2 Internet Connections Under 1 Network?
Feb 10, 2013
i have 30 pcs hooked up under one network. all 30 sharing 1 internet connection. 10 of those are put in a separate room for certain reasons. but those 10 like to download and cause lag to the other 20 pcs. my plan is to keep the 30 pcs under 1 network but ill add another internet connection exclusively for the 10pcs. and the original internet connection exclusively for the 20 pcs. how can i do that? reason why i need all 30 in the same network is cause they all use softwares needed to be connected to each other locally.

Internet connection come from an ethernet port in the wall. Cat 5 then goes to the switch and then to various computers.Desktop #1 has a IP of 10.1.1.133, sub 255.255.255.0, default gateway 10.1.1.200, DNS 10.1.1.4I want to be able to attach a cat5 cable to the LAN port of a Linksys WRT 54G going from the switch. What is the settings I need to select in the Linksys router for this to work.DHCP - Off. I guess the LAN IP of the router must fall in the range of the Main DHCP pool. Could I select anything in the 10.1.1 100's as long as another computer did not have the same IP. The starting IP of the linksys router stays in 192.168.1...... and doesn't looked like it can be changed. Does any Laptop that connects wirelessly to the linksys router need a static IP or can it obtain an IP address through

Two days ago I booted my laptop and found that I'm not able to connect to the internet via LAN. It didn't detect a connection, even though my cable was plugged in. It was able to detect the wifi networks from my neighbors, but that's not an option, i need the LAN. I changed absolutely nothing, nno updates, downloads, ... It just came out of nowhere.I already eliminated a cable problem, the laptop from my roommate was able to connect without a problem. When I plug the cable in mine, the lights on the port flicker, making me believe that it's not a problem with my port either.it's definitely a computer problem, but I'm not sure if it's my computer or my network adapter that's being a PITA.When I go to the Device Manager, the network adapter (broadcom 802.11g) is fine, no red x or yellow exclamation point. i have already tried turning it on and off, and uninstalling and then rebooting, no avail.

1. a LAN with about 10 pcs, a router and a shared internet connection which is connected to the router.
2. One of the PCs is a server, and is accessed from outside. the port 2230 is forwarded to it in the router.
Now the matter is, as the server uses a shared internet connection which is always very slow,I decided to have a dedicated internet connection in the server by adding an extra NIC.but what happens is when the outsiders try to connect to the dedicated internet connection IP address, the port 2230 is not forwared to the server pc.If I dissable LAN in this PC then the outsiders are able to connect.

I'd like to use 2 internet connections at the same time.Assuming there are two internet networks.Network A and Network B (both are either wireless OR one is wireless and one is wired OR both are wireless). So, now I want to use BOTH internet connections simultaneously. However, both connections will still be separate and not combined:If I had to transfer big files, then I could do this on network A.Now, I want to use network B for other "normal" internet use so that the transfer of files in network A gets the maximum speed since there is no interference with anything else.I have to let the computer know somehow that there are two connections used simultaneously. I also have to setup what programs use what connection. E.g., IE uses network a and Firefox uses network b, program "x" also uses network b, etc.I would use two network card/USB Wifi Adapers so that each network card/wifi adapter can connect to one network.

How to make 2 (or more) connections work together and increase your final download and upload. You will need the following items
- A PC or server connected at high speed that is greater or equal to both connections speed (from a data center, You can get some very cheap $30 a month, a VPS can be good enough)
- 2 Internet connections at your home (DSL + cable for example)
- A router that supports dual WAN
- A Magic software that I can write for example
So what is needed is a way to split your data using some technology like the concept of RAID 0 (MAGIC software will be here used) and then use both IPs through the router to send the data to the server which will handle your request (it is possible to have a good usage of VPN here to forward all your traffic to the server without worrying about doing much work here). After that on the server you can reverse your RAID 0 data (using the same MAGIC software) and forward your request to the destination site that you want to visit. Same way the downloading will happen when the server receives a reply from the destination site, it will split the data using same RAID 0 technology (using the MAGIC software) and then send the data to both of your IPs. After that on your side you combine the received data (using the software) and you are done. Of course I do prefer the data splitting to happen using some hardware like a router with MAGIC software as it will be much more effective.

When I turned on my laptop today I noticed there was a new icon in my Network Connections section. It's called Internet Gateway. I haven't downloaded anything (weird or otherwise), I'm still able to connect to the internet and nothing seems to be amiss.

i am having a problem with my desktop right now, just recently i re-installed Windows7, a clean format... but then i suddenly noticed that i cant connect to the internet, no network adapters are detected on the Network Connections, its empty i looked at the Device Manager and saw a yellow warning on realtek rtl8139/810x family fast ethernet nic, i download the driver using my laptop (wireless connection)... and installed that driver on my desktop pc then checked the device manager once again, but it still has a yellow warning.i dont know what to do anymore, and at the last screenshot theres this error message: This device cannot find enough free resources that it can use. (Code 12) If you want to use this device, you will need to disable one of the other devices on this system.i have two lan cards, one at the motherboard(not in use) and the other PCI-E lan card (tp-link ) ...im just wondering if that Realtek i just installed is the lan driver for the motherboard?

The problem started a few days ago, with no apparent catalyst. I'm running Windows XP SP3 on a computer I built myself. The ethernet controller is built into my motherboard, an ASUS P5Q SE PLUS. As far as I can determine, the ethernet controller is a Realtek RTL8168C(P)/8111C(P) PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet NIC. Here's the ipconfig that I ran:
Microsoft Windows XP [Version 5.1.2600]
(C) Copyright 1985-2001 Microsoft Corp.
C:Documents and SettingsOwner>ipconfig /all
[Code]......

I have a desktop PC where the only internet connection is via a 'USB mobilebroadband dongle'.I have connected the PC via ethernet cable to the ethernet port on a d-link wifi router (which isn't connected to the internet).I'd like to be able to connect other non-PC devices (eg my mobile phone) to the router via wifi in order to connect to the internet. To do this, I gather that one possible solution is to bridge the LAN (not connected to internet) and dongle (connected to internet) connections. My first problem is that in 'Network Connections', only my USBdongle connection is shown (see pic) - there is no icon for the LAN/ethernet. In device manager, the "Atheros AR5007EG Wireless NetworkAdapter" and "Realtek PCIe FE Family Controller" are both showing without any ?
Other info:I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium 64 on a HP Pavilion All-in-one MS200 desktop.

I have a NAS connected to my network and all the computers/laptops can use it if connected via the ethernet (all use various operating systems, no static ip's). as soon as I try and use them on the wireless none of them will see the nas, they are all connected to the network and can use the internet, just no connection to the nas.My Router Ip is 192.168.1.1 and my nas IP is 192.168.1.254, I have tried setting the nas to automatically getting an ip from the router aswell but this still doesn't make any difference.

I lost connection to the wireless.I cannot find any wireless networks, which is obviously incorrect. The switch is plugged in. I can plug a cat-5 in and run fine. I can connect to the wireless with other machines fine. Something is up with this computer. I use Virtual Boxes on here and see that there is a "Virtual Box Host Only Network" that I've never noticed.I've disabled this but my wireless is still not finding anything.
