I have tried ever driver suggested on every message board I have read and went to realtek's website as well as toshiba's and I cannot find this driver. I had to reload Vista and for some reason the driver for the ethernet controller is non-existent.
View 3 RepliesI have a Toshiba satellite L305D-S5900. It will recognize and connect to wifi networks at starbucks, libraries, etc. but I just got cable internet at my house. Set up the modem (standard motorola cable modem) and router (Netgear Wireless-N 300, WNR2000) correctly and they are working fine on my girlfriends laptop and ipod touch but my computer will not connect to the internet.When I try to connect it pulls up the network and says that it successfully connects but there is no blue dot on the icon that shows a real internet connection. If I pull up the network/sharing center then it shows Local Only access and says I am connected to the network, but not the internet.
I've tried all of the troubleshooting things that the system goes through and even reset the IP addresses to match the router and still nothing.
I just removed some viruses from a laptop and I also did a system restore on it because it wouldn't start up right. Now I can't connect to the internet on it. I have a desktop and four other laptops that are connecting fine. I can't connect with Ethernet or wireless. It just says identifying and when I run a troubleshoot it say "Windows could not automatically detect this network's proxy settings". I have already try many things, disabling and enabling adapter, uninstalling it, downloading drivers, and I try some cmd stuff that I found looking around, but nothing is working. I'll take any suggest gladly and retry stuff I have tried already. It is a Toshiba satellite L305D-S5974 with windows 7 home premium. If you need anymore info on it just ask.

I can connect to my wireless with my cellphone, so it might be a problem with the laptop.And I can connect to the internet with the cable. It's just the wireless that doesn't work.

I cannot get it to find any wireless connections within my range and I am absolutely certain there is more then 5 hotspots within my vicinity, so it has nothing to do with my internet/modem. As well as that other laptops in the family are running perfectly.
I have tried many things including:
- System restore
- Uninstalling, installing the driver
- Restored the laptop back to factory settings ( )
- And most of the solutions within these forums

Anyway, I got a new CD for Windows 7 which was burned however, And once installed, I saw I couldn't find any wireless networks at all. It's like as if it's one of those old classic computers that didn't have wireless. So I bought a Windows 7 CD key online from my iPad. But I couldn't use the product key without Internet, so I did the activate by phone thing. After that it said windows has been successfully activated. Which I don't believe it has anyway. Could any of that possibly be related to my problem of not finding any wireless connections? View 14 Replies View RelatedI am using Toshiba Satellite L305D-S5895, with Windows 7 Home Premium.My laptop has been running beautifully since I updated from Windows Vista to Windows 7 Home Premium in Fall 2009. However, today the laptop has not been connecting to the wi-fi. It could not read the Atheros wireless card built into the laptop, and the all the network settings showed was the Ethernet adapter (realtek). I tried restarting and shutting down the laptop but it still did not read the wireless card (though the wireless light on the laptop was on, indicating that the wireless is on).
Then, after 4 hours of leaving the laptop shut down, the wireless started again. However, a half hour later it was down again, with the same problems already stated. The light was on and the card was not read. During my time online, I did manage to download the driver update from Toshiba website (Atheros Wireless LAN Driver for Windows 7 (32/64). I tried to install it but I received error messages, including: I tried again but I still received this message, but with a different file: I have no Ethernet connectivity and I need to use the wi-fi.

View 1 Replies View Relatedi recently dual booted to 32bit to run a video game and on my 64 bit i have 2 network drivers working 1 of them which works on my 32 bit is a DW1525 WLAN PCIe Card and that works fine on both systems. now on the 32 bit it says ethernet controller and i try to update it and it says cannot find anything.. is there a way i can just move the driver from 64bit to 32bit.. what should i do?also when on 64bit the ethernet controller name is broadcom netlink gigabit ethernet

I know the basics about networks, since I run the networks in the businnes I'm working... But this computer is strange... Once I connect the modem and the drivers are installed the computer shows that it has a internet connection, and I can PING websites in the CMD, but entering any browser programm, I can't browse and it doesn't conecct to Itunes store if I enter Itunes; which means that the internect conection isn't complete or something I have tried EVERYTHING but haven't been able to do anything! I tried to get on the internet in an airplane and I couldn't connect. All of these wireless connections are working fine and no other computer seems to have the same issue. whenever i try to connect to a network in range or my home network, it says that i only have limited connectvity. View 9 Replies View Relatedi have a home network my dell netbook and dell xps desktop are connected to it, both are able to connect to the internet, my toshiba satellite for some reason won't connect. i think the wifi radio isn't working because there is an icon on the front of the lapptop with a picture of a wifi transmitter, and the amber light is lit for that. my router won't recognize it and neither will the other computers. it was working just fine to connect to the internet before i set the network up with the other two computers. the toshiba is the only one that has windows 7 btw, the others one has vista and one has xp. don't know if this has anything to do with it, but im stumped. i trtied to do it manually, but the router keeps saying the mac address is invalid, i get that from ip config.

Checking Fn > F8 below main icon (with an antena ) do not show up other four icons below, like they suppose to do. So I'm not even able to try to turn it on. Restarting doesn't do at all. Pushing Wi-fi switch, above the keybord, doesn't even show On/of icon.
