View 3 RepliesI using 881 cisco router and want to block secure sites. I am using classmap to block sites and accesslist to block secure sites. Now the issue is if i need to block youtube, and if doing tracert the IP of google and youtube is in the same subnet.
If i am blocking that IP, google is also blocking with youtube which i does not want. Need blocking youtube secure site only.I am also attaching tracert for both the sites.
I am currently at university, using a Local Area Connection. I am aware that the university blocks torrenting which I am totally fine with though when I try to carry out a process such as posting a large entry on Livejournal.com or Dreamwidth.org, it tries to load for a couple seconds and then fails. When in Google Chrome, it says that it's "uploaded 100%" but then I receive "Error 7 (net::ERR_TIMED_OUT): The operation timed out.". When using Internet Explorer, it either doesn't load at all or I get the standard "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage". When I try to carry out a different process on dreamwidth and livejournal (editing my layout), Chrome tells me "Error 101 (net::ERR_CONNECTION_RESET): The connection was reset." These issues always happen no matter when I try them.
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo I can't seem to access ANY site related to my university (www.concordia.ca) anymore from my home network. I've tried to visit URL or any of its' sister sites from my desktop, my laptop, my iTouch, even my ps3, I've also tried cross-browsing to no avail. I've checked the router page, apparently my Hardware Version is B1 and my Firmware Version is 2.00NA. Access Control is unchecked and there are no sites at all listed under Website Filter. I've also tried resetting using the reset-hole and also by pulling off the power chord. Also did a factory-reset from the router page, the problem persists despite all of that.Every other site works just fine, it's just my university site that refuses to load up. I've browsed the last 7-8 pages of this forum, this doesn't seem to be a common problem based on that little sample. So what gives exactly? I used to be able to visit those sites just fine prior to few days ago.
View 8 Replies View Related I have a LAN with several linux boxes (Fedora 17, both 32 and 64 bits), as well a a WInXP box. All of these are connected to the same switch, which is connected to the inside port of my PIX 515.
For a few sites (mozilla.org happens to be one of them), for http access, the tcp connection is established, but the "GET" request - or anything else for that matter - will not go through the PIX (from inside to wan). I have verified this by first, using wireshark to watch the packets being sent out from the client box, then by using the trace function in the PIX to see that the packets ARE arriving at the inside interface, but ARE NOT sent out of the wan interface.
This is for the linux boxes ONLY. When I do the same thing with my WinXP box, all works: in the PIX trace, I see the packets arrive at the inside interface, and leave the wan interace. And access to these sites are okay.
(What's a bit weird, although somewhat expected, when I connect my android phone to my LAN via WiFi, it too is unable to reach those sites - but then again, android is linux, right?)
In addition to the tracing, I have narrowed this problem down by connecting a linux box directly to my DSL router, then replacing the PIX with a simple router/gateway. Both of those solutions work.
Some background:
I have been using this PIX for about 10 years now, with the same configuration (except IP addresses). Only in the last several months has this problem started to show up.
I got this pix from a dead company at a really great price (free), so I'd like to keep it, and not have to spend money on something else. I don't have any support license, and have not been able to get any software upgrades. Here is its version info:
taz(config)# sho ver
Cisco PIX Firewall Version 6.2(2)
Cisco PIX Device Manager Version 2.0(2)
Compiled on Fri 07-Jun-02 17:49 by (code)
Serial Number: 405200362 (0x1826ddea)
Running Activation Key: 0x38ac31f3 0x0630df47 0x9a77b805 0x8bc39a60
PS: Since this PIX is at its end of life, I was wondering if any of the software upgrades would be now available without a license?
I am on a 200GB/month 100mbit cable plan with Telstra, and we have a number of sites/servers which we can download from which do not count towards our monthly download limit. Normally there would be 3-4GB of usage per day which was 'unmetered' but since upgrading to the E4200 router, everything that should be 'unmetered' is not being recognised and is being counted towards my monthly download limit - in other words, all traffic through the router is counted as chargable downloads.
