networks"window. I see the network name and it shows a strong signal (all 5 green bars).

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a Linksys WRT610N wireless system with WPA-PSK security and this works fine with several computers but now one computer detects the wireless security as WEP and can thus not connect to the router. I have tried to manually connect to the router with correct security WPA-Personal (TKIP) and correct password but then the computer says "settings saved on this computer for the network do not match the requirements of the network".How can I get the computer to detect the correct security? The computer is running Windows 7 home premium.

View 1 Replies View RelatedJust bought a new Cisco e1200 router last week. When i first hooked it up, it was giving me extremely low (significantly lower than my old router) downloading speeds. After switching the networking mode from "mixed' to "Wireless-G only", the speeds went back to normal. I tried "Wireless-N only", but it didn't work after that. Seemingly, my computer does not work with Wirless-N?
It's been running okay now, but 2 things happen occasionally: When playing a game, I experience lag for a period of 5 minutes, or sometimes 20 minutes. It goes away on its own. Never happened with my old router. When surfing the internet, pages will refuse to load. The connection bars shown at the bottom right hand corner of my computer display a yellow triangle with an exclamation point. This goes away on its own after about 4-5 minutes. These problems come randomly every 3-4 or days, maybe a bit longer.
I opened my iTunes program today and noticed a roommate's MP3 files were picked up on my network. I think the name of the program is Rocket Tube MP3. Anyway, I came on here because our computers use a Wi-Fi internet connection and I was wondering how much of my web activity (history, cookies, temporary files, etc) he could see from my laptop if his computer was a desktop downstairs. He's very tech-savvy (a former IT guy) and I don't want him snooping through my personal records.
