I've just recently bought a second hand Acire laptop is v.good condition, it does everything fine apart from connect via wireless.I have another laptop which can connect on it's wireless and the Acer laptop can get a connection if you use a network cable directly to the router.I have a Sky phone & Broadband package.

i have a new Acer Aspire 5742Z with standard Windows 7 OEM OS from supplier.I'm trying to connect wireless to my network and i am getting a "limited connectivity" message.
- the network itself - have 10+ machines on the network.
- hardware - I've tried various cards internal and external.the LAN was also having issues until I disabled the QoS on the adaptor, however this does not facilitate the WLAN.I think it must be software issues and was wondering about Acers software as I know Toshiba's "config free" can interfere with WLAN. or there may be more i need to change to the adapter settings.

I just got a used Acer AspireOne AOA150 ZG5 Netbook and upon bringing it home, I received a "Limited or No Connectivity" error when attempting to use the internet via wireless. I have another laptop that connects at the same time with no issues. The Netbook DOES work if I hardwire into my home router. I have since taken the Netbook to work and it connects to the wireless there with no issues. So it seems to be an issue specifically with my home router/modem and this Netbook.So far I have flushed my DNS cache, done the Winsock and reset my TCP/IP, removed wireless profiles, and tried the Repair function.None of that has worked. My wireless properties are also set to automatically obtain the IP address.I'm on XP SP3 and it seems like a lot of folks think that it's a SP3 issue, but I don't think so in my case since the wireless is fine in other locations. I bought an Acer laptop running on Windows 8, but the internet would disconnect every few minutes and it would say no internet connectivity or limited connectivity.
I replaced the PC with an other one and I had the same problem. so I returned the PC and bought a Packard Bell running on windows 8 as well, but again the same problem. I do have other computers in my household working fine (not windows 8).

I'm also on a hp laptop (dv8000 vista 32) and have the same problem. Other hp and dell laptops in the house have no problem (xp and win 7). Tried system restore, turning off firewall but so far no luck.I found a microsoft "fix" mentioned here: Smoke & Mirrors: Vista - Access: Limited Connectivity but unsure since the first time didn't work (before system restore).

I have been having this problem with limited access with my internet. I have deleted mcafee, norton, photoshop, applications etc. I have restored the system to a previous date. I have disabled firewalls and antiviruses. I have an Acer Aspire with Broadcom 802.11n Network Adapter. I only have wireless as I am sharing my internet and therefore can't test it with an Ethernet cable. I cannot switch on and off the modem box either. I have this limited access which disappears by itself after a few minutes. Then it comes back again. I disable the wireless and enable it again which solves the problem for only a few minutes. I have checked my ip which is 192.168.1.20 with submask of 255 something - which I don't think is the problem.At last, I have switched to Safe mode with Networking but even in this mode I still have limited access. The internet connection keeps cutting off and on all the time.

i have factory reset my Toshiba laptop un clicked ipv6 but a setting in vista only gives me local or limited connectivity and im unable to access the internet and my other Toshiba laptop allows me full access along with my phone allows full access to the wireless network therefore tells me the router is not the cause?

I am having trouble with a Vista Dell Inspiron 1525 laptop that says it is connected to my Linksys router, but has limited connectivity. It's this way with both a wired and wireless connection. I have 4 other computers in the house that all connect with no problems. The Dell laptop connects in safe mode, but won't connect when in normal mode

The wireless Internet at home is not working on my laptop anymore. It's working fine on my mobile as well as with other wireless networks at school for example. No matter what browser I use I usually dont get to any website. Most of the time it says access: local only, or local and internet, or limited connectivity. If I'm lucky at the right time I can open a website but then it's gone again.

I recently brought a new acer aspire with windows 8, it connects to the router/internet fine except every 10-20 mins (sometimes less) or so I get disconnected, my wifi icon in the tray shows a yellow '!', when I look in the wifi charm (the side bar thing) 'limited' is next to my routers name, but in reality It doesn't seem to have any connectivity atall.

I have a laptop with a wireless connection to a netgear router. My Internet work perfectly, however after a certaiN amount of time I can't access the Internet although it still stats that I am connected. It reads " connected with limited access". I then have to restart my laptop to gain Internet access again. I have other computers and laptops and tablets that don't share this problem.

i've been having this problem with my laptop since i brought it it will connect to the router but not the internet it also send packets but will not receive tried the tcp/ip thing i brought up the command prompt refreshed stuff but thats all im not skilled enough to know much in this type of technical problem i did pull up the ipconfig/all command though and this is what came up

I'm running Windows Vista on an ACER Aspire M1610 with a connectivity issue. I was running a static IP address before the connectivity issues. I tried overriding this issue by manually inputting an IP address. I found the IP address the router uses since I currently have multiple computers connected to the same router. However only one computer only have the connectivity issues. The cmd prompt reveals in ipconfig that my IP address as 169.254.14.118, started having problems when a hardware froze my PC and had to reboot it. i uninstalled it, resetted my router and modem, and still have connectivity issues. How do I regain connectivity?

I have an Acer Aspire X1200 with Windows Vista Home Premium OEMAct.I've tried searching for tutorials on how to fix this issue.I have cable internet through TimeWarnerCable, Roadrunner.Already called up timewarner's customer support and they were unable to fix the problem. Went and exchanged the cable modem for a different one.I've tried changing the network to private, but it keeps reverting back to public itself. Local Access Only on Vista PC
I restored an old Vista laptop to out-of-the-box state to give to my Dad. This laptop had a wireless connection to the internet and network previously. After the restore, I can't get a connection to the internet, even though my router sees it and it has an ip address. It says Unidentified Network Local Access only, and it doesn't see any of the computers on the network. Sometimes the other computers see it but can't connect, sometimes, the other computers don't see it. I hate Vista.

