It used to be able to connect to my wireless fine. But I had to install some drivers in order to be able to connect it to the wall. Now my wireless internet is absolutely rubbish on my acer.I tend to be able to connect to my university wireless. But it keeps disconnecting. Now that I'm at home, although it detects my wireless and says there is excellent connection, it will not connect to my wireless whatsoever.

First I'm sharing a network via bridging from my dads house. Everything works perfect. I'm using a router at my house with no problems. At his house he as a modem hooked to net gear router and the acer will not connect to internet via wifi. So I bring the thing up to my house and it connects fine via wifi. The acer will connect using a eithernet cable at his house but not wifi.
I was wondering if the acer is getting confused cause his router is hooked to a modem?I've tested and tryed everything under the sun and nothing seems to work.I know theres nothing wrong with the wifi software or hard ware in the acer cause it connects fine And surfs the web via wifi at my house but not at my dads.
My partners Aspire 5315 laptop will not connect to our newly installed Virgin wifi. Virgin have tried to access while hard wired and can see no issue with wifi, my laptop runs without issue Samsung Q35.When trying to connect Windows Network Diagnostics the message that comes up is;Cannot communicate with primary DNS Server(194.168.4.100).Network diagnostics pinged the remote host but did not receive a response.We can take her Aspire laptop out and connect to friends WIFI (Virgin, BT etc.) without any issues but cannot do this on our own wifi at home. Every diagnostic thats been run shows no issues with anything. [code] When I hard wire the internet through the ethrnet connection I have no issues but kinda defeats the purpose of WIFI for my partner.

When I followed previous advice by unchecking the IEEE 802.1x box, I received the "40 bit or 104 bit" warning box and upon checking found that the 802.1x box had automatically been rechecked. It appears to work, says it's connected but shows no other computers & they don't show this one.The laptop is an Acer Travelmate 2428, running Win7 Professional. My 2 wirelessly networked PCs are running on WinXP & the printer is connected physically to one of those. The router/modem is an Edimax. In XP it talks about 'home networks' whereas Win7 has 'homegroups'. I've used the wizard to 'manually connect to a wireless network' which is how I networked the PCs. I've also tried all other options in the 'Network & Sharing Centre' including the troubleshooter which when 'troubleshooting network problems' only tells me my clock is not right. In the network & sharing centre under 'view your active networks it says 'home network' & next to homegroup says 'joined'.

My son just moved back in with us and we can not figure out how to get his Acer Aspire AX1300 desktop to commect to our internet.When we do network search it pulls up our internet no problem. I have an Acer Aspire 5570Z that is running Windows Vista with an Atheros AR5007EG Wireless Network Adapter. The Windows installation is a brand new clean install with all drivers on the computer being the latest and greatest from their respective manufacturers. Now for my problem...I am unable to connect to any wireless network using either the onboard wireless network card or an external USB wireless network adapter. When I scan for wireless networks my cpu will see them. I can then select whichever network I want to try and connect to but when I click the connect button it never takes me to the authentication screen to input the WEP key.
I have tried to manually enter the WEP and configure the network but then when I try to connect to the network it still tells me that Windows is unable to connect to the network. It gives me the option to diagnose connection or connect to another network but when I try diagnosing the connection it scans for a split second then it only gives me an option to go view available wireless networks. It is like my computer has lost the ability to authenticate a network connection.

I can't seem to figure out what the problem is . Its really bugging me now :| , I formatted my laptop , restored it to factory settings , nothing worked. I also tried to connect through a hotspot which I made from my mobile and it got connected easily without any problem .

All other devices within the house can connect (iPod, mobile phone, other laptops), but this laptop wont.It was connected but it disconnected itself and now refuses to connect. Clicking "Connect" on the dialog does nothing. The OS is possibly the worse I've ever used, but there doesn't seem to be much you can upgrade it to.The router is protected with "WPA-PSK [TKIP] + WPA2-PSK [AES]" according to the router setup, it's name is unique and password 8 chars long.

It's a LAN to LAN connection where the action tec is primary. I followed the directions changing the Secondary router address to 192.168.1.2 and the action tec stayed at 192.168.1.1. I also reset the action tec prior to any attachments (because I had an old belkin n+ connected). i also disabled DHCP in the secondary router. Both 5 & 2.4 Ghz have different passwords although I did try having them have the same password- no luck. I can't connect for whatever reason. Both network modes are mixed. On the action tec- the wireless is disabled. SSID are different. Can't connect for whatever reason. I am at a loss. I don't know if this is relevant- I use windows vista.

Everytime, I turn on the ADSL2+ wireless modem router, it connects to the internet and my laptop gets paired with the wireless network but after 30 mins time, wireless ADSL2+ router restarts itself and goins in a loop for nearly 5 times and then it gets connected to internet but then I cannot connect my laptop to the the router using wireless with error DHCP failed to assign IP but DHCP is enabled in the router. This has started since a month and I had tried several network change settings but nothing has given me a solution. I do use Kaspersky IS through which the connection flows in. My internet setting is set to use Automatic DNS discovery and most time, I get RC 102 DHCP error.
I am at my friend's house and she cannot connect her Acer laptop to the her own wifi (netgear router). Her iPad and my laptop (lenovo) both can connect to the wifi. This would lead me to believe that the issue is with her computer but her computer can connect to other wifis in the area...just not her own. I am not sure what is causing this...it may be that program "Acer eNet Management" but that still doesn't explain why she can connect to other wifis and not her own. Is there maybe a compatability issue with netgear and her wifi card?

It functioned normally for about a day and then it stopped connecting to the internetEvery other wifi enabled device I have connects just fine so its not my modem. It says its connected to the network but there's no internet access. I've tried troubleshooting, but the only suggestion it gives me is to reset my modem, which I know isnt the problem.

Quite often the laptop will connect to the wireless network but then very soon after it will go from being able to access "local and internet" to it just saying it can access just "local" meaning that when this happens I cannot connect to anything. often i disconnect from the wireless network then re connect to it and the internet will come back briefly but I am having to do this procedure over and over again and I know there must be something which I can do about it.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm still having problems with my Acer Aspire 5742G not connecting to my home wireless network. Nothing at all changes, but some days the Acer connects, and others not. When it won't connect, it does see the network, and shows that the signal strength is excellent, but it just will not connect. Other devices (2 BlacKBerry's with different OS's, iPad 2, New iPad, iPhone 3G and iPhone 4S) all connect with no problems in exactly the same location, so it seems that the Netgear DGN2200 router is not the problem.
(Acer doesn't seem interested, judging by the number of similar posts I've seen all over the Internet).
My Wifi network has a wpa2 password that is a random string of characters and numbers and yet last month a rogue IP Address kept popping up on my DNS list. It has to be coming from my neighbor who's bedroom is about 15 feet away from my router. So unless someone is sitting out on my front lawn to do this then it must be him.I've been looking for software that will notify me when a connection my router is attempted and kudos if it also asks my permission first would be great.There are wifi packet sniffers out there like Cain&Abel, Airsnort, that sort of thing but I am not quite savvy enough nor do I want to turn this into a complicated hobby but just need a basic warningin case something gets past my passwords again
