Unable To Renew IP / Limited And No Connectivity?

So I have decided to register here and see where that gets meWhen I try to repair my wireless network connection, it gives me the error: "Unable to renew your IP address" accompanied by a little bubble that says something about limited or no connectivity. Other computers are working fine, so I doubt it's the modem.If I try to go into the cmd and type in "ipconfig/release" it says that it's already been released. Then when I type in "ipconfig/renew" it takes a while, but tells me something along the lines of "unable to connect to your DHCP server."I've tried the winsock fix and that hasn't done me any good. I've also tried: netsh winsock reset, netsh int ip reset reset.log, and netsh winsock reset catalog. All useless.[CODE]

Since last week, I have not been able to connect to the internet. I have had some trouble with this in the past when booting up, but usually I can manually select our wireless network on my own and it works fine. But since last week, I have not been able to connect at all. On the Wireless Connection Status, it showed Limited or No connectivity. I tried the repair button in the Wireless Network Connection Status Support tab, and that told me that I cannot connect because I could not renew my IP address.

Problem connecting to my girlfriends internet connection, just tried connecting for the first time and came across this limited or no connectivity message, using the cmd/renew IP address method did nothing and have no errors regarding any network adapters under the device manager.After doing the IPCONFIG /all function I get the following:

I have two computers - one that is a newer mac with no problems getting on to the wireless home network (from which I'm posting). The other is an older Dell desktop running XP and using a wireless card. I'm trying to setup the desktop on a new network (has worked on other home networks in the past) and I keep getting the "Limited or No Connectivity" and the network repair fails because it can't renew the IP address. In the IP config, I'm getting the default 169.254.x.y.

I use this computer at work and at home on wireless network. At work it has been fine but at home I sometimes get the "Limited or no conectivity" message. I have not tried any solutions yet as it usually goes away if I reboot and if that does not do it taking it to work (where it works FINE) and then back home ususlly fixes the problem. Last night I was able to go online and google something but when I clicked on a link it did nothing for several minutes and THEN told me I had 'Limited or no conectivity' where just a few minutes before I was 'connected' signal strength 'excellent'. When I click on 'repair connection' it tells me it can not renew IP address.As stated I have not tried anything, changed anything, and there is no one else using computers on the network

Laptop suddenly not connecting to Internet. Have tried clicking repair but no luck. Totally lost now - just keeps saying unable to IP address. Wireless network connection msg says limited or no connectivity... IP address says 169.254.98.210- nothing under default gateway.

I recently added a new laptop to my network and it will only connect wirelessly for short periods of time and then it says limited connectivity. I had this problem with the old laptop and got it fixed but it was running windows xp and this one runs windows 7.

Until a couple of days ago I was able to connect to the internet wirelessly on both my laptop as well as my desktop. However, that has changed for the desktop, now I am unable to access the internet on it. It says that it can detect the signal. When I tried to renew the ip it responded with "An error occurred while renewing interface Wireless Network Connection : unable to contact your DHCP server. Request has timed out." [code]

I'm seeing some weird behavior trying to connect my Windows XP SP3 desktop via a USB wireless to my Windows network via Linksys WRT120N Router. It is unable to connect with DHCP. "Limited or No Connectivity" is shown on the network icon and no internet connectivity is present. When i manually assign a static IP, i am able to get connectivity to browse the internet, and I am able to ping the other computers in my network, but I am unable to view the windows workgroup. I am able to manually map network drives, but those drop continually. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to the connectivity and the dropping while I am using the static IP. DHCP does not work at all. I'm just trying to get this computer connected to the windows workgroup so that I can map network drives and printers once and for all. Right now the rest of the network (ethernet cabled to router) works fine. I'm thinking it may be something in the routers wireless config, as I am having the same issues (DHCP not working at all, static IP working but constantly dropping) with a Mac laptop.

I lost connection for a moment on my computer last Sunday, it connects with a very strong signal but doesn't renew the IP address. I tried Run>cmd>/release>/renew and got a message saying something like "Cannot contact your DHCP server" (something like that anyways)

My computer stopped connecting a few days ago. It had been working great until then. I have two other computers in the same wireless environment and they are working great. I've done all the preliminary checks and had all the settings checked by Comcast (my internet provider) but they were not able to evaluate the problem without cost. I've been unemployed for the last two years so I need to find another option to correct this issue. Every time I attempt to connect, windows says that they are unable to renew the IP address. Limited or no connectivity is shown. I've also noticed that If I leave the home where I'm trying to connect, I'm able to connect to outside sources like Wayport or any other network without any problem. My router is a Linksys Model #WRT320N. It's working just fine with the other computers in the house. I tried cleaning out all my "preferred networks" in the wireless Network Connection Properties but that didn't work either.

