Managed to guest LWA working with ISE for wireless guest portal access? I have Cisco 4400 WLCs running latest 7.0 code and ISE 1.1.2.All guest portal examples seem to be CWA which only works on 7.2 code.Am I without hope getting this working on 7.0 code?

I'm new to ISE. I want to set up a very basic method for BYOD users to access our wireless network. I've set up an SSID for external Web Auth, where users get redirected to the ISE Guest Portal: [URL]
At that screen, users can enter their Active Directory credentials and login. Although the authentcation shows as successful under Operations -> Authentications, the user is redirected to the device registration page. On that page they see the message "We are unable to determine access privileges in order to access the network. Please contact your administrator." Their device MAC is listed, and they can enter a description but the "Register" button is greyed out.
I'm getting overwhelmed with the amount of documentation available as well as the new terminology. I'm familiar with using Windows RADIUS servers, but ISE is very foreign to me now. Is there any documentation to understand how access requests are processed?
We have insatalled 5 ise 3315 boxes IOS 1.0.4 in our network where in two of them are admin node , two of policy services and one is mnt node. We are using guest sponsor portal for wirless guest user where in we have integrated WLC 5508 with ise and using weblogin for guest users.
We have created open ssid in wlc and using external redirected url of ise for guest login page. But when we create any guest user in sponsor login for guest user we faced following issue
1) When guest user gets conected to wirless and login in to guest portal with credential after putting credential then its again redirect to same login page wihout successful login prompt.
Can we pompt successful login after guest login to guest portal or redirect to any other link like google.com so guest user will gets to know he is able to access internet now
2) We have creted time profile 8hours first login for guest user. When guest user gets connected while putting credential in to guest portal. But we face issue after approximately every 20 mins guest gets disconnected from internet and guest again gets login page of guest portal and if we put same credential then its working but after approx 20 min interval user get disconnected from internet.
I'm setting a Wireless Guest with a WLC 5508 (7.3) and ISE (1.1.2) -- (no anchor).It appears to work (still some adjustments are required), but I found when the guest user log in, it receives the successful login screen and inmediately the guest portal again. If another browser window or tab is open, the user can browse properly.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have set up a Guest Portal with WLC 5508 7.4 and ISE 1.1.1 ;everything is OK, except one thing: the Guest VLAN, associated to the Guest SSID is, actually, a DMZ behind my customer firewall and the DHCP parameters provided to the wireless Guest equipement connected on this VLAN include the public ISP DNS servers addresses, not the customer internal DNS serveurs addresses;this seems OK since the idea of this Guest SSID is to give a pure Internet access to the Guests, and no connection at all towards the customer internal servers;
the problem is that, when the wireless guest receives the redictect URL from ISE (URL to access the ISE Guest Portal), this URL is based on the ISE DNS name, not on its IP address; so, the PC can't resolve this internal DNS name by using the ISP DNS servers addresses provided by the DHCP server, and, so, it can't access the Guest Portal at all ;Apart from changing those DNS values in the DHCP server (the customer does not accept this solution), how could we solve this problem ?I have tried to code manually , in the CWA Authorization profile, the equivalent URL redirect via the CISCO av-pair as follows : [code] but, it does not work, since the sessionIdValue variable is not replaced by its real value when sent to the wireless client

They want to have the users put in their email address to authenticate and they want to capture the email addresses to use for marketing campaigns. I know you can setup the login page to have them put in their email address, but i can't remember if you have to use an external web server to actually capture and record the email addresses.

