Toshiba Cannot Connect To Wireless Network?
Jan 6, 2013
I have a Toshiba Portege Z935-P300 and I have had no problems connecting to the internet until about 2 days ago.My computer detects the home wireless network but states that it was unable to connect. All other computers, tablets, cell phones in the house can connect with no problem. When I tried to connect to the internet with an ethernet cable, it worked just fine.I'm not sure if this is related but this happened at about the same time as my roommate got an Xbox and started using it. He can connect just fine too.[CODE]

I recently reformatted the hard drive and when I finished I tried to connect to our home network and the laptop will not. The wireless is on, the network shows up, I click connect, put in the password, but it keeps coming up that it cannot connect. When I click diagnose, it reads that I can either try reconnecting to the network or reset the wireless router/access point and try again. We have a desktop connected, 2 laptops, & TiVo with no problems. This is the only laptop that has a problem. Yesterday I reformatted another Toshiba laptop's hard drive and had no trouble reconnecting to the home network. I've read several threads regarding this matter, and have tried the following:
(1) TCP/IP stack repair options for use with Windows Vista - nothing looked unusual with each step, and (2) ipconfig /all - attaching the txt file with results.
I am at a loss. I don't want to hard wire it as the last time I did this, the internet was lost on all of out devices and it took me a day to get it back to the way it was.

i have a home network my dell netbook and dell xps desktop are connected to it, both are able to connect to the internet, my toshiba satellite for some reason won't connect. i think the wifi radio isn't working because there is an icon on the front of the lapptop with a picture of a wifi transmitter, and the amber light is lit for that. my router won't recognize it and neither will the other computers. it was working just fine to connect to the internet before i set the network up with the other two computers. the toshiba is the only one that has windows 7 btw, the others one has vista and one has xp. don't know if this has anything to do with it, but im stumped. i trtied to do it manually, but the router keeps saying the mac address is invalid, i get that from ip config.

I have an annoying problem with my netbook. It's a Toshiba NB525. My laptop can access the internet and connect wirelessly at home.
I'm currently staying at a hotel. I can detect and connect to the network but no internet.
The way the internet at this hotel works is that it redirects you to a site to log in before gaining access.
It seems to work intermittently but very rarely. Requiring me to reset the connection multiple times. Problem is, my other devices work perfectly fine to connect.

I have a Toshiba Satellite Laptop U405D-S2902 running Vista 32 bit that cannot connect to the internet. It is able to detect the available networks in range, but fails to connect after entering the password. I know the passwords to use the wireless are accurate, since I'm online right now typing this. The computer has trouble connecting to all networks, but works if I plug the ethernet cable directly in. I went ahead an deleted all of the saved preferred networks, as my other Toshiba needs a tidying up once in a while and likes those networks going disconnected.

I have a toshiba a200-27r laptop (operating on vista) and a wi-fi kodak esp5250 wireless printer. All drivers are in downloaded. My internet connection is by dongle only on 3, a zte mf627.When I bought the printer I was told I didnt need anything else to print from pc to printer for the internet. Then spent a week trying to configure both. After talking to someone else they told me I needed a router to act as a bridge, so I bought one (more expense!), a belkin n150 f6d420uk4. The printer is now set up to the router (and recognises it) and the pc recognises the router. Unfortunately, I keep getting asked for a network security key/name to set up a local network for the pc,and I dont ever remember setting one up. If I go into the kodak printing program on the desktop, it just says, printer disconnected. I have know spent 2 weeks and more money on something that I thought was easy to set up. I am worried about throwing the lot through the window!! I have tried installing the printer on a network on the pc only to have an error message 'you do not have sufficient rights to perform this operation'

My Toshiba Satellite (C655-S5049) with Atheros wireless works just fine at my home and a number of public wireless locations (Panara Bread, libraries, school, etc.) There are many other public wireless locations where I try to connect and just get an "unable to connect" dialog box which gives me the options to "diagnose connection problem" (blames the access point). The places that work, work consistently. The places that don't work, I've never been able to get in even though people around me are online with their machines.I'm running thie machine pretty much as it was delivered out of the box. I've installed AVG for virus protection, and I have all the default protection settings (firewall, sharing, etc.).

My mom has a Toshiba laptop that she got for Christmas and a lexmark all-in-one wireless printer. Every time she tries to print something to the wireless printer, the item just stays in the printing queue. However, once she restarts her laptop all of a sudden the laptop and printer seem to communicate, and the printer always starts printing whatever was in her queue from the previous time.so when she wants to print something it automatically starts printing, and she doesn't have to restart her computer every time to print stuff.

i have a Toshiba Satellite A215 with Windows Vista Home Premium. The laptop has been running on my wireless network for several years with no issues. For some reason I can no longer access the wireless network/Internet but can through the LAN (cable). I have other 2 other computers (Dell desktop and iPad) that are running on the wireless network so it just seems to be the Toshiba laptop that is having the problem. I have not done anything new to the network router or the Toshiba and am not sure why the Toshiba all of a sudden no longer does not have wireless access. The devise manager says the adapter is functioning properly. I have looked at other resolved issues on your site that have had this issue but have not been able to resolve my issue. As requested with other similar issues here is the ipconfig for the Toshiba.

