Can't Connect To (or Even Find) Canon LBP 3500 Printer On Network
May 10, 2011
There's a Canon LBP 3500 printer on my office network.I don't know its IP.It doesn't show up when I scan the local subnet with nmap.I cannot find the manual (hardcopy or online). It is plugged into the network. It is turned on.I have turned it off and on again.I have tried plugging it into other ports on our switch.
I have a canon ipf6350 printer that I want to move to another room in my house. It is currently connected via a network cable connected directly to my wifi router. The printer does not have wifi. how can I connect the printer to the network once it is in another room? I have an older belkin n1 vision wifi router I am not using. Can I connect this wirelessly to the existing network and then plug a cat 5 cable from the belkin to the printer?
I have 2 desktops (running windows 7), a Canon MF8300 printer, and an outgoing ethernet line, all on a Netgear Advanced Cable Modem Gateway CGD24-CPR. I'm only concerned with having the 2 desktops set up with the Canon printer. Both computers have been connected to the printer before and I have the startup disk. But once the new offices were set up and both of the desktops were moved, I can no longer access or find the printer.
I can IPconfig the Desktops for their IPV4 addresses and both desktops recognize eachother on a Homegroup, but I can't find the printer. I printed off the print configuration page from the printer which gave me an IP address (printer is set for auto-obtain), but using an IP search won't bring up the printer. All of the devices are plugged into ethernet ports set up for the three different office they are in and the actual location of the Netgear cable modem/router is over 100 feet away. My primary concern is getting the printer for the desktops, but I also need to add a wireless router into one of those office in the future.
Any way beside the standard router/printer rebooting, firewall disablity. I am able to connect to my first laptop on which I installed all the drivers on but when I try to add an additional windows 7 laptop
I have a printer canon 2230 i want to canact via network cabel throw switch ,then i want to sarching printer then show workgroup and next proces is not go.
I currently have Canon MX870 pixma printer - it is wifi enabled. A few weeks ago it went offline and I was able to reconnect it by entering the "access point" and password in printer control panel. It has once again gone offline however the printer cannot locate the access point by searching and when entered manually returns a message that it cannot locate the access point as entered. I am having the same problem with my TV which is also wireless connected, i.e., the TV is not connected to the internet and I cannot locate the network name (access point) in the setup menu on the TV. I had also previously reconnected the TV by entering the network name manually.
I tried looking in the router - Linksys Wireless-G 2.4 but cannot figure out where this information should be located. There is a setup tab in the router administration and both the Host name and the Domain name are blank. The router admin page states that: Host Name : Enter the host name provided by your ISP. Domain Name : Enter the domain name provided by your ISP. The wireless tab states: Status: SES Inactive. Does this mean anything?
Computer is a Dell Inspiron 620 running Windows 7 Home Premium
I move to new house recently and found out that my new house doesn't have wireless or WiFi connection. I have Canon MP560 printer that need WIFi connection and I couldn't find out how to connect it to my computer. How to connect it to computer without using wireless connection?
My Canon MP495 3-in-1 inkjet XPS printer is connected through my mother's computer, and up until a few days ago I was able to print from it through our Home network. My mother can still print from it directly, so it is not a hardware issue. On my computer when I go to print, underneath the printer selection it says server offline. I have checked both computers and they are both on the Home network with all sharing options on. I can see her media and documents from my computer and she can see mine vise-versa. When I open the Network and Sharing Center and view the full network map, my mother's computer runs to a question mark then to the router, while mine is shown to be fine. When you click on the router within the map it brings up a page saying "Important Update. To avoid a conflict with your Internet Service Provider, your router's IP address has been updated to 10.0.0.1. You must now update the IP addresses in your router's configuration settings for each relevant service, such as port forwarding and IP address reservation." I do not know if this is the problem and it is starting to go beyond my realm of understanding. Also, possibly related, we had a bad storm that did NOT knock our power out, but the internet went down and we had to reboot the modems. This occurred right before the problems began. Last piece of information: We are going through 2 routers due to lack of jacks in the house. The line goes through the first router which connects to a second one in the back of the house. Both computers are linked to the second router, and it is the second router which shows on the network map. I go to an online college and it is necessary for me to access the printer.
I can't seem to get my Canon MG5220 Wireless Printer to connect to my Belkin N150 wireless router. The printer sees the belkin wireless router network name but cannot connect to it( after entering the correct security key). It worked fine with a previous wireless router. My desktop PC is connected to the belkin router via direct ethernet, and I want to be able to access my wireless printer which is located in another room from my PC. I think I remember reading that the canon mg5220 may not support WPA2 security, but Its only a year old and would prefer not to regonfigure my router's security setting. how I can get this printer to connect to my router? Any other ways to access this printer from my PC which is connected to LAN via ethernet?