Im not sure how it all works, but the E4200 router is definitely blocking something out... if i plug directly into the modem or use my previous router (WRT160N) everything works perfectly.
We are going to "publish"(I don't know if this is correct word to use;)) our mail server on Cisco 2921. As far as I know it can be easily achieved with static NAT. But the thing is, we don't want to publish it on standard 443 port i.e. we want router to listen for https connections on other port than 443, and then redirect this connection to internal server with private ip.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'am using ASA 5510 and I try to understand how PAT is working.I want to add a Mail Server in the LAN and a webmail using port 3000 on the server. ( webmail must be reachable from the WAN)This is my Configuration :actually LAN users access internet using NAT with one global IP ( 194.x.x.69) which is the ASA WAN interface.
WAN ----- ISP Router ---------- FW ---------- LAN -------- Mail Server + Webmail
| (25) | (3000)
194.x.x.69 192.168.1.254 192.168.1.6
I need to forward port 3000 and port 25 from outside to inside. For example, from the WAN : [URL] must be redirect toward 192.168.1.6:3000 . What is the Correct Configuration ? And what about the Inside/Outside Traffic,Is there any configuration to add ?
MY ISP installed one router in my lab.for internet connectivity they mail me steps :connect your Laptop directly to gi0/3 port to check internet connectivity with public ip 1.1.1.x and Gateway 1.1.1.1 with subnet mask 255.255.255.240 after connection I surprised because I am able to access only google sites like gmail, google search etc. but I am able to ping/traceroute all sites.from browser I am able to access only google sites only.In Router no firewall no such access list.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am going to hook my laptop directly up to my wireless router via ethernet. I will be showing them security, SSID, etc. My issue is when I put in my WAN and LAN settings. What exactly is the difference between a WAN address and a LAN address.I kept my Lan address that same as the router. 198.162.1.1.I create WAN addresses as 198.162.128.45 with subnet mask as 255.255.255.000 abut not sure what to put in for my gateway. Logic say 198.162.128. 1; however that doesn't work.I then configured my tcp/ip to reflect this. Although I can always access my router website, I cannot access any other web sites.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have recently been having a very annoying problem with my internet connection. I am not able to connect to some websites: the sites that are unavailable can not be accessed on any device connected to my home network (wireless or plugged directly into the router). I know that the problem does not lie with the sites themselves, since they are working for other people, and I know the sites are not blocking my IP, because when I reset the router, the problem sites become accessible but other sites become inaccessible (on all devices). The problem isn't the router either: I've tried two, and the same problem has arisen with both. Moreover, I have established that the problem does not lie with DNS resolution. I have repeatedly flushed the DNS cache; DNS lookups work fine on the problem sites, but when I ping the given IP addresses I am getting some packet loss (not necessarily 100% loss). When I use a proxy, I can access the sites without any problem.
View 12 Replies View RelatedFor a few weeks now, I couldn't open any long links on Twitter. I can only open short links which can be highlighted, then right-click and "switch to 'website'". For example, I can open this link, because it's short enough to highlight the whole thing and then rightclick:It opens like that because it directly goes to that website without going through the shortened link first. When there's a long link like this one it won't open, just bring me to a page which says:"Oops, Google Chrome couldn't find t.co"This was mainly on Twitter, but now I found out that none of the shortened links like bit.ly, etc work either.

View 9 Replies View RelatedSo I had trouble connecting to some sites before like apple and such right? No big deal, just one site. Probably down. Then more and more.I got worried, then figured it was my ISP and went to neighbor to check. No. It wasn't. I ran home and checked my router, googled it before all my internet went down. I read something about UPNP being enabled and so after my internet was down, I went and checked, it was, disabled it.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am having an issue with my computer that started today. Here are the basic facts:1. Nearly every internet site I try to visit does not load. Facebook and Wikipedia work, as well as ALL Google sites (including YouTube, Gmail, Google News, etc.). Nothing else I have tried to load is loading properly. 2. It could be a coincidence, but these three sites were also my Firefox bookmarks. However, I have reset the default settings for Firefox (including bookmarks) and these three sites still work and nothing else. Additionally, these three sites load in Internet explorer, so the problem isn't specific to Firefox. 3. I don't believe it's a problem with my router/internet connection because I have another computer on the same connection that's working fine (I'm typing this message on the other computer). 4. I successfully pinged other websites using Command.5. I suspect it MIGHT be malware/virus because I have no anti-virus/anti-malware software on the computer that's having problems.

