Cisco AAA/Identity/Nac :: ISE 1.1 Differentiate Guest Access Depending On Device

Sep 21, 2012

I'm running an ISE 1.1.1 and i need to authenticate guest users. The goal is apply different Authorization profile to the same guest user based on the thevice he use to connect to the guest wlan.

I.E.:
if guest user "user1" connect to the guest WLAN using a windows laptop, than apply "Guest" authorization profile
if guest user "user1" connect to the guest WLAN using an Apple iPad, than apply "Mobile" authorization profile

I've tried to deployed the following 2 authorization policy:
1)if "Apple-Device" and "IdentityGroup:Name EQUALS Guest" then "Mobile"
2)if "Guest" then "Guest"

but the first rule never match and even if I use and iPad to access the guest network the "Guest" authorization Profile is matched

I've verified that the iPad is correctly recognized as an Apple-Device changing for test purposes the rule table in
1)if "Apple-Device" then "Mobile"
2)if "Guest" then "Guest"

DLink Wireless Asks For Different Key Depending On Device?

Mar 7, 2012

My dlink wireless has a WEP consisting of 40 numbers (or 4 lines of 10 numbers)When I connected a PC to the dlink it asked for the key and I entered all 40 numbers and it connected without problemI also had to enter all 40 digits for my Wii to connect to it.But when I connected my PS3 I only entered in the first 10 digits and it connectedI have connected various devices to the dLink and some ask for the first 10, some 20 and some require all 40.I have just bought a new phone Samsung Galaxy Ace and trying to connect to the dlink is impossible. I have entered all 40 digits and it wont connect, it just says "authenticating" then "disabled". I have tried the first 10, then 20, then 30 and it still says disabled. The problem then is I don't know whether the phone is faulty or the dlink just wants a particular line of my key.

Cisco AAA/Identity/Nac :: WLC 7.2 ISE To Do Wireless Network Guest Access Services

Dec 26, 2011

I need to know how WLC can support ISE guest management in wireless mode. Tested and confirm by Cisco SE, Knowing that WLC currently does not support dynamic VLAN authorization for central web authentication. This limitation will be addressed in WLC 7.2 when MAB and CWA support is added to the code. On the other hand, DACLs on the other hand works and we can use that to restrict access of this guest traffic. Can ISE support on WLC LWA guest access provision? This able to view guest user login and show at ISE monitoring.

Cisco AAA/Identity/Nac :: ACS (4.2) Read Only Device Access?

Sep 30, 2010

We are using ACS ver 4.2 and trying to setup users with limited access to our switchs and routers.  Here is what we did:

1) Created a user in ACS

2) Create Shell command Autorization Set - ReadOnly
Unmatched Commands - Deny
Commands Added
show
exit

* this should limit the user to the show and exit command only (correct)?

3) Created a group - HelpDesk with the following TACACS+ Settings

Shell (exec) is checked
Priviledge level is check with 15 as the assigned level
Assign a Shell Command Authorization Set for any network device - selected
ReadOnly - shell command autorization set seleted

When the user logs on to the router/switch it appears that he has full access.  He can enter the enable command, config terminal command, etc.  All we want him to be able to do is to issue the show command.

Cisco AAA/Identity/Nac :: ACS 5.2 Device And Network Access

Oct 15, 2012

I have a question reguarding the Cisco Secure ACS 5.2 and network access vs device admin access. We have our switches, routers, and firewall configured to use TACACS+.  We also have configured our Wireless LAN Controller to use RADIUS for allowing for 802.1X authentication to the wireless network.  We are using Active Directory for the backend user database and have assigned the users to different groups in AD.  We have a Network Admins group to access the network devices and a Wireless Users to access the WLAN.  The problem that we have is that everyone in the Wireless Users group can access the devices and run full commands on them. We want to limit the Wireless Users group from being able to do this.  Is there a policy or config change that we will need to make for this?

Cisco AAA/Identity/Nac :: ACS 5.1 - How To Configure Rules To Allow 802.1x And Device Access

Aug 21, 2011

I am new to ACS 5.1.I need to configure the ACS to act as the 802.1x authentication Server, as well as, act as the Radius Server for the authentication and authorization process when I access the switch.

I had created Two rules (under the Access policy) to cater for the two scenario, it will always "stuck" at the 1st rule. For e.g. Rule-1 is meant for the 802.1x, Rule 2 is meant for the AAA process. When I tested with 802.1x, it worked perfectly. But when I tested to login to the switch, it always failed. Based on the log, Rule1 is not able to fulfill my requirement (of course it can't). I thought the rules check process will proceed with Rule-2, but apparently it did not.

Cisco VPN :: ASA5520 - Differentiate Between Machines Connecting Via AnyConnect

I need to find a way to determine whether an AnyConnect client is connecting from a company-owned/maintained/patched laptop or some other device.  I would like to give full network access to the company laptops while continuing to restrict access to the home machines.  So far, the only idea I have is to use DHCP and associate the MAC addresses of the company laptops with addresses is a privielged subnet range.

Cisco Wireless :: 5508WLC Save Guest Accounts On Device In WCS

Jan 7, 2013

Currently the guest wireless users are maintained by WCS 7.0.172.0. I'm having a project to set up another 5508WLC in one location to replace the WLC in use in different location. My concern is regarding the guest user accounts. Can I use the feature of "Save Guest Accounts on Device" in WCS to save all the guest accounts on another WLC? I tried this feature and I got the message of "Successfully saved Guest users to the following respective controller(s) where they were applied". I don't know if it is because there is currently only one WLC in the WCS or the account can only be saved on the original controller where it was created.