I am looking at implementing wired guest authentication with a splash page for username and password access. I have followed the documents and suggestions about how to configure it. I created a layer 2 vlan (700) and then created a VLAN (151) that wired guests will get an IP address from. I then configured a WLAN with the ingress interface being VLAN 700 and the egress interface being VLAN 151.
All of my controllers are running code 7.0.116.0. When I go to do a test scenario with a wired client, I have the switchport setup for VLAN 151, which they get an IP address from, but when they try to go to the Internet, they don't get the splash page. Why I am not getting a splash page or even if this scenario is possible?
I have my wlc 4400 configured with a secure wlan and a guest wlan. The guest wlan is switching traffic at the wlc to a separate guest-wlan interface. When a guest is associated and authenticated, they can access the management console of the wlc which is in a different subnet. As I understand, the wlc does not route traffic. So how could this be happening? the guest subnet and the subnet the wlc management interface is in are different and separated by a firewall. I have also tried applying access lists in the wlc to each interface without luck. How can i stop the wlc from providing access to guest wlan users?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI am setting up a new Guest network with a captive portal and it seems to all work fine except when Apple devices go to sleep. When they come back on it isn't just a case of logging in again as it just indicates to the client that it is still connected and won't present the login page again. The Controller will show the client as auth required. So far the quickest way has been for me to delete the network on iPads and re-enter my settings or create a new profile on a Macbook and join again. I have also had some success when doing a manual DHCP refresh on my Macbook which sometimes seems to kick the Controller into action so it presents the login page to the client again. Whether it is related to the timers on the Controller (5508 running code 7.0.235.3) or - as I just read in another post by Leo - the 20 minute timeout that all Apple devices have built in to conserve battery life
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy E4200 settings show both the 5.8GHZ and 2.4GHZ channels to be active, with SSID's displayed. However, when I look for available networks via my laptop(s)/tablets, etc, only the 2.8GHZ channel is visible. I've tried changing various settings and even updated the firmware but nothing has changed.
In addition my "guest" portal displays as not being password protected, even though it is setup for password protection in the E4200 menu.I've rebooted the router several times, but nothing has changed. The 5.8GHZ channel is not visible.The router is also performing frequent random disconnects, but that appears to be a separate issue, based on other posts.
We’d like to extend our current Guest LAN from a 4400 WLC in our data center to a 2100 WLC located at a remote facility. However, we cannot get the foreign controller to pass traffic to the anchor controller – or so it seems. The catch is that we’re not actually trying to extend the SSID itself to provide wireless access, but instead flub it so that we can provide local wired access tunneled to the Guest LAN on the anchor WLC. I’m not entirely sure if this is possible, because I’ve read that before the EoIP tunnel will come up a guest client must associate to the foreign WLC.
We’ve followed the instructions we could find that go over setting up this type of scenario, but unfortunately they only cover setting up back-to-back 4400 controllers and as such, some functions described (notably being able to create a Guest LAN) are not possible on the 2100. We haven’t been able to find a clear and concise guide on the scenario we want to set up.
Here’s some detail:
Mobility group is up/up between both WLCs. Both WLCs are running 6.0.x code.
Anchor WLC – 3750G-24WS-S25 (a 4400 WLC w/ integrated 3750G-24)
Guest LAN WLAN “wired-guest” created; Ingress is “none” and Egress is our existing “dirtnet” – i.e. outside access. The “dirtnet” interface is *not* a Guest LAN interface. Mobility anchor is set as local.
Remote WLC – WLC2106
WLAN “wired-guest” created; Interface is “wired” w/ an IP address on the same subnet as the anchor “dirtnet” and associated with port 2. Mobility anchor is set to the anchor WLC and is up/up. I have a laptop connected to port 2 with a statically assigned IP address on the same subnet as “dirtnet.” I am able to ping the local port 2 address, but I can’t ping across the tunnel to the anchor WLC. I also cannot ping the anchor WLC "dirtnet" interface from the foreign WLC’s Ping tool.
We have a Cisco 4400 series wireless controller deployed as a Guest Anchor in a private DMZ. We have 13 foreign controllers anchored to this for Guest Wireless. We recently anchored 17 additional controllers to this Anchor controller. Since we have done that, periodically on just 3 of the foreign controllers, the control path shows down on the mobility peer, then comes back up. We have had this issue in the past, but it resolved itself. However, now we are seeing this issue again. Are we reaching a limit on EoIP tunnels? I have read that there is a max of 71, and that is per controller, not SSID. We do have a firewall in the middle but all necessary ports are open.
We have had this issue for quite sometime, it just does not happen frequently. Since we have added the additional controllers, it is now happpening very often, but only with 3 controllers. There is not much in common with these 3 controllers. 2 are 4400 series, and 1 is a 5508. All 3 are local on a campus LAN, different networks. Could it have anything to do with memory or utilization?
Regarding our international subsidiaries there are many names that contain the character "-" (i.e. Pierre-Pascal)When trying to create an new Guest Account the ISE refuses it because of an invalid character in the "First Name" field.In other formular fields i.e. Email Address - the character "-" is allowed.Is it possible to change the rule which checks the fields for illegal characters? (Is it a Bug?)
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a Cisco WLC talking to a ACS 4400 version 5.1 which in turn talks to Active Directory.Ive been trying to get 802.1x for wireless clients going, I have a cert on the ACS from verisign on the box but when users try to sign in they get 12309 PEAP handshake failed in the ACS RADIUS log.The cert was exported and placed directly on the testing laptop and at one point it all worked. I stepped away from it for 2 weeks to get a new internal CA built on a windows box, now coming back to it with the intent of issuing new certs to the ACS from the internal CA and thought I would check it to make sure all was good, but its not.Google doesn’t return happy results for “12309 PEAP handshake failed”, I opened a TAC case on it and they took my cert to their lab. Haven’t heard back.

