Cisco Firewall :: PIX 515 - How To Assign Static IP
May 20, 2012
I've been given 4 more public static ip's and would like to use one of them static ip's to point to my sharepoint box, for example i want to be able to access my sharepoint boxweb site externally:
212.xxx.xxx.01 - my public pix ip
212.xxx.xxx.02 - is my owa for email (https://xxxxxxx.net/owa)
212.xxx.xxx.03 - my sharepoint box (https://xxxxxx.net/sharepoint)
212.xxx.xxx.04 - not assigned
What command do I have to input on the Cisco Pix 515 to make that work?
with my broadband internet I received a range of 5 IP addresses from BT. I would like to assign one of them to the modem, in order to reach the modem from the outside using that IP.,Is this theoretically possible at all?,Is the WAG320N supporting static IP addresses with PPPoA at all?,When I select PPPoA as the encapsulation on the Setup/Basic setup tab, I cannot enter an IP address on that tab. I tried using the Setup/Ethernet tab, but selecting ""Use as a WAN port", "Static IP", inserting the IP and clicking on "save" result in a cut of the internet connection.
I want to assign static IPs to users that login to IPSec VPN using Group Authentication in ASA 8.2. The authentication through a Windows RADIUS server. Right now, they are connecting just fine and pulling an IP from the pool I have configured in the IPSec policy.
What would the best way to assign static IPs through VPN?
My system is in LAN. IP is assigned by DHCP. Now i want to assign a STATIC IP to my system. There is no direct connection from vendor router to my PC. My network path is like this. From ISP vendor to Switch->Firewall-> LAN switch. how can i configure Static IP in my PC..
Ok so I have a couple devices connected to it, but there's a trick with Android phones that users report better battery life assigning an Static IP to the phone, not dhcp or reservation. However I can't figure it out in this router as when I revoked the current address it wouldn't let me add a new one, and when I went to add one at .202 to be outside of dhcp range it doesn't let you and says to enter a number within the range, .100-.199
I have what I feel is sort of a strange issue. When I have systems on my home network get their IP from DHCP, they can get to the internet just fine. But it seems that when I assign a static address, they have local network access only, and will not get a connection to the internet. My windows 2008 server is the big problem with this one.
i have a ISDN connection i have got 1 static WAN ip and 7 static LAN ip . i have connected it to a server 2008 r2 given that the WAN ip and shared it how do i assisgn 7 LAN static IP in local area network
We have a Highly available VPN infrastructure across two data centers. We also use ACS 4.2 servers for authentication. The ACS servers are in teh same "cluster" in a Primary and Secondary fashion. Site A has primary ACS and primary ASA 5550 IPSec VPN termination. Site B has secondary ACS and redundant ASA 5550 IPsec VPN termination. We also use InfoBlox for DHCP IP address assignments. The two IPSec VPN Head end devices, ASA 5550s, they use different subnets for IP pools for the VPN Clients. Site A uses x.x.24.0 and Site B uses x.y.24.0. As indicated VPN clients authenticate using teh ACS 4.2 Radiius server. I can assign static IPs per user on the ACS server but this can only work for the primary site. Once static IP address is assigned on primary ACS for a user, this status will be replicated to the secondary ACS on Site B. When the Primary IPSec VPN Head End ASA or Internet fails on Site A, Clients on DHCP will work fine seemlessly via Site B. But for the static IP users, you have to change the Assigned Static IPs to match the subnet on Site B. How I can assign static IPs to clients via both Sites without manual intervention. Either via DHCP or ASA. I was trying to stay away from creating multiple Groups for VPN and also avoidng creating local ASA users because these options will not scale well as static user base increases. I need users to get a static IP address from Site A subnet when connected to Site A and get a static from Site B subnet when connected through Site B.
I have assigned a Static IP with other Linksys/Cisco wireless routers (WRT54G), but I can't seem to get the E4200 to assign a Static IP. My device is connected to Port 3, with that being the only port (besides my WAN) being occupied. When I enter the following and click Save Settings I get the following error: "Invalid Static Route!"I don't understand what I am doing wrong. This is the exact same as I have done on my WRT54G and it worked.
I am trying to assign static ip address on vlan 1 interface , the model no of switch is SG300 & the firmware version is 1.1.2.0 .But whenever I type the IP address & press enter , a question is popped up asking for confirmation (switch0d851f(config-if)#ip address 1.1.1.1 255.0.0.0.
Please ensure that the port through which the device is managed has the proper settings and is a member of the new management interface.Would you like to apply this new configuration? (Y/N)[N] N )
Actually I have a lab with ACS 5.3 running with 802.1x, but when when the user is successfully authenticated, it's assigned and IP address from the DHCP server, is there a way to assign a static IP address depending of login username??
I upgraded my SG500 switch firmware to 1.3.0.59, since there is a new functionality DHCP server v.4 well I must say I came accross the issue I cannot solve. DHCP server assign dynamic address - no hassles. troubles start with static IP hosts.I defined a couple of hosts with static address within the correct subnet. I tried with hardware address and client identifiers. no luck. my switch does not assign the IP address I assigned to the suitable mac address. to define it I use both CLI & Web.

I recently upgraded the ios image and the asdm on a cisco 5520 firewall. I use a policy on a cisco security manager to push policys out to this firewall. But it cant push to them now because the image has changed on the device. Is their anyway to re - assign the policy without having to do a new discovery.
I was trying to assing statefull link as same as LAN failover link on ASA5520 with VPN Plus license. But i am getting the below error. Is there any restriction in the license itself.