Atheros AR5007EG
All my other eight devices have an internet connection no problem, but I powered off the modem and router a couple of times with no change. I tried updating the Atheros to the latest driver on Toshiba's website for this model, but it doesn't seem to take. If I uninstall the old drivers, Windows rudely just immediately reinstalls them again. If I just update the driver, and pick the new file, the driver version remains the same as the previous driver. I'm banging my head on the wall with the driver

I have 2 laptops- both Acer Aspire. I'm trying to share a wireless internet connection on laptop #1 with laptop #2 via a crossover cable. Internet sharing is turned on with laptop#1. both laptops are set to obtain ip automatically. Laptop #2 will connect to #1 with the cable, but the connection shows "Unidentified network No Internet Access. Diagnostics reports "Local area connection invalid ip config. "

I am trying to connect to the internet using both wifi and wired directly to the router and keep getting the same message "limited or no connectivity". It will see all the available wifi networks, and will even connect to the network, but no internet. I have used google and tried several solutions but to no avail. Also, just fyi, i currently have my desktop hardwired to router, and another laptop, ipad, ps3, wii, droid bionic and a couple of netbooks that all can connect to the router using wifi with no problem what so ever. I have also tried to connect to other networks with the same results. There are 2 network adapters, a broadcom netlink (tm) gigabit ethernet and a dell wireless 1397 wlan mini-card. Here is the ipconfig/all.

It is running on windows vista home premium 32 bit sp1, if that matters.I have just had my computer's motherboard changed recently. After reinstalling the wireless adapter, the internet works! Until I found when I came back later that my internet shows unidentified network with limited connectivity. It happened when I was not around and my computer went into hibernate mode after downloading firefox installer. There is no antivirus installed, so it can't be a problem. My wireless adapter is the usb type,brand tplink: TL-WN721N. Tried a few methods suggested by the internet but nothing works: unchecking the iv6 box, follow the steps that starts with the regedit part, uninstall and reinstall the driver for the wireless adapter, fix the ip address.There is no problem with the network as the rest of the computers and laptops in the house has no network issues. But all of them are running on windows 7.

I upgraded my old Linksys wrt54g to the E1500. All the XP os are connected via cable and wireless connection, but the Vista laptop i get local access only connection error. This laptop used to connect on the older router using wep but with E1500 wpa-2 it cannot connect. I am unable to ping the router from the laptop wireless. Connecting ethernet cable it works fine and logging in as a guest works does too.

I am having a problem trying to connect my wireless usb lan adapter to the internet. i checked my networks and i noticed that it said that i had Limited Connectivity (sometimes when i fool around with it, it switches to Local Only). i also have a wireless router (EH-100) on a separate network. that router's network, on the other hand, has no problems and it says that the network is Local and Internet. i really want to use my wireless usb lan adapter to connect my DSi to the internet. my ds recognizes the signal but because the adapter is on a Limited Connectivity network, it cant connect to the internet. I have an ACER Aspire 1830 (netbook) and has 3g build in according to the teacher, and it obviously is in because the sim has been put in the laptop (The scrap is in the box from the sim). Everytime I try to use it it says that my APN is incorrect.
I have taken a few steps to try and fix this:
1. I have changed the APN to all of the possible ones from Telstra (telstra.internet, telstra.data, etc.), and none of them seemed to have worked.
2. I asked a friend who has the same laptop whos 3g IS working to check the details on his laptop, and there is no APN or user/pass in his laptop.

I have an Acer Aspire 5315 running windows vista home basic, version 6002.For some time i have not been able to join wireless networks, but used a long ethernet cable to my room in shared house. yesterday we got a new router and have had to use it wirelessly. it is a talk talk D-Link DSL 2780, and al other housemates are on wirelessly. mine links up (sometimes) but says local only or limited connectivity - both of which mean i cannot connect to the net wirelessly.

I had a tech from Comcast come out but couldn't figure it out. The tech said it could be my router but tried a different one and still nothing. The network, for me, is listed as "Unidentified" and the connection switches between Local Only and Limited Connectivity. It also says I am connected to my network with excellent strength. If I plug the router directly into the laptop it still doesnt work.

I have tried renewing my ip address from the cmd prompt i have tried ipconfig/release, ipconfig/flushdns,ipconfig/renew and it didnt work my connection still keeps on going back to limited or no connectivity my DHCP is connected and i have default gateway ip i can get good connectivity if i reset the router by unplugging it but it still goes back?

I have a Acer aspire 5742 laptop using Windows 7. Recently the laptop keeps getting disconnected from the router when using wireless, nothing has changed recently at all, except for sky being put in and using the same splitter not sure if this would affect it or not? I don't think I ever set up my laptop for home WIFI. There is only one choice, (being Belkin) in Home Group and would like to take my puter to another room in my house using my WIFI modem occasionally. It did work fantastic at a friends house hooking up to their WIFI. I have been looking for a manual to download, but can't seem to find one on line or at the Acer home page.

I just recently bought a wireless router (DIR-615) from dlink. After installing it my laptop cannot connect to the wifi network but all other devices(iphones,etc..) can. After speaking with the dlink techs they told me it probably was a problem with my wifi adapter. I downloaded the latest driver with no success. I don't know what to try anymore.