I randomly lost Internet connection, and since have not been able to Renew an IP address! Other people in my household can connect just fine. I've tried numerous things to get my internet back, but continue to be unsuccessful in doing so.

I have been having some gripes with the above problem for the past few days, connecting several PCs in my office into a network. To cut a long story short, it's a bunch of XP SP2 and SP3 machines with only some of them having these issues. The network consists of two switches and one router with integrated modem and wireless. Internet access is established over that router/ ADSL modem.I have drawn out all the cabling and made all the connections myself, I don't doubt network related hardware one bit. Basically, I had the problem on two PCs, I tested connectivity on that cable with a laptop which didn't have any problems connecting to the network. I manage a small office network IP's are generated via a rooter. I need to add a new pc to the network and here is where the problem starts.I have a cable from a HUB in that office which has a splitter 1 way goes to a PC the other is empty. At first i tried connecting the other PC from that splitter but i get the Limited or no Connectivity message on both PCs. If i connect only one of them to the splitter the connection works fine.Now i tried with a HUB, made a Crossover cable from the splitter to the HUB in the WAN port, same deal both PCs get Limited ot no Connectivity. THe strange thing is that if i connect only one via the HUB the same thing happens.I am really out of ideas, my only option left is to connect the PC from the main HUB which means allot of cable posing.

When using an Ethernet cord, I have no problems connecting to the internet. Also, my iPhone and my Wii have no problems connecting (wirelessly). However, I can't get any laptops to connect to my wireless. I have tried three different laptops and get the same problem, that it can connect to the network but limited or no connectivity.

I have a spare computer I build. Its a FX-60 on some old asus 939 motherboard. I installed xp in it because I don't have any wireless network adapters that work with linux or Windows 7.I am using an old Linksys WUSB11 Ver 2.6. USB adapter.The computer does have connectivity if I plug in an ethernet cord from the router. Worked fine, fast, was able to install Sp3, etc.I can't get the wireless to work. I get excellent connection strength, but can't actually do anything with it.Since this is XP and I haven't messed around with XP network settings for years, I think I got a bit rusty and spoiled with Windows 7.

I got the urge to play a Windows game, so I used my restore disks to install XP on my Acer Aspire One A150. Unfortunately, my wireless card does not work anymore (?). I am dual-booting with Ubuntu 10.10 at the moment and my wireless card works there with no problem.I get a Limited or No Connectivity error every time.I'm connected to a router, which I have reset and works okay in Linux. I am connected currently using a USB D-Link N-Adapter, however, despite being "N" is considerably slower and inconvenient.

I've searched the forums and found similar problems that relate to mine but after trying done of their solutions with no success I decided to make a new thread. This problem started 2 days ago with the same network I've been using for about 2 months.I'm running vista sp 1. I use google chrome and when I try to open a page it says unable to connect to proxy server. I changed the lan setting s (unchecked the box for using a proxy server for my lan) and now the page says the dns lookup failed.

I have a laptop running XP that will connect to the router wirelessly but not the internet. We have a static/fixed IP that I think may be the problem. Im not sure what the IP address is. I usually bring my laptop to classes to do homework during my free period and it connects through ethernet no problem. Today, randomly it says theres limited connectoin (no internet connection), but there's numerous other people here with laptops who are connected through the ethernet or wireless network, and their having no problems. My desktop PC ran Vista Home Premium and about over a year ago, suddenly developed the dreaded, 'Limited Availability' connection error when I tried to connect via ethernet cable to my D-Link dir 615 router.I have tried all possibilities (detailed in the other forums I have posted this issue in), like all the ipconfig commands in the CMD prompt, rebooted modem and router and pc but still getting this issue. [codde] As you can see - the Belkin wifi dongle connects fine, with an IP address of 192.168.0.101, however, the SiS191 ethernet controller (which has current and up to date drivers) refuses to connect and gives an IP of 169.254.241.0.I have also tried copying the settings from the wifi dongle and manually entering them for the ethernet connection but this also does not work..I don't think its an issue with my router as I also have a laptop, connected via ethernet, which works fine. Also have 2 iPhones, 1 iPod, 1 iPad, Xbox and Wii which ALL connect to the same router (via wifi) without any issues.

We had a lightning strike near the house and it fried my NIC card (or so I thought), also my power strip. I replace them both along with my Ethernet cables. My internet intermittently goes out, every couple of minutes. I keep getting pop ups saying "Local Are Connection has limited to no connectivity" and/or "a network cable is unplugged".

We have netgear router and 3 laptops which were all working on the internet fine but one laptop has had a full recovery done on it and now won't connect it just says there is limited connectivity, what it could be as the net is still working through Ethernet and the other laptops through wireless. Its windows vista.