Cisco AAA/Identity/Nac :: ISE And Guest Portal With WCS 7.2

Jul 24, 2012

WLC - 7.2.110.0
ISE - 1.1.1

I'm new to ISE. I want to set up a very basic method for BYOD users to access our wireless network. I've set up an SSID for external Web Auth, where users get redirected to the ISE Guest Portal: [URL]

At that screen, users can enter their Active Directory credentials and login. Although the authentcation shows as successful under Operations -> Authentications, the user is redirected to the device registration page. On that page they see the message "We are unable to determine access privileges in order to access the network. Please contact your administrator." Their device MAC is listed, and they can enter a description but the "Register" button is greyed out.

I'm getting overwhelmed with the amount of documentation available as well as the new terminology. I'm familiar with using Windows RADIUS servers, but ISE is very foreign to me now. Is there any documentation to understand how access requests are processed?

Cisco AAA/Identity/Nac :: ACS 5.2 - Guest NAC Radius Authentication

Oct 31, 2010

For some reason, i can't get the lobby "sponsors" to authentication to the Guest NAC server (2.0.2) using ACS 5.2 via Radius.I was able to figure out how to get the Guest NAC Radius Authentication for "Administrator" to work by adding custom Radius value IEFT-6 under...

Policy ElementsAuthorization & permissionsNetwork AccessAuthorization Profiles
I added a policy & under the Radius Attributes Tab... I manually entered an Attribute that looks like the following:
Dictionary Type: = RADIUS-IETFRadius Attribute: = Service-TypeAttribute Type: = EnumerationAttribute Value: = StaticValue = "Administrative"
I then created an Access Policy... I looked for a specific AD group - Result = "Name of Custom Policy Above"...

All of that is working just fine.... the NAC Guest Docs tell you the Radius server must return a value of IETF-6...

When it gets into the Sponsor section, it doesn't tell you the value your Radius server should return... so just for grins, instead of "Name of Custom Policy Above", I tried "Permit Access"... i tried the "Name of Custom Policy above"...  Not sure what else to try to get this to work...

here is a like to the document i'm following: URL

Page 68 refers to the "Configuring Sponsor Authentication" for Radius.. it just tell you to add the Radius Server & change the authentication order.

Cisco AAA/Identity/Nac :: 5508 - NGS Guest Server Authentication Error

Apr 29, 2011

I installed NGS 2.0.2 for wireless guest user management and authentication. I implement webauth via webauth page on wlc deployed. One Branch with a WLC5508 version 7.0 wireless anchor controller is working on the NGS.But now I integrate next branch with WLC4402 version 6.0.188 and the authentication of users at the new branch gets an error, wrong user/password.

I double checked configuration and user/password but I can't find any configuration error. Also stopping and starting of radius service and reboot of NGS still does not work. I tried to debug the radius via web interface and watched for the loggfile and there is still a reject.I also tried the freeradius command radiusd -X but I got an error when starting the radiusd -X.

1.) How can I figure out, if I will get the correct password from my WLC ? Are there any debug options to see more ? e.g. some cli commands, radiustest utilities or how to get the received password from the chap challenge of the debug ?

2.) I have appended a part from my radius loggfile. How can I find the detailed error in the radius log file? Is it correct that the password in the debug file is empty ? raiuds logg line "[radius-user-auth] expand: %{User-Password} -> "

Cisco AAA/Identity/Nac :: 2960S Switch-port Stuck In Guest Mode?

Mar 18, 2012

I am using 802.1x authentication with multi-domain ports; Phone and PC connected to phone. The phones are Nortel (Avaya) and the PCs are Dell/HP Laptops. All are configured for Certificate authentication and this works well. However we sometimes get some ports stuck in Guest mode. when a non certificated laptop connects to a phone port and fails authentication, the data port is placed in the Guest VLAN. However when the laptop disconnects the port isn't reset and remains in the guest state. When a subsequent good laptop connects and attempts to authenticate the switch ignores this and leaves the data port in the Guest VLAN. he switch is a 2960S with Version 12.2(58)SE2 IOS.

The port is configured as follows:

!
interface GigabitEthernet1/0/15
description DANS Port
switchport access vlan 1807
switchport mode access
switchport voice vlan 1855
priority-queue out

[code]....

I placed the AAA, dot1x, eap and auth debug on for all events and then connected a good laptop, the only debug message I got were as follows:

Mar 19 16:17:01.391 GMT: AUTH-EVENT (Gi1/0/15) dot1x_switch_is_restrictive_vlan_open_auth:Multi-Host with Guest Vlan/Auth Fail Vlan or open aut
Mar 19 16:17:01.653 GMT: AUTH-EVENT (Gi1/0/15) dot1x_switch_is_restrictive_vlan_open_auth:Multi-Host with Guest Vlan/Auth Fail Vlan or open aut
Mar 19 16:17:02.654 GMT: AUTH-EVENT (Gi1/0/15) dot1x_switch_is_restrictive_vlan_open_auth:Multi-Host with Guest Vlan/Auth Fail Vlan or open aut

[code]....

I would have expected the auth function to have reacted to the EAP packets sent by the good client when it connected and performed eap authentication but it didn't, all it did was say the ports in Guest mode and left the laptop in this VLAN.
