I have a Belkin Play N600 HD router. Does it have the capability to let me assign fixed IP addresses to devices like printers, NAS drives, and cameras so I know where they are?

View 3 Replies View Related I have an ADSL connection and have configured the PPPoE subinterface on WAN1 (ADSL) this connection has a static IP, and I know that the ISP gives that to me through DHCP however I have 4 or 5 additional IP addresses also provided to me on that same link, and they are not given to me via DHCP.
How do I configure this router to have multiple fixed IP addresses on a PPPoE interface?
I also need to port forward some ports for each of the IP's but I assume this will be easy after i have the IP addresses setup.
I live in an area where there are lots of wireless modems and since most broadcast on the default frequencies, here is often interference. I'd like to set my AC900 to broadcast on a fixed channel that is not often used, e.g. 2 or 3 or 8.

View 2 Replies View RelatedThis is IOS 15.1(4)M3 on a 1921 router. The LAN is 192.168.42.1/24. (DHCP config is further down.) We have a small range that we want to assign via DHCP to devices; .200 through .220 . At the same time, we have a handful of Macintosh systems to which we want to assign a specific address that is not in that 200-220 range. I don't want to configure the assignment based on the Ethernet MAC addresses because these systems might connect via UTP or wireless; that is to say, they have more than one MAC address. They only ever connect using one interface/MAC address at a time, but it's their choice; in some areas wi-fi is available, and in some areas they have to cable-up.
The Mac OSX network settings has a field for "DHCP Client ID". It would be much easier to tell the users of these systems to put their Mac's name in the Client ID field for both their wired and wireless DHCP configs. (As opposed to having them all lookup, and then give me their Ethernet MAC addresses for both of their interfaces.) I tried this with my Mac's (named "shrike") wi-fi interface, but I don't get the 192.168.42.14 address that I expected. I get an address from the .200 to .220 range.
Here's the DHCP-related config from the router:

Is "client-name" the wrong place to configure the DHCP Client ID?
N600 router will not comunicate with my desktop computer through a cisco switch. The LAN was working fine when I was using a Linksys router. Is this a compatability problem between Belkin and Linksys products?

Downstairs I have an older Dell PC that I use for my business. I have an Ethernet run from upstairs to downstairs. Under the Belkin desktop I can clearly see 2 SSID's. One shows 2.4 GHz SSID & network name and the other 5GHz SSID & network name. media. I have unplugged the router and modem several times and that does not work. When I check the various wireless systems available (on the TV screen) I see mine there but it will not connect. At one point I did see something that said ethernet cable disconnected, but I checked and the cable is connected.

View 1 Replies View RelatedA N600 Router Model F9J1102v1 router first installed in July 2012 with WPA-PSK, MAC Address Filtering and "Self Healing" enabled would not allow a new PC to connect via an RJ45 port. Belkin support ask for the unit to be reset to factory settings which is done and the Security system re-enabled again. Valid MAC Addresses start to be added and midway a PC is discovered in the Network without its MAC address added. Closer scrutiny reveals that another unknown device has also found a way into the router and that the 'Block' option on the MAC list is also failing to work. Anyone think of what one should do with this security shambles other than turn the thing off quick?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI was having problems connecting to one of my usb devices that was plugged into my router. I unplugged the router to reset it and whenever it starts up it flashes green and the green light goes solid for less then a minute before turning red. It's a solid red light. I've tried unplugging everything and restarting it and nothing. Ironically it still lets me connect to the internet but when I access the control panel on my computer it shows as disconnected. Is this means my router is busted. This is my second Belkin Router and the only reason I had to replace the last one is because it was a G+Mimi router and I upgraded to an N Router.
