I have a Toshiba Laptop (M5) that will not connect to the internet. It was infected with something that I cleaned with Superantispyware but it will now not connect to the internet. It shows that it is connected both by wireless and wired but when I open Internet Explorer it cannot find the webpage. It is trying to open my homepage (www.google.co.uk).

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just got a new Toshiba Satellite C855D-S5357. It's running Windows 8. I can't get it to connect to my home wifi--it just says "Can't connect to this network" and nothing else. I did unplug and plug back in the router (does that count as resetting?) and it didn't change anything. I just went to the library and it connected to that wifi without a problem. While there I uninstalled all Norton security products and installed AVG Free 2013. Still not working.

I've owned it for over a year now without any difficulties, but it's suddenly unable to access the internet. The wireless icon in the tray shows that it's connected to the router (a Netgear N300), but that it has no internet access. I ran the Network Troubleshooter and received the message: "Your computer is correctly configured but the device or resource (www.microsoft.com) is not responding."
I thought that it may have been a problem with the cable modem (a Motorola SB5101) or with my ISP (Comcast), but I found that the Wi-Fi was working just fine on my cellphone.I tried connecting the laptop via an ethernet cable (to both the router and the modem), but it still wouldn't work. I tried turning everything off and then on again, and still nothing.I then started the computer in Safe Mode with Networking. In this mode, it WAS able to connect to the internet. I don't know what exactly this means, or where to go from here.
I have a Toshiba Satellite L745, just a few days ago it stopped connecting to the Internet it still connects to the network but not the Internet. It's done this before but normally all I have to do is reset the router. I have tried everything I know ( which being a teenage girl isn't much) and nothing seems to be working. Also as far as I know the computer does not and has never had any problems with malware/viruses n' that stuff.

I have a desktop and four other laptops that are connecting fine. I can't connect with Ethernet or wireless. It just says identifying and when I run a troubleshoot it say "Windows could not automatically detect this network's proxy settings". I have already try many things, disabling and enabling adapter, uninstalling it, downloading drivers, and I try some cmd stuff that I found looking around, but nothing is working. Uninstalled the program and now none of the web browsers will connect to internet (have IE, Chrome, and Firefox).I shut down Avast and Windows Firewall, but had no effect. The first is a Linksys WRT350N; the second is a Linksys WRT54G. I have the G router connected as an access point so that I can reserve the N router for the N devices and achieve N speeds.N devices:Toshiba laptop; network adapter is Intel 4965AGN.Toshiba laptop; network adapter is Atheros AR5008XLexmark Wireless printerRouter settings:WRT350N: Security Mode WPA2 Personal; Encryption AES; Network Mode N-only; Radio Band 40MHz.WRT54G: Security Mode WPA Personal; Encryption AES; Network Mode MixedThe best I can recall, I set the WRT54G to WPA Personal instead of WPA2 Personal because one of the G-compliant devices did not list the WPA2 Personal setting -- but this is based on memory only.To reserve the WRT350N for the N devices and achieve N speeds, I set the Wireless Mode to N-only and Radio Band to 40MHz., and each router broadcasts its own unique SSID. If I reset the WRT350N N Transmission Rate to Auto, the Toshiba with the Atheros card can once again connect to the N Router -- but the erratic link speeds and the network degradation returns also.I have verified that the Atheros AR5008X network adapter is N-compliant. There aren't many settings on the Atheros AR5008X adapter card configuration, but I can find no documentation on the Internet for this card.As far as I can determine, all firmware is up to date for both routers and all drivers are up to date for both adapter cards.I'd love to know what changed in the first place, but I'm more concerned with fixing this problem. I am able to access the internet fine with two Dell laptops with XP, and the Wii to play Netfix movies. The Toshiba computer with Vista says it is connected, but I can't access the internet. When I change the network setting to unsecured I can access the network fine. The Toshiba laptop is set to WPA2-PSK when it does not access network successfully.

I know the basics about networks, since I run the networks in the businnes I'm working... But this computer is strange... Once I connect the modem and the drivers are installed the computer shows that it has a internet connection, and I can PING websites in the CMD, but entering any browser programm, I can't browse and it doesn't conecct to Itunes store if I enter Itunes; which means that the internect conection isn't complete or something I have tried EVERYTHING but haven't been able to do anything! I can't get any other proof that the computer is connected to the internet than to ping adresses!
