Acer Aspire 5742Z / Getting A (limited Connectivity) Message?
Apr 2, 2012
i have a new Acer Aspire 5742Z with standard Windows 7 OEM OS from supplier.I'm trying to connect wireless to my network and i am getting a "limited connectivity" message.
- the network itself - have 10+ machines on the network.
- hardware - I've tried various cards internal and external.the LAN was also having issues until I disabled the QoS on the adaptor, however this does not facilitate the WLAN.I think it must be software issues and was wondering about Acers software as I know Toshiba's "config free" can interfere with WLAN. or there may be more i need to change to the adapter settings.
I just got a used Acer AspireOne AOA150 ZG5 Netbook and upon bringing it home, I received a "Limited or No Connectivity" error when attempting to use the internet via wireless. I have another laptop that connects at the same time with no issues. The Netbook DOES work if I hardwire into my home router. I have since taken the Netbook to work and it connects to the wireless there with no issues. So it seems to be an issue specifically with my home router/modem and this Netbook. So far I have flushed my DNS cache, done the Winsock and reset my TCP/IP, removed wireless profiles, and tried the Repair function.None of that has worked. My wireless properties are also set to automatically obtain the IP address.I'm on XP SP3 and it seems like a lot of folks think that it's a SP3 issue, but I don't think so in my case since the wireless is fine in other locations. I've just recently bought a second hand Acire laptop is v.good condition, it does everything fine apart from connect via wireless.I have another laptop which can connect on it's wireless and the Acer laptop can get a connection if you use a network cable directly to the router.I have a Sky phone & Broadband package.

I recently brought a new acer aspire with windows 8, it connects to the router/internet fine except every 10-20 mins (sometimes less) or so I get disconnected, my wifi icon in the tray shows a yellow '!', when I look in the wifi charm (the side bar thing) 'limited' is next to my routers name, but in reality It doesn't seem to have any connectivity atall.
I have an acer aspire 5742g laptop . I use wifi at my home , and the wireless network seemed to work fine there.
Then after a few days I came to the hostel . We have wifi in the hostel , so I tried to connect my laptop with the wifi . And there is a message that came , "Unable to connect to stes(name of the wifi network ) , earlier I thought that it was a temporary thing and that it would work the next day, but then the next day , my room mates arrived and their laptops connected easily without the error message .
1)When I click on the wifi icon on the right hand side bottom bar , I can see the network , but it does not connect , and gives me the same error message .
2)When I click on Network and Sharing Center , and then on manage wireless network , I don't see the name(stes) of the wireless network(So I can't even remove it)
3)I have tried uninstalling, installing, updating my network adapter , drivers etc . but none of the things have worked .
I can't seem to figure out what the problem is . Its really bugging me now :| , I formatted my laptop , restored it to factory settings , nothing worked. I also tried to connect through a hotspot which I made from my mobile and it got connected easily without any problem .
I'm running Windows Vista on an ACER Aspire M1610 with a connectivity issue. I was running a static IP address before the connectivity issues. I tried overriding this issue by manually inputting an IP address. I found the IP address the router uses since I currently have multiple computers connected to the same router. However only one computer only have the connectivity issues. The cmd prompt reveals in ipconfig that my IP address as 169.254.14.118, started having problems when a hardware froze my PC and had to reboot it. i uninstalled it, resetted my router and modem, and still have connectivity issues. How do I regain connectivity?
I have been having this problem with limited access with my internet. I have deleted mcafee, norton, photoshop, applications etc. I have restored the system to a previous date. I have disabled firewalls and antiviruses. I have an Acer Aspire with Broadcom 802.11n Network Adapter. I only have wireless as I am sharing my internet and therefore can't test it with an Ethernet cable. I cannot switch on and off the modem box either. I have this limited access which disappears by itself after a few minutes. Then it comes back again. I disable the wireless and enable it again which solves the problem for only a few minutes. I have checked my ip which is 192.168.1.20 with submask of 255 something - which I don't think is the problem. At last, I have switched to Safe mode with Networking but even in this mode I still have limited access. The internet connection keeps cutting off and on all the time.
I bought an Acer laptop running on Windows 8, but the internet would disconnect every few minutes and it would say no internet connectivity or limited connectivity. I replaced the PC with an other one and I had the same problem. so I returned the PC and bought a Packard Bell running on windows 8 as well, but again the same problem. I do have other computers in my household working fine (not windows 8).
I have an Acer Aspire 3810T, recently I reloaded windows 7 to get rid of a virus. It functioned normally for about a day and then it stopped connecting to the internetEvery other wifi enabled device I have connects just fine so its not my modem. It says its connected to the network but there's no internet access. I've tried troubleshooting, but the only suggestion it gives me is to reset my modem, which I know isnt the problem.
My Acer One Aspire wireless connection shows connected but I cant get any Firefox browser to work.
I have a D-link DIR-825 router and it has worked every time except today. I havent used my Netbook very much at home though, maybe a few times a year as I usually take it with me on trips.
I attempted to narrow down the problem. I called D-link as my router was still under warranty. They advised clearing all my old connections and rebooting but I got the same problem. I told them my Sony PS3 works, so they suggested I contact Acer as they think it is not the router. My direct hardwire connection also works.
I then took my Netbook to Best Buy and it worked there. The guy said they can pay a visit to my house as it is probably interference of some sort. This will cost $100. Why would my PS3 work if it was interference? Maybe its the proximity of my Netbook to something, but I tried it near my PS3 and it still had the same problem.
