Cisco Switches :: SG500 DHCP Server Does Not Assign Predefined Static IP Addresses

I upgraded my SG500 switch firmware to 1.3.0.59, since there is a new functionality DHCP server v.4 well I must say I came accross the issue I cannot solve. DHCP server assign dynamic address - no hassles. troubles start with static IP hosts.I defined a couple of hosts with static address within the correct subnet. I tried with hardware address and client identifiers. no luck. my switch does not assign the IP address I assigned to the suitable mac address. to define it I use both CLI & Web.

I imagine I can use the framed-ip-address attribute to assign ip-addresses but there seem to be support for static ip addresses only?A bit of a drag when we're talking 200+ nodes.
I used to use a CentOS self-made server for intranet for my little office, but I bouth few days ago a Cisco 861 router to replace the linux box.
1. I have 2 public IP classes from my ISP. 1 class is limitted to 80mbit upload, the other to 30mbit upload. So I need some sort of DNAT to be able to know exactly which intranet computer uses big internet and which one limitted internet. 2. I need DHCP server and with static IP addresses (one computer must always have the same IP address, etc).. i have my needs for this. 3. Also I need external access to some servers inside (web, ftp, etc) [code]
So far so good, all looks simple and I can achieve this in 2 hours on a centos linux box (correct routes, ip forwarding enabled and few iptables rules for NAT/SNAT/DNAT).
But on this brand new Centos router well, i'm not even successful in pinging the outside world, nor the inside world I'm tired of reading the forums, the documentation..i want (at first) a simple scenario: vlan+dhcp, fa4 with 1 public ip address and ACCESS to the real world. I wasn't able to achieve not even that much. [code]
The 1130ag was the LAP model but I upgraded it to run in autonomous mode. My understanding is that it cannot assign IP addresses but I just want that confirmed. It is not connected to a WLC nor a server that can do DHCP.
I have a PIX 515E that I want to use to as a border between my internet connection and my Cisco AIR1131AG. I have configured the PIX to have the outside interface as a dhcp client which gets its dynamic IP address from the cable modem. the AP is connected to the E1 inside interface. Now I could see the E1 interface from the arp table from the AP but I cannot ping it. From the firewall I don't see the ARP table from the firewall. and i cannot ping the AP. what is wrong with the configuration? side note, i am able to connect to the AIR1131AG from my laptop I was not able to retrieve an IP address.

I am trying to assign static ip address on vlan 1 interface , the model no of switch is SG300 & the firmware version is 1.1.2.0 .But whenever I type the IP address & press enter , a question is popped up asking for confirmation (switch0d851f(config-if)#ip address 1.1.1.1 255.0.0.0.

I have a RVS4000 router with DHCP enabled and in router mode.
The LAN is 192.168.2.x. The RVS4000 static IP address is 192.168.2.8
The router is not the RVS4000 and is at 192.168.2.1
The RVS4000 dhcp is assigning it's clients a default gateway of 192.168.2.8 instead of what I want 192.168.2.1. How can I get the RVS4000's DHCP server to assign another IP address other than its own as the default gateway to its DHCP clients?
How do i get the 12.4 code to assign a dhcp address to my ethernet interface from my server? I deleted the default config on the 1141 and searching has not turned up anything useful.
I have a LAN with about 200 computers (192.168.10.0/24) with a DHCP Server on Windows server 2003.The problem is that my company have acquired 100 others computers that I have connected on this network.Some computer does not get IP address from the DHCP server. When I investigated the log of the DHCP server, I realized that the DHCP server was out of addresses.
We have a Cisco 5505 ASA fireawll at a remote site. I can get the firewall to issue the IP addresses to the pc's, Is there a way for the pc's to get their IP addresses directly from our DHCP server?
I currently have DCHP server set up on my new 1141N. Everything works great, but I wanted to know if it were possible to make the DHCP server only hand out ip addresses on the wireless connection? Currently the AP is giving out ip addresses from the pool to wired and wireless pc's.
Setting up a stand-alone WDS/PXE server.Current we have helper addresses setup to forward the DHCP requests from the different VLAN's to the DHCP server. The WDS/PXE server we are setting up is on its server. How do we craft the helper addresses so DHCP requests go to the proper server hosting DHCP and PXE requests go the WDS server?
Everything I seen on Microsoft Technet, lists using Helper Address as the recommended way, but assume both services are on the same server. Our helper address is as follows on each VLAN interface in router: ip helper-address X.X.X..This is a Cisco 3750.

