Actually I have a lab with ACS 5.3 running with 802.1x, but when when the user is successfully authenticated, it's assigned and IP address from the DHCP server, is there a way to assign a static IP address depending of login username??

I'm trying to configure an ASA5510 with release 9.1(1) in order to authenticate VPN AnyConnect users through LDAP. In a first step the logs shiw me this kind of error:

I want to assign static IPs to users that login to IPSec VPN using Group Authentication in ASA 8.2. The authentication through a Windows RADIUS server. Right now, they are connecting just fine and pulling an IP from the pool I have configured in the IPSec policy.
What would the best way to assign static IPs through VPN?
Is there any way (in ACS 5.1) to assign personal access list to each user instead of assigning it to Authorization profile and Authorization profile to user?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have what I feel is sort of a strange issue. When I have systems on my home network get their IP from DHCP, they can get to the internet just fine. But it seems that when I assign a static address, they have local network access only, and will not get a connection to the internet. My windows 2008 server is the big problem with this one.

I am trying to configure ASA to assign same static ip address to certain user(User1) every time when he connect to network via AnyConnect client. We have Windows AD and use LDAP AAA server for authentication of VPN Remote Access users. I found in document "Cisco ASA 5500 Series Configuration Guide using the CLI, 8.2" in section "Configuring an External Server for Security Appliance User Authorization" explanation and configured ASA and User Properties in AD on exectly same way:First, I assigned static ip address in properties menu(dial in section) of User1 in Active Directory. Then I created ldap attribute map where I mapped msRADIUSFrameIPAddressattribute to IETF-Radius-Framed-IP-Address attribute. At the end I applied this ldap attribute map to AAA server group LDAP.
Although I set this up, whenever I connect using User1 credentials from AD I still get ip address from vpn pool instead static ip address that I configured. In output of debug ldap 255 command I found line "msRADIUSFramedIPAddress: value = -1062718956" but not any line that prove mapping above mentioned attributes.It seems like mapping is not working.All AnyConnect users get parameters from defined internal group policy on ASA,including addresses form pool,dns server etc. I want that User1 get static ip address and inherit all other parameters from group policy.
how I can assign a static IP to a user in ACS 5.2. I am able to do it in ACS 4.2, but I don't see the same options under 5.2. General idea is that users authenticate from our VPN appliance via RADIUS, and upon authentication, their static IP is passed back to the VPN device. I can attach an arbitrary field to my local users by going to System Administration -> Configuration -> Dictionaries -> Identity -> Internal Users, but how do I get that IP address passed back when the user is authenticated via Radius?

View 2 Replies View RelatedWe've just replaced our Fortinet Firewalls with 5525's but are struggling to get a feature working that worked great on the Fortinet firewall.All our users use a proxy for internet access that's configured in IE but from time to time some users need to remove this proxy and go directly out to the internet, with the Fortinet devices we created a rule right at the bottom of the inside access out rule that had it authenticate users via TACACS which worked a treat and could be used from PC or laptop. We want to do a similar thing on the 5525 and I thought the Authenticated user would give me this access but I don't seem to be able to get it to work. I've got the AD side of it working fine the ASA can pull user and groups from AD but I'm struggling to get this working for a user.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm running an ISE 1.1.1 and i need to authenticate guest users.The goal is apply different Authorization profile to the same guest user based on the thevice he use to connect to the guest wlan.
I.E.:
if guest user "user1" connect to the guest WLAN using a windows laptop, than apply "Guest" authorization profile
if guest user "user1" connect to the guest WLAN using an Apple iPad, than apply "Mobile" authorization profile
I've tried to deployed the following 2 authorization policy:
1)if "Apple-Device" and "IdentityGroup:Name EQUALS Guest" then "Mobile"
2)if "Guest" then "Guest"
but the first rule never match and even if I use and iPad to access the guest network the "Guest" authorization Profile is matched
I've verified that the iPad is correctly recognized as an Apple-Device changing for test purposes the rule table in
1)if "Apple-Device" then "Mobile"
2)if "Guest" then "Guest"
A short background. Our corporate SSID is being migrated from using PEAPv0 to EAP-TLS. This restricts access only to company notebooks. Additionally we have barcode scanners which are used to inventory assets. Those devices are not able to use EAP-TLS as they cannot be integrated in the domain and being unable to do certificate based authentication.
As a workaround we planned to use another SSID with access to the same network but using PEAPv0 as authentication method, basically the same SSID but with a different name. As this naturally allows anyone to access the corporate network with a valid username/password I now wanted to add another step into the authentication process - the MAC of the device. I know I can do the filtering at the WLAN controller, but as it has a limited database as well as the fact that it is cumbersome to maintain the MAC list on all the controllers I thought I can do it over our ACS system.
I am now trying to accomplish the following: The user gets authenticated via the internal user store, which is succesful. Now I want to authorize the user via the MAC address, which is stored in the internal host store of the ACS, if access is granted or not.
For this I created the following policy:
Service Selection Policy -- (Rule based result selection)
-- (NDG:Device Type in All Device Types:Wireless And RADIUS-IETF:Called-Station-ID contains <SSID>) | Result: PEAP access
-- Default | Result: DenyAccess