I have three N-compliant devices and several G-compliant devices on my network. I also have two routers, one being used an an access point. The first is a Linksys WRT350N; the second is a Linksys WRT54G. I have the G router connected as an access point so that I can reserve the N router for the N devices and achieve N speeds.N devices:Toshiba laptop; network adapter is Intel 4965AGN.Toshiba laptop; network adapter is Atheros AR5008XLexmark Wireless printerRouter settings:WRT350N: Security Mode WPA2 Personal; Encryption AES; Network Mode N-only; Radio Band 40MHz.WRT54G: Security Mode WPA Personal; Encryption AES; Network Mode MixedThe best I can recall, I set the WRT54G to WPA Personal instead of WPA2 Personal because one of the G-compliant devices did not list the WPA2 Personal setting -- but this is based on memory only.To reserve the WRT350N for the N devices and achieve N speeds, I set the Wireless Mode to N-only and Radio Band to 40MHz., and each router broadcasts its own unique SSID. Once I set everything up, I saw a substantial increase in the link speed reported by the Toshiba Connectivity Doctor (I realize there are issues about taking these numbers at face value, but let me continue). The Toshiba Connectivity Doctor reported WRT350N link speed at 130 Mbps and everything appeared to be working well.PROBLEMUntil recently, no problems were apparent; the Toshiba Connectivity Doctor indicated the two laptops connected to the WRT350N at 130 Mbps, the printer connected to and printed via the WRT350N, and all G devices connected through the WRT54G. Recently, however, network performance declined and the Toshiba Connectivity Doctor indicated erratic link speeds ranging from 1 Mbps to 130 Mbps.I found through a little research that my quest to reserve the WRT350N router for N devices lacked one element: according to Linksys info for the router, setting the N Transmission Rate to anything other than Auto results in denying access to B/G clients.I set the N Transmission Rate to 270 Mbps (the highest setting). The Linksys printer works fine and the Toshiba Connectivity Doctor indicates a solid 130 Mbps link speed for the Toshiba laptop with the Intel 4965AGN adapter card. The other Toshiba (with the Atheros AR5008X adapter card), however, is now only able to connect to the WRT54G (the Toshiba Connectivity Doctor indicates a solid link speed of 54 Mbps to the G SSID). If I reset the WRT350N N Transmission Rate to Auto, the Toshiba with the Atheros card can once again connect to the N Router -- but the erratic link speeds and the network degradation returns also.I have verified that the Atheros AR5008X network adapter is N-compliant. There aren't many settings on the Atheros AR5008X adapter card configuration, but I can find no documentation on the Internet for this card.As far as I can determine, all firmware is up to date for both routers and all drivers are up to date for both adapter cards.I'd love to know what changed in the first place, but I'm more concerned with fixing this problem. How I can get the Atheros adapter card to connect to the WRT350N with the N Transmission Rate set to something other than Auto?

So I have a Toshiba Satellite L555D-S7005. When I put it into Hibernate mode (I dont like turning it off, takes too much time) it paralyzes my whole wireless network. It makes it so that anybody else on WIRELESS gets disconnected, and cannot reconnect easily (they must restart the router). This gets very irritating when my brother is on the X-BOX/Laptop and he cannot continue playing games or whatever. If I disconnect my laptop the network goes down for them, but not for me. I can log right back on and connect with no problems. The wired computer has no problems with internet when I turn off my laptop.

My Toshiba Satellite Pro laptop has suddenly stopped detecting my wireless network. IT detects every other network in the area but mine. Other computers in the house have no problem detecting and connecting.Wireless is enabled, it happens no matter how close or far from the router. The network is set to broadcast the ssid, etc. I have not changed any settings on my laptop or router, this has suddenly started happening. Have updated drivers to no effect.Occasionally, the network pops up when I re-start the laptop. Rarely works and sometimes it will detect the network, then fail to connect, then the network can't be detected at all.

Since yesterday evening, my Toshiba Satellite Laptop (L505D-ES5025) hasn't been able to register my wireless network, though it registered it perfectly fine yesterday morning. I can only detect the local area connection, and can only connect to the internet via the ethernet cable (which is what I'm using right now).Even when I go to the "Change Adapter Settings" from Control Panel, it won't detect the wireless network that I use. The other computers/laptops in the house work, but this one can't regiester to it, even though it's the closest to the router. When I troubleshoot the problem, the only solution is to use the ethernet cable, but I can't depend on it since the whole point of using a wireless connection is to go wireless.I have tried the Control Panel solution of going to the device manager, but I can't find the wireless network from there. This Toshiba computer also doesn't have a physical WLAN button; rather hot keys are used (though when I use this, it doesn't anyways).I also tried to find the drivers for it to update, but those won't either update, or they do update but nothing happens. In other words, I can't do anything because my laptop can't find ANY networks whatsoever except for the one that is found after I connect it to the ethernet cable. My OS is Windows 7, 64-bit Home Premium.

I bought my dad a Netgear N150 DGN1000 Wireless ADSL Router to replace his D-link router which kept dropping the wireless signal. I have established a wired connection and my ipad, iphone and his old laptop connect wirelessy to it without any problems but I just cannot work out why his laptop won't connect to the internet. It recognises the wireless signal and it says its connected and that the signal is excellent but when I try to go on the web or check emails it just won't work.I've tried deleting all his wireless networks and starting from scratch but don't know what else to tryHis PC is running windows Vista