The party that installed and configured the server set it up to run the DHCP server on the server PC itself. THE SETUP: As of right now we have a wall port (internet access) with a cable running to a 8 port unmanaged netgear switch that has cables hooked up to the 5 workstations as well as the server itself. If I connect a laptop to int fa1/0/10 I DO NOT get an IP address from the 10.100.0.8 scope. If I connect to another interface within the VLAN 1, I get an address from the 10.100.0.0 range.
I'm having troubles with this firmware in a SG300-28 switch. Actually the DHCP server, a new feature in this firmware release, doesn't work correctly. DHCP static reservations are not working: CLient ID and MAC address are not recognized correctly, and the DHCP server assigns the first free IP in the pool, rather than the reserved one.If Cisco engineers read this, plese correct the issue.
I just bought an e4200. I was using a LinkSys WRT54GS running DD-WRT alternative firmware.
One feature that I really liked in DD-WRT was the ability to assign static IP leases from the DHCP server. I liked having all of my devices running with a predictable, known IP address on my network. I have a Home Theater PC, and various controller applications that run on iPhones, etc. - some pretty homebrewed. Configuring the firewalls, etc. was much easier with IP address based controls.
Is there a way to achieve the same within the e4200's stock firmware?
I was trying to find if it's possible to add the option for static routes for DHCP clients on Cisco IOS DHCP config mode. I'm looking to add a settings as defined on RFC 3442, like this one, set on ISC DHCPd server:

We have 3 SG500-52 switches that are stacked and configured for layer 3 that replaced a couple of SG2010 switches a month ago. Switch units 1 and 2 are for servers and unit 3 for the workstations. The switches are connected with stacking SFP+ copper cables, 1 1M and 2 7M cables. The problems are occurring between the workstations and servers resulting in slow traffic on some links and connection failures. A repeatable failure occurs doing a backup from a PC on unit 3 to a server on unit 1 and 2 (2 port LAG). Moving the workstation to a port on unit 1 results in successful backups every time.
Initially I was able to confirm packet loss between my PC (on unit 3) and the servers using ping (ping -f -c 100000 -s 1460) of about .1%. The iperf program in udp mode also showed some packet loss and in tcp mode showed slow connections. A week ago I then upgraded the switches from v1.2.0.97 to v1.2.7.76 and rebooted. After that the ping and iperf tests show no problems although there are still slow connections to samba shares and the backups still consistently fail.
I suspect there is a problem with the stacking connections and have searched for traffic statistics on the stacking ports to look for errors but have not found anything. Doing a snmpwalk didn't reveal anything that I recognized. There are interface counters for all the ports except the stacking ports.
Am looking into using stacking and NIC teaming to create redunancy for user access to servers. What I am thinking is getting 2 SG500-28 switchs and configuring them in a stack that appears as one logical switch. Now on the servers I would configure 2 NICs to be a team so they appear as 1 logical interface, perferably in an active/active configuration using LACP. In this NIC team take 1 team member to switch A and the other to switch B, so each team member is on seperate switches.
Givent the scenario:
1) Will that work with the 500 series switchs? Reason for the switches is their price point is perfect for my client.
2) Besides the stack link will there also need to be a LAG between the switches or does the stack link do data traffic also?
I just thought if it's possible to make sure that only approved IP addresses for each of divisions of a company can be used.How can I assign for a port one/more public addresses and be sure that only this port is using it/them. Thing is I have only one 24 bit public Network ID provided to me by ISP. One IP address of the range is used for ISP's gateway. So I have 253 addresses to be distributed among divisions. However to avoid IP address conflicts I have to be sure that only dedicated for a division IP address/es is/are used by the division.
I'm currently replacing my ASA 5505 with a 5510. I have a range of public IP addresses, one has been assigned to the outside interface by the setup wizard (e.g. 123.123.123.124 ) and another I would like to NAT to an internal server (e.g 192.168.0.3 > 123.123.123.125). On my asa 5505 this seemed fairly straigh forward, i.e. create an incoming access rule that allowed SMTP to 123.123.123.125 and then create a static nat to translate 192.168.0.3 to 123.123.123.125. Since I've tried to do the same on the 5510 traffic is not passing through so I'm assuming that the use of additional public IP addresses is not handled in the same way as the 5505? I also see that by default on the 5505, 2 VLANs are created, one for the inside and one for the outside, where as this is not the case on the 5510. Is the problem that VLANs or sub-interfaces need to be created first? I'm doing the config via ASDM.
Everything else seems to OK i.e. access to ASDM via 123.123.123.124, outbound PAT and the site-to-site VPN.
How do i tell my firewall to start listen also on another outside ipadress assigned by my ISP? I have it used on other firewall right now. So my steps would be shutting down ip address assignment off old firewall interface. Assign that ip address to ASA5510 outside interface and configure NAT.
I have a Motorola Surfboard Modem connected to a Netgear 24-port switch. I bought the WAP4410N to provide wireless connectivity from the switch. All my PC's can get perfect connectivity via the switch but none of my wireless devices can connect at all. Sometimes I can get 1 PC to connect but what's strange is I can view my networked folders and such but cannot access the internet. I've upgraded the firmware to the latest May-2012. I am looking for a how to configure a DHCP server for a Cisco SMB 300 series switch to obtain an automatic configuration. Currently i am using a Cisco 1800 router as my DHCP server and the DHCP pool serving the 300 series switch is configured as follows.

Looking at pcaps, I don't even see a tftp request going the server after the switch obtains an IP via DHCP. The config file format is exactly as obtained from the download backup section (pretty sure its not the issue since i don't see a download attempt). Also, the SMB switch is running the latest firmware image (1.1.1.8)
Looking though the admin guide i did not see specifics on how the DHCP server was to be configure for the auto configuration feature to work.
