Toshiba L305d-s5895 Not Connecting To Wifi Nor Reading Adapter

I am using Toshiba Satellite L305D-S5895, with Windows 7 Home Premium.My laptop has been running beautifully since I updated from Windows Vista to Windows 7 Home Premium in Fall 2009. However, today the laptop has not been connecting to the wi-fi. It could not read the Atheros wireless card built into the laptop, and the all the network settings showed was the Ethernet adapter (realtek). I tried restarting and shutting down the laptop but it still did not read the wireless card (though the wireless light on the laptop was on, indicating that the wireless is on).
Then, after 4 hours of leaving the laptop shut down, the wireless started again. However, a half hour later it was down again, with the same problems already stated. The light was on and the card was not read. During my time online, I did manage to download the driver update from Toshiba website (Atheros Wireless LAN Driver for Windows 7 (32/64). I tried to install it but I received error messages, including: I tried again but I still received this message, but with a different file: I have no Ethernet connectivity and I need to use the wi-fi.

I have a Toshiba satellite L305D-S5900. It will recognize and connect to wifi networks at starbucks, libraries, etc. but I just got cable internet at my house. Set up the modem (standard motorola cable modem) and router (Netgear Wireless-N 300, WNR2000) correctly and they are working fine on my girlfriends laptop and ipod touch but my computer will not connect to the internet.When I try to connect it pulls up the network and says that it successfully connects but there is no blue dot on the icon that shows a real internet connection. If I pull up the network/sharing center then it shows Local Only access and says I am connected to the network, but not the internet.
I've tried all of the troubleshooting things that the system goes through and even reset the IP addresses to match the router and still nothing.

I just removed some viruses from a laptop and I also did a system restore on it because it wouldn't start up right. Now I can't connect to the internet on it. I have a desktop and four other laptops that are connecting fine. I can't connect with Ethernet or wireless. It just says identifying and when I run a troubleshoot it say "Windows could not automatically detect this network's proxy settings". I have already try many things, disabling and enabling adapter, uninstalling it, downloading drivers, and I try some cmd stuff that I found looking around, but nothing is working. I'll take any suggest gladly and retry stuff I have tried already. It is a Toshiba satellite L305D-S5974 with windows 7 home premium. If you need anymore info on it just ask.

I have tried ever driver suggested on every message board I have read and went to realtek's website as well as toshiba's and I cannot find this driver. I had to reload Vista and for some reason the driver for the ethernet controller is non-existent.

I have recently purchased an ASUS PCE-N13 wireless adapter, and I cannot get it to work for the life of me! I have tried installing the driver from the disk, however, when I try and look it up under device manager, I go to the "Other Devices" section as instructed and it just says "Unknown Device" instead of what it is supposed to say according to the manual. I have tried installing the Ralink driver, however I don't know if that was done correctly or not. I have gone through my BIOS and enabled the PCI slots power, so it isn't that.

My laptop is an ACER Aspire 4750z. I installed Ubuntu version 12 for a change, then I got fed up with it and installed Windows 7 back. Before installing Ubuntu my wireless network adapter used to connect to wifi, now after reinstalling windows 7 it wont connect to WiFi. I have a Toshiba A350 satellite notebook. The wireless adapter was working fine, then I installed Windows 7. Now the adapter wont turn on. I've searched forums, and followed several threads to no avail.The wireless switch is on, but there is no LED. Fn+F8 does nothing. I have restarted and reset the BIOS to defaults.I have disabled Internet protocol 6.All of these have made no difference. my wireless connection has stopped working and won't repair itself.I have uninstalled it and rebooted my laptop (as suggested in a previous thread) but it's still not working. I have a Toshiba Satallite Pro L300 laptop.I went to the Toshiba site to find a download for the wireless adaptor but couldn't even find my model number on their system. I can get on the internet by plugging directly to the modem, and my internet provider suggests it must be the adaptor. I'm too scared to randomly download stuff from internet in case it is rubbish and mucks up my computer.

My daughter has a Tobisha laptop with Windows 7 working off a cable modem wireless thru a Linksys Cisco router. It all has been working fine for months until yesterday she cannot connect to router. I unplugged router and modem for a minute, replugged modem then router back in and laptop still will not connect to router. I can connect to internet if don't use router and connect from modem to laptop. I do not think anything is wrong with her router or any plug-in connections because I have no problem connecting to her router with my own laptop or my wifes laptop! I have a Dell ( VISTA ) and a Dell ( XP ). I'm thinking maybe wirless card in my daughter's Tobisha could be the problem?

I am using a toshiba satellite and have accessed the router through another computer and was able to access the internet. I am currently using the ipad to post.At first when i choose my internet connection, it will automativally try and detect the network type, then tell me that "windows is unable to connect to the selected network". I have read other user posts and went to the wireless properties and changed the network authentication to shared and unclicked the "key index". Now, when i click on my wireless network it will automatically ask me to enter my network key. But after i do that, all it does is wait a few seconds and close that dialog box without connecting me.[code]

I have toshiba c600 a259 with core i3 processor. the laptop is great but it has one big problem with the network wireless card.. everytime i try to connect to my home wireless network the computer freeze and i have to press the power button to turn it off. however i tried connecting to another network somewhere else and it worked fine. There is nothing wrong with the wireless network router because other laptops can connect to this network. my toshiba also can connect to interrnet if i plugged it directly to the router. Yesterday I was on my toshiba satelite L550-OCD and the wireless wasn't working then it started working again. I closed my laptop and when I went back to it it wasn't working again and hasn't since. It says there's no wireless connection to plug in Ethernet cable now I have tried Fn F8 and it doesn't do anything. So I went into my toshiba assist and opened optimize. Then toshiba hardware settings and clicked LAN and it says it's turned on. But when I click radar it shows it is not connected and the light is off.

I can't turn WI-FI on in my Toshiba A 665, Win 7. At the biginning worked good ,than vanished. Checking Fn > F8 below main icon (with an antena ) do not show up other four icons below, like they suppose to do. So I'm not even able to try to turn it on. Restarting doesn't do at all. Pushing Wi-fi switch, above the keybord, doesn't even show On/of icon.

I have a Toshiba portage and I am unable to connect to my wireless network at home. All my roommates can and two days ago I could! I haven't changed anything and none of my roommates or landlord has done anything. When I try to "diagnose" the problem I get the notice that there is a problem with the adapter. I have tried disabling everything and restarting it. The wireless switch is on. The security info is all correct and we have tried the restarting of the router.

We have Wireless connection facility in our collage. All my friends can access to wireless but I cannot. How to connect to wi fi in my laptop.I tried to power on the wireless by pressing FN+F8 together but at network connection it displays as No connection is available.Secondly I checked the device manager and under Network adapters there is only three driver Bluetooth Device (Personal Area Network), Bluetooth Device (RFCOMM Protocol TSI) and Realtek PCIe FE Family Controlleer are working.I also checked the driver of this PC and found one folder named WLAN_B and even did the setup but still not working. I am using windows 7 Professional and 64 bit of OS.

I have a Toshiba Satellite p505-S8980 (laptop), I have had it for a little more than a year,and I have had no issues with it. Unfortunately, the first issue has appeared. I left my home to spend the weekend with my family, and now the laptop won't even detect the Wifi lan adaptor. Also The Wifi switch no longer illuminates, to acknowledge that it is on.
