I have followed most similar youtube instructions to turn my Toshiba Laptop into a hotspot (router). It seems to show the SSID I made as OK in the network but no WiFi appliance can find it. I am using USB Wireless Broadband Internet .

I closed my laptop and when I went back to it it wasn't working again and hasn't since. It says there's no wireless connection to plug in Ethernet cable now I have tried Fn F8 and it doesn't do anything. So I went into my toshiba assist and opened optimize. Then toshiba hardware settings and clicked LAN and it says it's turned on. But when I click radar it shows it is not connected and the light is off.

The toshiba laptop worked just fine for me, never disconnect, but the MSi started to act up since I got this router. Sometimes it disconnect from the router every 5 mins, it can still detect the network, but then I have to troubleshoot it to reset the adapter if I want to reconnect it. The problem I got from the troubleshoot is " Problems with adapter or access point". Before I bought this router for the current cable service, I had a DSL service, my laptops can connect wirelessly to the DSL modem, without router and they worked just fine, so I don't know if the problem is from the router or the laptop.I searched for solutions everywhere on the internet, yet they are the same : update firmware, drivers,.I even reinstalled windows so many times yet it remains the same.

I reset router, set the router's name to wife's laptop, created a password. when i log on to wife's laptop, i can see the connection but when i click connect i get nic card disabled. i checked the card and it is not showing as being disabled. i am conncected via my desktop to the router and i connect fine. laptop is toshiba w/ win 7 home 64 bit. i have tried several ways to connect but still get network cable disconnected.

It all has been working fine for months until yesterday she cannot connect to router. I unplugged router and modem for a minute, replugged modem then router back in and laptop still will not connect to router. I can connect to internet if don't use router and connect from modem to laptop. I do not think anything is wrong with her router or any plug-in connections because I have no problem connecting to her router with my own laptop or my wifes laptop! I have a Dell ( VISTA ) and a Dell ( XP ). I'm thinking maybe wirless card in my daughter's Tobisha could be the problem?

The first is a Linksys WRT350N; the second is a Linksys WRT54G. I have the G router connected as an access point so that I can reserve the N router for the N devices and achieve N speeds.N devices:Toshiba laptop; network adapter is Intel 4965AGN.Toshiba laptop; network adapter is Atheros AR5008XLexmark Wireless printerRouter settings:WRT350N: Security Mode WPA2 Personal; Encryption AES; Network Mode N-only; Radio Band 40MHz.WRT54G: Security Mode WPA Personal; Encryption AES; Network Mode MixedThe best I can recall, I set the WRT54G to WPA Personal instead of WPA2 Personal because one of the G-compliant devices did not list the WPA2 Personal setting -- but this is based on memory only.To reserve the WRT350N for the N devices and achieve N speeds, I set the Wireless Mode to N-only and Radio Band to 40MHz., and each router broadcasts its own unique SSID. Once I set everything up, I saw a substantial increase in the link speed reported by the Toshiba Connectivity Doctor (I realize there are issues about taking these numbers at face value, but let me continue). The Toshiba Connectivity Doctor reported WRT350N link speed at 130 Mbps and everything appeared to be working well.PROBLEMUntil recently, no problems were apparent; the Toshiba Connectivity Doctor indicated the two laptops connected to the WRT350N at 130 Mbps, the printer connected to and printed via the WRT350N, and all G devices connected through the WRT54G. Recently, however, network performance declined and the Toshiba Connectivity Doctor indicated erratic link speeds ranging from 1 Mbps to 130 Mbps.I found through a little research that my quest to reserve the WRT350N router for N devices lacked one element: according to Linksys info for the router, setting the N Transmission Rate to anything other than Auto results in denying access to B/G clients.I set the N Transmission Rate to 270 Mbps (the highest setting). The Linksys printer works fine and the Toshiba Connectivity Doctor indicates a solid 130 Mbps link speed for the Toshiba laptop with the Intel 4965AGN adapter card.The other Toshiba (with the Atheros AR5008X adapter card), however, is now only able to connect to the WRT54G (the Toshiba Connectivity Doctor indicates a solid link speed of 54 Mbps to the G SSID). If I reset the WRT350N N Transmission Rate to Auto, the Toshiba with the Atheros card can once again connect to the N Router -- but the erratic link speeds and the network degradation returns also.I have verified that the Atheros AR5008X network adapter is N-compliant. There aren't many settings on the Atheros AR5008X adapter card configuration, but I can find no documentation on the Internet for this card.As far as I can determine, all firmware is up to date for both routers and all drivers are up to date for both adapter cards.I'd love to know what changed in the first place, but I'm more concerned with fixing this problem. How I can get the Atheros adapter card to connect to the WRT350N with the N Transmission Rate set to something other than Auto?

My Toshiba laptop can't get connected to the wireless ADSL modem router TD-W8960N. I have 4 different laptops and one desktop, all connected to the router very well, only the Toshiba cannot get on Internet. I can connect to the wireless network on the laptop, but it shows limited access.
How do I find my network security key? I had to remove my Toshiba Laptop (Win 7 OS) from my home network because I kept having to troubleshoot in order to connect to the network. My Ethernet connection works fine.IPCONFIG doesn't seem to recognize the card.I have a good strong signal and the Trendnet dongle works well on another machine.

I am staying with some friends for the summer in a rural area-they no longer have Internet service ( Comcast modem is still in basement--are NOT going to reactivate service). The closest WiFi spot is a mile walk away ( Library at a State College). Every day all I get is frustrated as I try and try to access any wireless networks--Linksys is what keeps coming up--but says I am too far away from access point. The "local computer whiz" told me to purchase a Wireless Card-which I will gladly do IF it will enable me to access wireless networks from home. I can't get it to connect to my home wifi--it just says "Can't connect to this network" and nothing else. I did unplug and plug back in the router (does that count as resetting?) and it didn't change anything. I just went to the library and it connected to that wifi without a problem. While there I uninstalled all Norton security products and installed AVG Free 2013. Still not working.
