I'm trying to configure an ASA5510 with release 9.1(1) in order to authenticate VPN AnyConnect users through LDAP. In a first step the logs shiw me this kind of error:

ASA 5510 ASA 8.0 ASDM 6.1 I want some remote users to have split-tunnel connection, others not. I used Cisco Document ID 100936 "Allow Split Tunneling for AnyConnect VPN Client on the ASA Configuration...". I created a new Group Policy with split-tunnel enabled. I created a new Connection Profile and assigned to it the new Group Policy. When I authenticate at the AnyConnect client I get a dropdown of the 2 connecton profiles, to choose the one I want. Each of them works, enabling or disabling split-tunnel. But I want to assign a connection profile to the particular user, not give the user a choice. The problem is I'm using LDAP authentication. The Local Users I set up before LDAP are obsolete, assigning them a Group Policy does nothing. I really don't want to give up LDAP and force people back to another local password. But the LDAP authentication to Active Directory just says yes or no, it won't assign a connection profile. At the AnyConnect Connection Profiles page I have set a switch "Allow user to select connection profile, identified by its alias, on the login page. Otherwise, DefaultWebVPNGroup will be the connection profile". If I clear that switch every user will be assigned the same default profile, which does not work.

VPN users are autenticated against the MS-AD through LDAP. For the most part this works well. Occasionally I'm having problems with new users in the AD. If I run a test I keep getting "User was not found". This can happen days after the account was created still. In some cases it never seems to work. The accounts I create exists on the same OU level as all the other accounts that are working.
Actually I have a lab with ACS 5.3 running with 802.1x, but when when the user is successfully authenticated, it's assigned and IP address from the DHCP server, is there a way to assign a static IP address depending of login username??

This DC has LDAP over SSL enabled and I can see the DN and Password for a domain user account.I've created two new DC's, both R2 2008 but when I enable these in the same way it says it could not authenticate, ERROR auth server not responding, AAA group removed.I thought this had something to do with CA being installed on a DC, but it's not running as a service on the DC that was already referred to.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm having trouble getting things working on a pair of ASA5510's using Cisco Secure ACS v5.1. We were previously using a much older version of ACS to these (and a lot of other) devices which worked OK for remote access for read/write use. Am in the process of migrating to the new ACS software and have got it working OK to everything (many Cisco switches and other IOS devices) except these ASA5510s.
I can get TACACS authenticating fine and am able to log on and go into enable mode. Any subsequent commands are then met with 'command authorization failure', including 'show run', 'conf t' and even 'exit'!
My ASA5510 config has not changed, other than to define the new AAA server, which leads me to think its something to do with how I have the ACS user profile set up. I have configured the ACS5.1 device administration Shell Profile to have the maximum privilege level (15) and the command set I'm using has the box checked 'permit any command that is not in the table below'.
We've just replaced our Fortinet Firewalls with 5525's but are struggling to get a feature working that worked great on the Fortinet firewall.All our users use a proxy for internet access that's configured in IE but from time to time some users need to remove this proxy and go directly out to the internet, with the Fortinet devices we created a rule right at the bottom of the inside access out rule that had it authenticate users via TACACS which worked a treat and could be used from PC or laptop. We want to do a similar thing on the 5525 and I thought the Authenticated user would give me this access but I don't seem to be able to get it to work. I've got the AD side of it working fine the ASA can pull user and groups from AD but I'm struggling to get this working for a user.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am having trouble accessing shares via client SSL VPN. I have an ASA 5505 running 8.4(4)1 The share is on on Ubuntu server 11.04 running Samba 3.5.8
This may not be strictly a Cisco issue and it seems to be an interoperbility issue between ASA and Samba. Or simply the smb.conf configuration.
I suspect the issue is down to the interpretation of Lanman on the ASA as I know the usernames and passwords work correctly when accesing the shares from other platforms (Windows Vista and Ubuntu desktop 12.04)
When monitoring the Samba logs I get the following errors: (amongst others)
ntlm_password_check: NT MD4 password check failed for user testuser
Storing account testuser with RID 1000
check_ntlm_password: sam authentication for user [testuser] FAILED with error

We have a /29 subnet setup and AFAIK i must use the outside interface address for Anyconnect. However i already have an https service PAT forward on this address. So, can i setup Anyconnect to listen on eg. the second ip in my public subnet?