I want to make MAB with known Devices (FAT-Clients, Notebooks, Desktops, Printers) and unknown Devices.I will set the VLAN dynamicly with dot1x per ACS. For known FAT-Clients, Notebooks etc. it's running well.But for Printers it's more difficult because I have about 500 Printers in several IP-Segments on several Switches and I will not make to much Rules in ACS for Grouping, Mapping and Authority-Rules.My Idea is to set the Guest-VLAN on every Switch, read them with ACS and use this for my Printers.The Problem is that Guest-VLAN is set on more than 100 Switch and this guest-vlan is different on any Switch.Can I read the Geust-VLAN Value so that I can set this via ACS ?

I added a policy & under the Radius Attributes Tab... I manually entered an Attribute that looks like the following:

I then created an Access Policy... I looked for a specific AD group - Result = "Name of Custom Policy Above"...
All of that is working just fine.... the NAC Guest Docs tell you the Radius server must return a value of IETF-6...
When it gets into the Sponsor section, it doesn't tell you the value your Radius server should return... so just for grins, instead of "Name of Custom Policy Above", I tried "Permit Access"... i tried the "Name of Custom Policy above"... Not sure what else to try to get this to work...

However I'm stuck trying to allow clients to authenticate against the router's web-page i.e. Web-Authenticaiton, using TACACS+ between the router and the ACS5.3.
I've looked into this and I need to configure a custom-attribute of "service" with type Outbound and link this to an Authorization policy.
I need to know how WLC can support ISE guest management in wireless mode. Tested and confirm by Cisco SE, Knowing that WLC currently does not support dynamic VLAN authorization for central web authentication. This limitation will be addressed in WLC 7.2 when MAB and CWA support is added to the code. On the other hand, DACLs on the other hand works and we can use that to restrict access of this guest traffic.Can ISE support on WLC LWA guest access provision? This able to view guest user login and show at ISE monitoring.

I.E.:
if guest user "user1" connect to the guest WLAN using a windows laptop, than apply "Guest" authorization profile
if guest user "user1" connect to the guest WLAN using an Apple iPad, than apply "Mobile" authorization profile
I've tried to deployed the following 2 authorization policy:
1)if "Apple-Device" and "IdentityGroup:Name EQUALS Guest" then "Mobile"
2)if "Guest" then "Guest"
but the first rule never match and even if I use and iPad to access the guest network the "Guest" authorization Profile is matched
I've verified that the iPad is correctly recognized as an Apple-Device changing for test purposes the rule table in

I installed NGS 2.0.2 for wireless guest user management and authentication. I implement webauth via webauth page on wlc deployed.One Branch with a WLC5508 version 7.0 wireless anchor controller is working on the NGS.But now I integrate next branch with WLC4402 version 6.0.188 and the authentication of users at the new branch gets an error, wrong user/password.
I double checked configuration and user/password but I can't find any configuration error. Also stopping and starting of radius service and reboot of NGS still does not work. I tried to debug the radius via web interface and watched for the loggfile and there is still a reject.I also tried the freeradius command radiusd -X but I got an error when starting the radiusd -X.
1.) How can I figure out, if I will get the correct password from my WLC ? Are there any debug options to see more ? e.g. some cli commands, radiustest utilities or how to get the received password from the chap challenge of the debug ?
2.) I have appended a part from my radius loggfile. How can I find the detailed error in the radius log file? Is it correct that the password in the debug file is empty ? raiuds logg line "[radius-user-auth] expand: %{User-Password} -> "
I am configuring 802.1X in a 3560 Switch, my Radius server is a Microsoft IAS, when I connect a station of a guest user, the guest-vlan is not assigned in the port, and I have these logs:

I am using 802.1x authentication with multi-domain ports; Phone and PC connected to phone. The phones are Nortel (Avaya) and the PCs are Dell/HP Laptops. All are configured for Certificate authentication and this works well. However we sometimes get some ports stuck in Guest mode. when a non certificated laptop connects to a phone port and fails authentication, the data port is placed in the Guest VLAN. However when the laptop disconnects the port isn't reset and remains in the guest state. When a subsequent good laptop connects and attempts to authenticate the switch ignores this and leaves the data port in the Guest VLAN. he switch is a 2960S with Version 12.2(58)SE2 IOS.

I would have expected the auth function to have reacted to the EAP packets sent by the good client when it connected and performed eap authentication but it didn't, all it did was say the ports in Guest mode and left the laptop in this VLAN.
I'm wanting to setup a Virtual Office scenario. Everything is working fine except for 802.1x...I can get the 881 to authenticate things connected to it, but I don't have the options of guest-vlan or auth-fail vlan.Idea is if the users takes the router home and someone, either accidentally or on pupose, connects an unauthorized Laptop, they stay off the Corp network but can get to the internet still.I found this link on Cisco's site: [URL]That link shows them configuring a guest vlan right on the fa0-3 ports of an 881W. I dont have that option on mine. I can only configure 802.1x on the vlan interface. I have 802.1x working, for things that connect to vlan1, but I would like to have a "fallback" setup.
