I tried this user with one of switch in PI 1.2. It did not do configuration backup

I can't seem to enable in ASA with a non-15 privilege level user configured in ACS 4.2 (tacacs).When I enable in IOS device, it enables and "show privilege" shows level 10 as expected. ACS should be configured correctly as it works fine with IOS. User is not set with explicit settings. Group is set with "max enable level" 15 and "shell exec priv level" 15. The enable password is set to the internal ACS PAP password. Works fine in IOS.When I enable in ASA, it fails to enable, and ACS log says "Tacacs+ enable privilege too low". I suspect that ASA tries to enable into level 15 explicitely. If I try to issue "enable 10" command in ASA it says: Enabling to privilege levels is not allowed when configured for AAA authentication. View 2 Replies View RelatedI have FWSM's in Cat 6513's. I have a need to be able to session from the switch to the FWSM by using default account (not local user), at privilege level 15 I further have a need to allow a user read only access by ssh'n into the FWSM...
I believe I need to setup a local user, at, say privilege level 5, assign the show command only to privilege level 5, then set the authorization command for that user. So, i think my command sets are as follows to accomplish this:
username <username> password <pw> priv 5
priv command level 5 mode exec command show
aaa auth ssh console LOCAL
aaa auth enable console LOCAL
aaa authorization command LOCAL
I think, that this will allow the user at privilege 5 to run only the show command and only by SSH to the FWSM while allow the priv 15 level default login to continue to function properly.
i am running NX-OS image n5000-uk9.5.1.3.N1.1.bin on the nexus 5020 platform.i have configured authorization with tacacs+ on ACS server version 5.2 with fall back to switch local database.a user test with priv 15 is craeted on ACS server, password test2 everything works fine, until i create the same username on the local database with privilege 0. ( it doesnt matter if the user in local database was created before user in ACS or after ) e.g.: username test password test1 role priv-0 (note passwords are different for users in both databases)
after i create the same user in local database with privilege 0,if i try to connect to the switch with this username test and password defined on ACS, i get only privilege 0 authorization, regardless, that ACS server is up and it should be primary way to authenticate and authorizate the user.

I'm using ACS 5.1.0.44 and this version has a bug , ACS cannot read AD group. I have to add it manually . After I change the access policy from Internal user to AD1. I can use anyone AD ID to pass authenticaiton. I finished all config from the website had same result.
I checked the access polices -- default device admin -- authorization , the new rules I created had no hit count. How can I make sure that I make a right config ?
I'm trying to configure ACS 5.2 to assign the VLAN to a user dynamically based on the AD group that the user belongs to. I've gone into:
Users and Identity Stores -> External Identity Stores -> Active Directory -> Directory Groups tab
and selected the group name from the AD. If I understand correctly, I should now see this group under:
Policy Elements -> Authorization and Permissions -> Network Access -> Authorization Profiles -> Common Tasks -> VLAN ID/Name
However, it does not. Am I missing something?
Basically I want to query Radius for AD group membership and apply a set of Bookmarks based on that group. I would use LDAP, but we have two domains and I need both to be available for login, so I am using ACS 5.3 as a proxy. Our requirement is to assign ACS loal group to user on basis of windows Nt group. Which means I dont wants to create individual users in ACS rather when user will login, the auth request will be forwarded to AD(remote database). I configured two profiles with different split tunnel restrictions and what I discovered is that when the client connects to the ASA, they are provided a choice of these two groups (I guess there is no way to restrict this) and I can log into either one with any user account. How do I restrict this so that the user can only use one profile? Currently users capable of VPN would be placed in one specific AD group so that is what SecureACS checks. Is there a sample configuration guide to handle multiple profiles with different levels of access?

I've configured tacacs on the 4710 and configured the tacacs server per the documentation. If I enter the shell:<context>*Admin default-domain under the group settings when I login with my tacacs ID my role is set to Network-Monitor. If I set the shell in my specific tacacs ID I'm assigned the correct role as Admin. We're running ACS ver 4.1 and the ACE is A4(1.1)

- On ACS we were doing 802.1x Authentification over an Activedirectory, assigning Vlan according to computer/user group. In some case the user vlan could be different from the computer vlan (ex admin account connecting to a user account). This works great with ACS.I tested the same function with ISE and the behaviour is a bit different :
- When the computer boot, I can see the computer account being authenticated on ISE. The logs show the AD groups the computer belongs to and the Authorization profile is well applied according to the AD group.
- When the user login, I can see the user account being authenticated on ISE, BUT the logs show the AD groups of the previous authentication, the one belonging to the computer not the user. So the authorization profile is the one from the computer not the user.
It seems that the AD group attributes are not well updated :
- AD logs show the second authentication doesn't engage a new group parsing from AD
- Shutting down the switch port when user is logged engage a new authentication a AD group are well updated.
- Bug toolkit reference the same bug but for WLC CSCto83897 so I suspect it's present in other case.
Why is it that when SNMPv3 user "TestV3-User" was added to my SNMPv3 implementation on my 6506 switch, the group/MD5/Emcryption settings are missing for this user (See "sh snmp user" output)???

I have a Cisco ASA 5505 that I've setup with an SSL VPN. This is for personal use, and I therefore don't have need for anything more than local authentication. [code]
I'd like to have one profile/policy where I only encrypt data going to my split-tunnel ACL, and I'd like to have one profile/policy where I encrypt all traffic.
The issue ive been fighting is - it doesn't seem like its possible to associate more than one group policy per user. If it IS possible - can you tell me how I associate both groups to my local account?
