I have the WR841N v6/v7 Firmware 3.12.5 Build 100929
The router stops showing up after 30 minutes to 1 hour. If I switch it off and on , it starts working normally but again suddenly stops and cannot be detected after 30 mts- 1 hour.

I have had my WR841N for about a year, supplied to me by my WISP. I like the router in terms of facilities but it seems to have one really annoying problem.
The router becomes inaccessible via the webpage after a random period of several days. I have at times associated the issue with occasional loss of radio broadband service but it is not always so. To try and further localise the problem I set the router up to send emails of the log to me every two hours from 17/04/2013 but today for the second time the emails stopped arriving after the 02:29 message and the router is inaccessible again. The router previously locked up with loss of broadband service on 26/04/2013 sometime after emailing a log at 02:41 on that day but had been running without issue from a cold restart at 12:25 as soon as I noticed loss of service.
Today I have not lost broadband service and so even though I am no longer receiving an emailed log or able to access the router via its webpage I am leaving well alone for the present. Some months ago when I originally noticed the web access issue I downloaded and installed the latest firmware TL-WR841N-v7-120201 and I note that there have been no further firmware releases for the v7 model.
My broadband service is delivered via radio link from a local transmitter mast and is reliable with typical download speed of 20-30Mbps and 30-40Mbps upload, seldom if ever affected by weather so I now feel the problem is inherent in the router rather then being the result of some issue affecting broadband service which has been solid since 26/04/2013
Without the log I have no way of knowing what was happening when the router became inaccessible but I attach the last 24 hours of received log below.

Took my ages to find that I need to post in the 300Mbps Wireless Routers forum to get support with the TL-WR841N. All the little subgroups are a little over-engineered to say the least.
I'm keen to improve the performance of this router. It needs rebooting and Apple based clients need to reconnect all the time.

We received new tablet and smart tv but cannot use them due to connection problems. The tv will not connect to the router and the tablet shows strong router strength but will not connect to the internet. I checked for firmware updates and there are 3. Do I simply install the latest firmware or all 3?

I have a problem with using wi-fi. I am able to connect to the router with my Samsung Galaxy S3, Galaxy S2 or my iPad but when i try to use the internet it doesn't work. I tried resetting but the problem is still there

The sun sign on the modem has been flashing for a couple of days but I am still getting the internet. Is there anyway I can find out why its doing this? I have tried rebooting but still starts to flash.

i bought the TL-WR841N a week back. the problem is that the internet connection has a web based login( wherin i have to go the "login.hathway.com" and enter a username and password provided by the service provider). i was wondering if there is anything i can do so that the wifi router on its own can log on to my account automatically every time i connect a device to the router. This would save alot of time for me.

I have recently purchased and installed a TL-WR841N wireless router to replace an older system. After following all of the quick install guide and the like I got it set up and working correctly both wired and wireless. However one laptop in the household, an Acer Aspire 5315 running Windows Vista 32bit, does not connect. Using an ethernet cable works fine but the wireless signal is seen and appears to connect but does not find the internet and states Local Only Access.When connected wirelessly I also cannot ping the device but when connected with a cable I can and get a good return.The firmware is up to date on the router and the latop is full up to date with drivers and windows updates.

I am wondering if it is worth switching to OpenWRT firmware for my TL-WR841N V8.0 ..Has anyone successfully switched to OpenWRT Attitude Adjustment Release (12.09) ? If so are you happy with the features and stability provided ? I checked for the Gargoyle firmware, and t seems there are still some issues with TL-WR841N release 8.0 ... Therefore I am not considering this alternative firmware for now.

I recently encountered a problem with my router. It's configuration page is not accessible quickly. When I opened it ( by typing 192.168.1.1 in my browser) it took ages to open and even when it did, the page lacked a lot of features i.e., it did not load properly. Then on a suggestion by a friend, I downloaded the latest correct version (I have an IQ above 60) for my router but the problem persisted. And it is only on my PC. When I access it from some other PC, it opens as it should. My router is only 6 months old.

recently i bought wireless router TL-WR841N and there hasn't been a day or should i say few hours without restarting/turning on-off.I have cable(no modems,etc)Longest time it has ran without restarting was around 20hours.The problem is it RANDOMLY looses connection like this , but it's not the only problem , mostly when i leave computer and go to sleep or other business i leave router turner ON (no else have access to it and no one touches it), when i come back it just does not connect to internet, it shows that everything is fine , but i have no access to internet.This happens to all connected computers.I have dynamic ip I have russian version of windows xp sp3 , but i think everything is pretty understandable here. connection timed out/request timed out

FYI the problem is not in my computers(i tried setting up wireless networks from 2 different pc's) and i'm pretty sure it's not ISP's fault too(everything works fine through cable) , because this never happens with other wireless networks, etc.

I bought a TL-WR841N to use instead of our Virgin Super-hub which dropped the wifi regularly. It took me a while but I stumbled with the set up and got it working.Super-hub (in modem mode) - cable - TL-WR841N - 2 x cables running to 2 switches for (TV, Sky+, WII) and (PC, X-Box). Everything is spot on apart from the other half's Iphone and Ipad. Neither of them can get on the web in the bedroom. Both apples will join the network, but none will be able to get onto the web. The Wifi bars are on display on both products but they just keep spinning and searching to get on the web. I bought a Huawei repeater plug hoping that would work, but it just slows down everything else that can get on the network.Remembering that this happens only in one room, is there something that I can alter that would let these 2 apples access the web besides walking out on the landing every time she needs to update a web page ?