I am trying to setup the wireless printer (Canon MX436) to my ACER laptop (windows 7).
I am not very techincal and the instructions say to "Press and hold the WPS button on the access point (for about 5 seconds)." but have no idea what this means.
I know the laptop has the wi-fi turned on but when the printer searches it doesn't find it.
I cannot seem to figure out how to connect my Canon MP620 Wireless printer to my wireless router. The router is a WRT300N v 1.1 with the latest firmware upgrade. I am using WPA for security. I can connect to the printer wirelessly through my neighbor's open system so it has something to do with security I suspect. I have enabled the AP feature and disabled it to see if that is an issue. That has not changed anything. I have looked at other posts with HP printer issues and access point posts but none of those solutions have worked. The Canon gives me an option to use the WPA, WPA2 and WEP?
I want to be able to connect my Canon MX700 printer via ethernet cable to my Linksys Router - WRT54G2, with the ultimate goal of having only the printer and router on, and able to print wirelessly from my iPad, MacBook and/or iPhone.

The company I work for has a small network and it has a windows 2000 server. When the Canon iRC 2880 printer is connected the server gives a error saying that a duplicate name exits in the network. I tried changing the IP address as well. When I changed the IP address of the printer the duplicate IP address moved the new IP address.
I have an Canon MP 530 that works great for my home office network, but right now it's being shared off one of my PCs. I would like to network it like my HP LaserJet P2055dn, but not just printing, also fax and scan (via Adobe Acrobat Pro). Does this product really exist.
About two years ago I bought a Linksys device that turned out to be a $100 mistake, but now I'm really needing this sharing functionality.
I am trying to setup a network for my mother. They have 3 laptops and a Canon MX330 Printer. I am using an aris wireless modem, all pc's are connected wirelessly to the modem successfully. The printer only has a USB connection from it, so I purchased a Belkin router with wireless and USB.When I connect the USB to the belkin, the only way to print is by using one pc always connected. I want to be able to print from any laptop without having one remain "on." When I use any pc and try to add a printer it is NOT found on the network.
Have a Canon MP495 (wirelessconnection) whiich worked until I changed internet provider, It was saying printer not respondingand now it's saying printer offline. It won't work with usb connection either. Tried reinstalling it but still nothing..
Have a Canon MG6120 wireless multifunction printer. I rarely print anything from my laptop, but wanted to do that today. What I get is an error message that the printer is offline -- which it isn't; it's on. I tried going thru the setup on the printer, re-entering the SSID, and it said it was connected. Still same error that it's offline.
About a month ago, I did change the name of my router, but it never cause a problem with printing from my desktop, which I can still do. It's just the laptop that gets the "offline" error. What do I need to do to make the laptop recognize that the printer is on?
I am sharing a canon mf4350d printer installed on a vista home premium edition computer. I am trying to access it on an imac using osx 10.6.8. Below are the steps I have taken so far: 1. On vista machine in the control panel I have checked off the "share this printer" box in the printers properties. 2. In the registry of the Vista machine I have changed the value of lmcompatibilitylevel from 3 to 1 and then rebooted. 3. On the Imac in system preferences I opened "Print and Fax" and clicked "+" to add a printer. 4. I clicked on the "IP" button and set the "Protocol" to "Line Printer Daemon - LPD"; in the "Address" field I entered the IP address of the vista machine; In the "Print Using" I set to "Generic PCL Laser Printer". When I try and print it can't connect to the printer and it does not print.
We purchased a new printer which is running on a network where one computer is running Windows 7 and the other Windows XP. The printer cable is connected to the Windows 7 computer. The print function works fine on the Windows 7 but doesn't work on Windows XP. Asking me for a "printer name" and I don't know what to put in that option. When I go to printers and faxes I click on each of the options under shared printers and it still asks for "printer name"?
I just bought a canon pixmaMG6120 wireless printer...hooked it up to our wireless network (via a netgear wg624v3 wireless router). pritner recognizes the network, can sign into the network and has an IP in they systems setting. i can print to it via my iphone and ipad (all on the same wireless network).my HP dv6 laptop doesnt recognize a printer is on the network though. i've tried using the included cd, tried doing it via IP address, tried taking down all the firewalls, and nothing seems to work.