View 1 Replies View RelatedCertain sites on my desktop will not load. These sites include speedtest.net, twitter, battle.net ect. Youtube opens, but videos don't play. However some work fine, such as reddit. However, my connection is fine on my laptop. My laptop is wireless and my desktop is wireless.I recently got my desktop back from repairs, and it has a new motherboard, with a clean instal of windows vista. I installed all the drivers ect. It says im connected to the internet, and I can access some sites. I've flushed the DNS, and called my provider. They say nothing is wrong on their end.Oh, and after ringing the repair shop, they said to install adobe and java. Java installed fine, but the adobe site wouldn't load (lol). So I copied the adobe files from my laptop over to the desktop. Youtube videos now play, but it feels slow, considering im on a 30MB download connection.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a problem on my Google Chrome explorer that if for example I am going to [URL] so every time I am clicking in a link (no matter what... some friend's profile, or friend's pictures...) I see only the blue Facebook bar on top and that it. So if I want to page to load perfectly I need to mark the address and click enter, and then the page loads perfectly.
An I need to do this any time I am entering any link. And it's not only on this site. it's also some others sites includes Twitter.
I tried to see if the problem continues in other explorer like firefox and IE, but not... it works perfectly there!
I just switched to TWC from AT&T and one of my computers running Vista, via wireless, cannot open any inet sites. The browser appears to do its DNS thing, but it sits WAITING for the site then says it can't connect. I have 3 other computers, Vista and W7, and an Xbox that connect OK. IPCONFIG shows valid IP addresses, DNS and gateway. Firewall/AV is off. It connects fine via wire. AND it connects with no security on the router. The router is a Cisco E3000. The laptop is an HP.

View 11 Replies View RelatedI have two sites linked by fibre a few miles apart, site A is on a 10.0.0.0 range, site B is on a 192.0.0.0 range, at site b there is a firewall with 2 cards, Site A also has a firewall, it external is poiting to the internet at site B, so basically site A get it internet from site Bs internet. Now they have decided that site A needs to be able to have access to one sql server at site B, how can this be achieved without allowing all traffic across the link, as, for example, both sites have their own DHCP for and cannot have site A giving out IPs to site B, so its a bitmore complicated than just linking the two can it be as simple as a masquerading rule at site B, with a second card in the sql server or 3 VLANs at site B (one for site b one for site a and one for the external internet, with site As traffic tagged), idk i cant get my head around it.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a laptop that works perfectly fine when plugged into a network cable, but the wifi refuses to work. It pulls an ip, and everything looks good when I run ipconfig/all, but it can't even ping the router. All other computers on the network are working fine. I've flushed dns, set static IP and DNS, uninstalled/reinstall device, updated drivers, bios, and firmware, and even created a backup image of the computer and reloaded the os using the recovery partition. The event log doesn't tell me anything, and there are no flags in the device manager. I'm at a complete and total loss. I cannot figure this one out.The laptop is a Compaq Presario CQ50-142US. Vista 32bit OS. Everything was working perfectly fine before it got a virus. I ran through the standard procedures of AVG, Malwarebytes, TDSSKiller, and even resorted to Combofix, but somewhere along the line the wifi dropped off and will not come back.I even double checked the HOSTS file and IE proxy settings to ensure I wasn't crazy; although I know those should've affected the wired connect too.My last step is to either replace the wifi chip (which I don't think is the problem), or wipe it and load the os from scratch, but I don't have an oem disc since it has the recovery partition.