Id rather try to solve the problem myself first. I havent changed anything except a modem and Windows 7 updates.
I have an acer aspire 5520. Our wireless connection has worked fine for years and now all of the sudden it will no longer work. I have tries system restore and just about everything else suggested and it still is not working.
Do I need different network settings for when I am connected with my Rogers Rocket Stick vs when I am connected to my home Bell router? When I am at the cottage using the Rocket Stick, I have a good strong connection but, getting to web sites is extremely slow if at all. Win 7 on Acer Aspire One 522, 2 GB RAM
I have a Acer Aspire 5738Z (Pentium Dual-Core T4200 Processor 2.0GHz, 3GB RAM) laptop for a long time now I've had problems with my internet connection. Quite often the laptop will connect to the wireless network but then very soon after it will go from being able to access "local and internet" to it just saying it can access just "local" meaning that when this happens I cannot connect to anything. often i disconnect from the wireless network then re connect to it and the internet will come back briefly but I am having to do this procedure over and over again and I know there must be something which I can do about it.
My family recently purchased an Acer Aspire One netbook running Windows 7. Unfortunately, once I got it out of the box and tried to connect to the internet, I had some problems. My family predominantly uses Apple devices - in fact, this netbook is the only PC that we have in the house. All of our Apple devices work wonderfully with our current Wi-Fi connection (iPhone, iPad, MacBooks, etc). The Acer is able to detect our wireless, and it even says that it's "connected" with excellent signal strength. However, it says it is an "Unidentified Network" with "no internet access." To see if this problem limited to just that wi-fi connection, I hooked up my Verizon Wireless Mi-Fi and it worked just fine with the Acer.
My Acer had been working fine wirelessly for years and years. This is a long story so get ready. My acer runs windows xp. Its a netbook as well. That much said I was surfing the web and at a point I noticed connection was gone. I looked at the icon in the below tray and it had a yellow caution and it also indicated little or no connectivity. I tried uninstalling driver then having system recognize it. None of the tricks I know resulted in it working. The two things I noted were Low or no connectivity or it gets hung on validating identity. Sometimes I see something about unable to access or read a certificate. Ok I tried my other net book and it connects to the home wireless no problem. The acer will connect to my paid wireless (credit card size type) if connected via usb cable. So i thought ok the internal net-books wireless adapter is broke so i go buy a wireless usb adapter. Now I show two wireless icons. neither one actually connects. Basically same results as if I never had the usb modem. Now I have done several system recovery operations with same results. one of them was with the on hd hidden partition and also from CD?
I downloaded both broadcom and athon wireless lan driver and nothing my pc doesnt even show my wireless lan in device manager. but there is a ? in network controler but it will will not conect to internet to download the driver whatever it is.
I have an Acer Aspire X3950, the computer was on standy-by, but my dad didn't know and pressed the power button, suddenly turning it off. When he turned the computer back on, the internet no longer worked.
I have an Acer Aspire 5715 running Vista..the wireless was acting up so I purchased a new Atheros wireless adapter. It runs fine for a while then loses signal then pops back up. I have reformatted the laptop, checked all the appropriate areas (so that it does not turn off to save power) downloaded the latest drivers, and reset my router to factory settings.
I have an ACER Aspire 1830 (netbook) and has 3g build in according to the teacher, and it obviously is in because the sim has been put in the laptop (The scrap is in the box from the sim). Everytime I try to use it it says that my APN is incorrect.
I have taken a few steps to try and fix this:
1. I have changed the APN to all of the possible ones from Telstra (telstra.internet, telstra.data, etc.), and none of them seemed to have worked.
2. I asked a friend who has the same laptop whos 3g IS working to check the details on his laptop, and there is no APN or user/pass in his laptop.
Cannot get on internet. Loaded Windows XP on Acer Aspire 3620. I think the laptop was dropped. Try to get it onto the internet and use the computer primarily to check my e-mail and chat.
I've had my Acer Aspire One D255e For a few months and it connected to the internet just fine. One day I turned it on and now I can't connect to the internet even though the signal connects just fine.
Having a problem connecting with my home wifi through this laptop but when using other computers/laptops in within the home they seem to connect fine. it was working fine last night and then when i switched on today it stopped working. the wifi seems to be showing all the networks around the vicinity, but no connection. i ran ipconfig and it seems to state that my 'media is disconnected'
My wireless adapter not present n not working at all.im use window 7.my cd player/burner and ricah sd card reader also not function and no device on device manager
I am using Acer Aspire M5621, It does not have a wireless card. My aunts computer is currently using the modem. So, do I need to buy another Bell Modem, and will I be able to connect via that? Or do I buy one of those wireless cards or external wireless things you put in the USB port.
I am trying to connect, but also have the best speed I can get.
In the last few weeks my wireless has been crap and it's been quite slow, making some pages take forever to load or stuck in a constant loading cycle. Im on a Acer Aspire One D257-13448 netbook with built in Intel Centrino N-100 wireless adapter.
I've tries a lot of things already, resetting my Bell 2Wire modem outer, disabling and re-enabling my wifi, chaning the wireless network name and password, and even chaning the power settings for maximum wireless performance. Though I have noticed a little increase in speed with the last action, its still slower then it was when I first got my netbook back in september. I know the network is fine because my two computer connected by wires work just fine.