I bought this router for the advertised 300 mbs, my last 150 router was giving me 6/7 mbs over wireless upload on ftp. Tp link router is giving me 800 k.
Download works on wi fi , i got 9,3 mbs from a 150 N adapter.
I tried all security options , even mac filtering . And i am trying to ftp over network , not the internet.

I get this new router TL-WR841N from amazon.com, I get no signal/internet connection on my computer when I install/connect the router using the installation min CD (same procedure at listed here: url...The DSL connection is good, since I get internet connection when I connect my modem directly (without the router) to my computer. My modem is the old Siemens SpeedStream 4100 with IP Address of 192.168.0.1 from ATT.Is my router deficit ?
Apparently there is a vulnerability issue which was just discovered with TP-LINK TL-WR841N wireless router running firmware version: 3.13.9 Build 120201 Rel.54965n and below,as described here: [URL] and here: [URL] there latest firmware 3.13.27 Build 121101 Rel.38183n already addressing this issue or is there any other planned correction expected to address this vulnerability issue ?

I have tried to go through the tech support email but no dice. My router disconnects every two days. The sys light will stay solid and require a reboot and my computer connected to the router will be unaffected . I have a 30mb connection with only 2-3 wireless clients on at the same time as the wired. The response I got from tech support email after waiting almost a week without a response was :

This is answer I get after already asking once why they want me to downgrade for a different router . What exactly the TL-WR1042ND is going to do for me that the one I have won't,but I cannot get a answer.I have no idea what they mean by "competent ", I don't believe my network is anything special and see no reason why the problem would be fixed by downgrading . This is the second router since December I have had and really dont feel like paying another 15$ shipping back to newegg for a refund.

I have set up the router with a USB FAT32 Stick 8gb shared six folders with about 5gb of music inside the server only streams the first folder to the network and inside that folder all the MP3 files and another 2 sub folders but not others. Whats the reason for this is there a limit to the amount of files that can be shared if so this should be made clear in your

(My router says Version 1.9).Had this router about a month. It works fine. Using it in Wireless mode wpa2 security. Get excellent speeds. HOWEVER> It freqently drops connectivity and fails to allow wireless clients to connect at all. (You can see the SSID via wireless clients, but not connect to it). To restore it, I have to disconnect from Power, wait a moment, then reconnect to power. It recycles and connections are working again with no problems (UNTIL NEXT TIME). Seems to happen every few days.
I checked the web site and I appear to have the most current firmware.I have a Trendnet router on different channels in another part of the house which has never had this problem. I disconnected it to test if it was somehow involved, but the TP-Link router had same symptoms when it (trendnet) was not connected. Our Actiontec Router (VERIZON provides this as base connectin to them serving the Cable TV DVRs also) ) has its wireless disabled and is the DHCP server provider to the home network. DHCP is disabled on the TP Link.

I am experiencing an issue since I bought my new laptop.I connect to the Internet with Windows 8 and TL-WR1043ND.My issue is that ever since I installed the printer utility from the site I hear an ON/OFF sound in my speaker randomly and I can not figure out what`s wrong.I think it`s trying to search for my printer but it it off.Also wi-fi disconnects randomly ever since this application was installed.What can I do to fix this issue.Computer works fine without the application.There is no report about this issue in the Event Viewer.

I'm having the problem to playback video files from Media Server on Samsung TV.And i found out the problem, that media server showing video files without extensions as avi or mp4.Windows Player somehow recognize video codec and container without extensions, but Samsung TV doesn't.
The setup:
(1) E3000 as root router - IP: 192.168.1.1 - DHCP Server: Enabled - Start IP Add: 192.168.1.100
(2) TL-WR841N as bridge - IP:192.168.1.2 - DHCP Server: Disabled - WDS Enabled
The problem:I bridged (2) Wirelessly to (1).when i'm connected to (1) there seem to be no problem at all, the internet is working just fine and i can even ping & connect (2), i guess that means the bridging is working.But when im connected to (2), I get a 'limited connection' & I can't connect the internet. I also can't ping & connect to (2).The IP assigned for the computer that is connected to (2) Wirelessly is not matching the DHCP confg. (169.254.228.216).I have reason to belive that the problem is somehow from a wrong configuration with the LinkSys router but i dont know what it could be. i started from scratch, reseting the two routers over and over again while trying different configurations but with no luck.

I set up my router and it does not get a WAN IP.The PPPoE user/pw ist 100% correct but in the "status field" it always says: "connecting" and i can't get an IP.The router is connected with the modem via RJ45 cabel that was in the box.My PC has no problem getting to the internet with direct modem communication (pppoe).

The connection is slow when I connect my notebook to the TP-Link TL-WR1043ND wireless router. If I connect my notebook directly to to the ISP modem, the connection speed back to normal.

Have just bought this new router and it works faultlessly on all laptops and mobile phones in the house except for a laptop running Vista, the TCP IP properties look all right, it asks for a username and password ( only if connected by an ethernet cable, otherwise it cant access a network) but they are not accepted, the same username password was accepted for al the other computers

Every 5 to 7 days my router loses connection with WAN (ISP modem) but connection over LAN is fine. It seems that 1043ND tries to connect to DSL modem from AT&T by username and password (that does not exists) instead of doing Dynamic IP. I understand that AT&T modem is of type of PPPoE but there is not a password or user id and connection must be dynamic. Page 192.168.0.1/logininfo of modem complains that I was trying to login with incorrect user id password. Every time I have to
1- connect the modem directly to my computer so the modem resets.
2- I have to reset 1043ND to factory default, reboot, and connect cables back how they were, Then go to WAN page do a release and renew to get connected to WAN again.