I'm currently replacing my ASA 5505 with a 5510. I have a range of public IP addresses, one has been assigned to the outside interface by the setup wizard (e.g. 123.123.123.124 ) and another I would like to NAT to an internal server (e.g 192.168.0.3 > 123.123.123.125). On my asa 5505 this seemed fairly straigh forward, i.e. create an incoming access rule that allowed SMTP to 123.123.123.125 and then create a static nat to translate 192.168.0.3 to 123.123.123.125. Since I've tried to do the same on the 5510 traffic is not passing through so I'm assuming that the use of additional public IP addresses is not handled in the same way as the 5505? I also see that by default on the 5505, 2 VLANs are created, one for the inside and one for the outside, where as this is not the case on the 5510. Is the problem that VLANs or sub-interfaces need to be created first? I'm doing the config via ASDM.
Everything else seems to OK i.e. access to ASDM via 123.123.123.124, outbound PAT and the site-to-site VPN.
I have ASA 5505 with base license. I created 3rd vlan on it.it was created. but i am unable to assign IP to it. i assign ip address it takes it. But when i do sh int ip brief it does not show any ip.
How do i tell my firewall to start listen also on another outside ipadress assigned by my ISP? I have it used on other firewall right now. So my steps would be shutting down ip address assignment off old firewall interface. Assign that ip address to ASA5510 outside interface and configure NAT.
I have a PIX 515E that I want to use to as a border between my internet connection and my Cisco AIR1131AG. I have configured the PIX to have the outside interface as a dhcp client which gets its dynamic IP address from the cable modem. the AP is connected to the E1 inside interface. Now I could see the E1 interface from the arp table from the AP but I cannot ping it. From the firewall I don't see the ARP table from the firewall. and i cannot ping the AP. what is wrong with the configuration? side note, i am able to connect to the AIR1131AG from my laptop I was not able to retrieve an IP address.

There is a PIX firewall and it has this configured on it.static (inside, outside) tcp interface 3389 192.168.1.250 3389 netmask 255.255.255.255 0 0.This line of code works ok for port 3389 but I want all tcp ports to be translated. Not just 3389.
Based on the network object below, I am looking for confirmation that It is good practice to use this natted object in my ACL applied incoming to the inside interface rather than have another object specifically for the object My_PC. I have tested and it does work, however this is my preffered option rather than having to create 2 objects, for the host and also the natted host.ASA(config)# object network My_PCASA(config-network-object)# host 192.168.33.2ASA(config-network-object)# nat (inside, outside) static 209.165.201.2
The order in the older ios was nat 0 then static. With the new ios how is the static nat treated if i have a nat (inside, outside) source static Now I need to do some static one to one nats for some servers in the same subnet as the no nat
its basic configuration where i have my server on the inside network (172.16.0.7) which i want it to be natted to public ip to (195.44.148.53) .
i tried to add an access-list ingress direction on the outside interface to permit traffic from any to the public ip 195.44.148.53 but still its not working.
I understand that when host A 10.0.0.1 wants to connect to host B192.168.1.1 its going to be translated to 170.66.53.1 when host 192.168.1.1 wants to connect to10.0.0.1 the same entry will change the destination when the packet hits the asa from 170.66.53.1 to 10.0.0.1, is that correct ?
I just replaced a PIX 501 with a new ASA5505. I had a very weird problem and would like to know what caused it incase I run into it again. The setup is a DSL connection, with an old-ish speedstream DSL modem. Static IP, no PPPoE. I had a PIX 501, then two servers with static NAT entries on secondary WAN IPs. Everything was working fine on the PIX, I just duplicated the config over to the ASA. I swapped out the PIX for the ASA, and rebooted the DSL modem to clear out it's cache. After installation, NAT was working fine for the the global pool, but the systems with static NAT could not get online. I tried lots of different things to fix them, and they never worked. Finally I rememberd running into an issue like this a long time ago, in that the static NAT IP's wouldn't work without giving them a bump-start on the network. So I assigned the ASA each of my WAN IPs, one at a time, and tested them all. After that I went back to the original WAN IP, configured the static NATs, and they fired right up. why did my static NAT entries not work until I first assigned them to the ASA, then swapped back? I did reset the DSL modem when I swapped the firewalls, so I don't believe it was an ARP issue (unless it was an ARP issue at the far end?) I would like to know if there is something I can do differently with the devices or with the config to not have this issue again in the future.
I have a firewall which is conntect to a Cisco 870 router.
The router only allows one ip address to ssh into and it which is 7.7.7.7 but the interface which is connected to the router is on the firewall is a 2.2.2.2 and the router interface is a 2.2.2.1.
I can ping the router from the inside of my firewall, but I can't ssh into it at is has a access list which will only allow ssh from the ip address 7.7.7.7.
Would it be possible to do a static NAT which can translate the 2.2.2.2 to a 7.7.7.7 when I ssh into the router when coming from the inside?
I am having issues getting this to work. For email, I have mail.xxx.xxx DNS'd to 165.165.165.165. I want it to come in to 10.1.0.31. It needs to go out a cluster of 10.1.0.31, 10.1.0.34, or 10.101.201.31 but look like it came from the 165.165.165.165 address. I have set up static NAT for the inbound. I have set up the global PAT with an ACL group of the 10.xxx addresses. I have set this same method up on an ASA with no issues but it doesn't want to work on the PIX 6.3. What am I missing?
no fixup protocol smtp 25 object-group service NewExchange tcp port-object eq https port-object eq smtp [Code] ....
I have Static NAT on ASA 5520 for mail server and proxy server. I can use it from internet. now i want to Static NAT for 192.168.0.0/24. I mean 192.168.0.241-> 172.29.0.5, 192.168.0.242->172.29.0.6 so on.
I want when 192.168.0.10 hit 192.168.0.241 it goes to 172.29.0.5.
just simple static NAT. which command i need at ASA ? what is GW of 192.168.0.10 pc ?