When using the packet tracer i see my packets dropped on WEBVPN-SVC. I am not using NAT anywhere and i can normally ping the CUCM from the client , i can open the web page of cucm but jabber says connection error.

I'm configuring an asa device for web access: SSL VPN service. I can have a user authenticate for web session with their active directory domain credentials (username and password). Once their web session has started, moving to the "browse networks" feature for a share viewing requires them to authenticate once again - "authenitcation required". I'd like to configure the device so that authenticating to the windows file share will be attempted using the previously entered credentials.

We have a customer which is using ISE with 802.1X in order to authenticate computers. All the computers have their own certificate and most of them can be authenticated fine! The issue is that some computers cannot be authenticated.The port configuration the authenticator (Cisco WS-C4510R+E IOS 151-1) are configured exactly the same: [code]
But for some reason some PC cannot be authenticated. A wireshark capture on the computer not working shows that the computer receives a EAP Request Identity and also send a Response Identity to the switch but then nothing happens more: So the process is stucked in the EAP-Response/identity. I have a new Cisco Secure ACS 5.2 on a VM. We want to use it to for administrative access to our Cisco equipment with TACACS+. I am trying to map user permissions to different groups of devices based on active directory group membership, however it is not working.
I am using an LDAP (configured for secure authentication) external identity store. On the directory organization tab, I have confirmed the accuracy of the subject and group search base and the test configuration button shows that it's finding > 100 users and >100 groups.
On the directory groups page I have entered the groups according to the required format. cn=groupname1,ou=groups,dc=abc,dc=com
I have a rule based result selection under group mapping. I have two rules in the format below.

I have the default group set to a identity group named other. My problem is, no matter what user attempts to authenticate, the Default rule is applied, and the user is put into the other identity group.This occurs when I log on as a groupname1 user, groupname2 user, or as user that is not a member of either of those groups. LDAP authentication works and the user is able to logon to the device.
when a user login into the Cisco ASA Firewall (v8.3.2) via WebVPN, and accesses the applications. This works fine. In fact, the user can also create bookmarks etc.The problem here is when this user signs off and another user signs in via WebVPN, on the same PC or even on a different PC, this new user can view the screen viewed by the previous user. Basically, even though certain users can view only certain applications, but in my case, not all the time, but most of the time, users logging into via WebVPN can view someone else's profile application.
I suspect this is due to cookies or cache but I'm not sure myself. What can I do to resolve the problem.Currently, this issue is being resolved via a lousy manner i.e. we go to the SMB location and we clear the .CSP file manually, which is not the correct way to address this issue.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI tried to authenticate and authorized Nokia/checkpoint Nortel/AD3 and Nortel 5510 platform using an 4.1 for windows ACS. the ACCESS-REQUEST is well processed bi the radius server wich send ACCESS-ACCEPT to the AAA Client (ie NORTEL or NOKIA), but i'have got privilege access denied on the Client side. RADIUS IETF Dictionnary is used for every device. all others Cisco Devices authenticate and are well authorized.

I am using Cisco ACS5.3 to authenticate users (using radius) for a cisco ASA firewall for both WebVPN and IPSEC client connections. I have been able to do this successfully. However I need to be able to deply Cisco vendor specific attributes (VSA) for both IPSEC and WebVPN sessions using authorisation profiles. Ideally I don't want to have to combine the attributes required for both services in the same authorisation profile, as I will have to produce alot of different profiles for the different combinations.
The only way I can see that you could possibilly do this is by having service selection rules that can differentiate between WebVPN and IPSEC Radius authentication requests. I have experimented inbound VSA's without success. Is this possible?
We are running ACS 5.2 patch 6 and want to restrict access for users to be able to add devices to the system.For example, admin person in site A can only add devices into the site A group and cannot see/access other sites groups.