When I then try to access the wireless network I won't get authenticated. The error I get, when I look into the logs is: 15039 Selected Authorization Profile is DenyAccess

ASA 5510 ASA 8.0 ASDM 6.1 I want some remote users to have split-tunnel connection, others not. I used Cisco Document ID 100936 "Allow Split Tunneling for AnyConnect VPN Client on the ASA Configuration...". I created a new Group Policy with split-tunnel enabled. I created a new Connection Profile and assigned to it the new Group Policy. When I authenticate at the AnyConnect client I get a dropdown of the 2 connecton profiles, to choose the one I want. Each of them works, enabling or disabling split-tunnel. But I want to assign a connection profile to the particular user, not give the user a choice. The problem is I'm using LDAP authentication. The Local Users I set up before LDAP are obsolete, assigning them a Group Policy does nothing. I really don't want to give up LDAP and force people back to another local password. But the LDAP authentication to Active Directory just says yes or no, it won't assign a connection profile. At the AnyConnect Connection Profiles page I have set a switch "Allow user to select connection profile, identified by its alias, on the login page. Otherwise, DefaultWebVPNGroup will be the connection profile". If I clear that switch every user will be assigned the same default profile, which does not work.

I prefer to use the internal identity store over AD or LDAP for MAB authentication for 802.1X project. I would like to know what is the impact on the ACS? CPU/MEM? What is the impact on the user authentication? delay, timeout, etc.

After the migration the ACS is not authenticating the users . Now i have made a server with 2003 and made the site working . I need a solution to make it work using 2008 server is there any compatiblity issue between ACS 4.0 and 2008 server .
We have a customer which is using ISE with 802.1X in order to authenticate computers. All the computers have their own certificate and most of them can be authenticated fine! The issue is that some computers cannot be authenticated.The port configuration the authenticator (Cisco WS-C4510R+E IOS 151-1) are configured exactly the same: [code]
But for some reason some PC cannot be authenticated. A wireshark capture on the computer not working shows that the computer receives a EAP Request Identity and also send a Response Identity to the switch but then nothing happens more: So the process is stucked in the EAP-Response/identity. I attach a debug capture on the switch for one of the computer which cannot be authenticated.
I have 2 ASA 5520 (v. 8.21) in a active/standby fail over configuration.
VPN users are autenticated against the MS-AD through LDAP. For the most part this works well. Occasionally I'm having problems with new users in the AD. If I run a test I keep getting "User was not found". This can happen days after the account was created still. In some cases it never seems to work. The accounts I create exists on the same OU level as all the other accounts that are working.
I have an ASA 5510 with IOS 8.4. I want that only authenticated active directory users can pass the firewall.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI tried to authenticate and authorized Nokia/checkpoint Nortel/AD3 and Nortel 5510 platform using an 4.1 for windows ACS. the ACCESS-REQUEST is well processed bi the radius server wich send ACCESS-ACCEPT to the AAA Client (ie NORTEL or NOKIA), but i'have got privilege access denied on the Client side. RADIUS IETF Dictionnary is used for every device. all others Cisco Devices authenticate and are well authorized.

However I can't figure it out in this router as when I revoked the current address it wouldn't let me add a new one, and when I went to add one at .202 to be outside of dhcp range it doesn't let you and says to enter a number within the range, .100-.199
