Since i know there's a "Repeater Operation Mode" in TL-WR700N Wireless Lan Mini Pocket Router, so what's the difference between TL-WA850RE WiFi Range Extender?I know the maxium speed support is different, but.... what else ?

What would seem to be an ideal way to share a hotel wifi signal with other devices, would be:
Laptop signs into hotel/resort wifi and completes sign-in page. Share wifi signal with TP router via an ethernet cable. TP router acts as hotspot for connection by other devices. This is the method this Apple based article suggests:

I have tried this with Windows 7 using a bridge between the laptop wifi and lan adapters. But I must be doing something wrong.
The other option is to use ICS, but not sure then if the hotel's system would see additional devices. (we are limited to 4 where we stay, but exceed that when family visits!)
I am moving my office from one side of the house to the other which has real spotty wireless coverage. Most likely I will not be able to move the modem or wireless router, so I have to somehow increase the range.I did some research and poking around on forums, but I can't find a clear cut, number 1. What you think would be the best option to pair with the DIR-655.

I have a WR700N set up in bridge mode so as to provide a wifi signal in far end of our home. I used Bridge so we can tell which router we are connecting to. So we have two SSIDs (MySSID1 and MySSID2) Both with secure log-in. This works fine for about a day, and then disconnects. I then have to mess with the WR700N by plugging it in and out, maybe logging into it and changing something. Then it will work again - for a day
I updated the firmware with no change. Main router is a Dlink 615 with IP of 192.168.0.1. connected to cable modem. TP-LINK is set at default of 192.168.0.254 and gets a wireless signal from dlink.In an attempt to improve situation, I now have both units set to channel 11 and with fixed 20Mhz channel width. b/g/n on TP and g/n on dlink.

I have just bought the device. I works fine as a AP out of the box. I want to use it as a repeater of my wireless network which uses a Linksys Simultaneous Dual Band N Router WRT400N
1. To do the setup, I have tried to login at 192.168.0.254 I cannot do this (a) using a wireless connection to a Linksys router which is connected to the cable modem and (b) wired connection to the router which is connected to the cable modem. The attempts get a timeout messaage.
2. The default gateway is 192.168.1.1. The DHCP server has the same address. My computer is using 192.168.1.101.
3. I use McAfee Internet Security software.

My TL-WR700N does its job to provide wired internet to my desktop computer from another wireless router via client mode. However, when it is connected, the other wireless clients connected to the primary router lose their connections. To restore those connections, the WR700N must be powered down and the primary router must be restarted.

And I myself also had problem with low signal in the 2nd floor of my house, so I purchased the wifi repeater (TP Link) to extend the range. I followed the guide given in the box, and everything was set up flawlessly. However, after a few hours of use, all my devices (laptop, tablet, phone) which are in the same room as the repeater decrease the signal again, to the point where it was before I purchased the repeater. Then if I disconnect the wifi and reconnect, the signal is full again. Sometimes I have to unplug the repeater from the wall and replug in order for it to work.

The main router has Mac Filtering enabled and I've entered the 740N's Mac address into the main router. I have switched off 740N's DHCP, changed it's IP etc. I can connect to 740N but 740N is not connecting to the main router. I've tried the same thing at my office where the main router is a 8961ND and I successfully bridged and connected the 740N but it's not working at my home.

This is the 2nd WR702N I have purchased. The first worked as a repeater for a short time and then failed with the fading symptom. I returned it. The second did not work as a repeater even for a short time. The signal is OK for a few seconds and then fades out. I updated the firmware.

The room we work in is able to access the Public Wifi but only half of the room has a good connection. Now the PCs on the other side of the house are connected over a Home-Plug network.Is there a way to connect the DIR-655 to one of the Home-Plug ports on the distant side of the house to "extend" the wireless coverage there for our laptops? Presume this is a different scenario than creating a "bridge", "access point", or "extender" since the router would be connected back via Ethernet cable. I'm using this router for connecting 2 PCs, one lap top and few mobiles.The LAN network is always stable and never loses connection, but I'm having problems with the wireless connection. My lap top runs on wireless, and 3 Android mobiles, an xperia mini pro (problematic), xperia Tipo and Alcatel OT-908F. Almost always when I login to facebook on any of the mobiles, pictures won't show, and also youtube videos thumbnails won't show. On the xperia mini pro after 2-3 minutes of surfing, or doing anything else the connection drops, and then the mobiles can't see the wireless connection. My lap top can see it, but it cannot connect. After restarting the router everything is back to normal.

As you can see it's a simple network, I mostly use the network to share itunes library from PC CENTRAL to the other pcs, play games like counter strike and the like, and of course share the internet connection and copy files from one to another. I have to puntualize that all the computers are in the same room.Last week my mom bought a Toshiba Satellite and I bought a TP-LINK TL-WR741ND so she can work in her room (which is pretty far if I want to make a wire connection), so I installed the WiFi but now this is how my network looks like:> The case is that:
a) I can't access my toshiba from any other computer, but the toshiba can access any other using \192.168.1.# command.
b) The PC Central's iTunes library can be played in toshiba's itunes.
c) I can't make an HomeGroup between the two pcs running w7. Actually the only one pc I want to be working in LAN with the toshiba is PC Central, but as I said earlier, PC Central can't access toshiba.
The settings in the TL-WR740N are: WAN working as Dynamic IP (got IP 192.168.1.46 submask 255.255.255.0 and gateway empty), lan 192.168.0.1, (I can't make it to be 192.168.1.#, I think that's impossible cause it always gives me an error 5008). MAC filtering and that's the only thing I changed from default settings.

I have been using this router for around 8 to 9 months now. Everything was working fine till one week back. Now I am facing problem with my office emails. I cannot get my office emails while on WiFi network. Outlook is not able to connect to my office server and I don't receive my emails. Rest everything works fine. Initially i used to get all the emails while using this WiFi router. When I connect my internet cable directly to my laptop, i am able to receive all the emails in my office outlook inbox.
I am also using my Samsung Galaxy S3 on this WiFi network. And my office outlook is configured in it. I am facing the same problem with my phone as well, it started recently, around one week back, as already informed above.However, when i switch on my mobile internet, all the new emails start coming to my inbox, which means that there is some problem with WiFi network.
What I am supposed to do which will enable me to receive all the office emails while on this routers WiFi network. Its giving me a hard time.

Yesterday I bought this router to extend my wifi signar from my cable router. Now I know that it is possible using the WR841ND as an wifi extender using third-party firmwares but what I like to know is if there is any way to make the router work like that but using the original firmware. I followed a guide that explained how to do it but the only thing I can do is extend the wireless signal without the internet acess.

not getting advertised 150Mbps speed , only getting 72Mbps installed the latest firmware TL-WR740N_V4_130104 and the performance is so bad that i cant even use skype anymore , the main reason to buy this router was to move from 54Mbps to 150Mbps but not sure what is wrong , how to achieve that 150Mbps speed
