Okay so I have been troubleshooting my husband's toshiba laptop. Its only a couple years old, has windows vista, and works fine other than it wont' connect to the internet wirelessly. I looked at the adapter card and it says there are no issues and it will connect via ethernet, I just need it to connect wirelessly for school. I would try my wireless USB adapter but is in storage in Texas.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI received a new hard drive along with recovery discs from dell yesterday. They told me the new drive would be blank and I would have to run the discs. Not a problem. Installed the OS along with the drivers that had check marks next to them.
Today I plug in my home internet and it won't work. Unplug it and turn the wireless back on and it gets online just fine.
Toshiba laptop has been connecting fine to internet but now its not, i have wired it up to router and all im getting is local access my other laptop is working fine.

I can't get it to connect to my home wifi--it just says "Can't connect to this network" and nothing else. I did unplug and plug back in the router (does that count as resetting?) and it didn't change anything. I just went to the library and it connected to that wifi without a problem. While there I uninstalled all Norton security products and installed AVG Free 2013. Still not working.

I've owned it for over a year now without any difficulties, but it's suddenly unable to access the internet. The wireless icon in the tray shows that it's connected to the router (a Netgear N300), but that it has no internet access. I ran the Network Troubleshooter and received the message: "Your computer is correctly configured but the device or resource (www.microsoft.com) is not responding."
I thought that it may have been a problem with the cable modem (a Motorola SB5101) or with my ISP (Comcast), but I found that the Wi-Fi was working just fine on my cellphone.I tried connecting the laptop via an ethernet cable (to both the router and the modem), but it still wouldn't work. I tried turning everything off and then on again, and still nothing.I then started the computer in Safe Mode with Networking. In this mode, it WAS able to connect to the internet. I don't know what exactly this means, or where to go from here.
I have a Toshiba Satellite L745, just a few days ago it stopped connecting to the Internet it still connects to the network but not the Internet. It's done this before but normally all I have to do is reset the router. I have tried everything I know ( which being a teenage girl isn't much) and nothing seems to be working. Also as far as I know the computer does not and has never had any problems with malware/viruses n' that stuff.

Well, it does connect - but it calls it "unidentified" and despite my many attempts it just won't allow me access to the internet. The two other laptops in the house are connected to it fine though. I tried connecting to my neighbour's wireless router, and it worked no problem, including the internet! I bought an ethernet cable earlier, which successfully connected my laptop to the internet. (Although it said I was connected to a homenetwork as well as my Talk Talk router, which it proceeds to call "unidentified" and is restricted to local access). However, I really need it to work wirelessly. I have not been able to use the laptop yet as the ethernet cable does not allow me to leave the router!

I have a desktop and four other laptops that are connecting fine. I can't connect with Ethernet or wireless. It just says identifying and when I run a troubleshoot it say "Windows could not automatically detect this network's proxy settings". I have already try many things, disabling and enabling adapter, uninstalling it, downloading drivers, and I try some cmd stuff that I found looking around, but nothing is working. It will not connect to the internet at a Bloodbank I visit twice a week. It will connect to their wireless network, and gets a strong signal, but no internet. Other people at this facility seen to have no problem connecting to the internet. I tried downloading updated drivers for my wireless card, but it said I already had the latest drivers. I have turned off my firewall and changed to the lowest security settings. I don't know what to do.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm having a big problem with my connectivity. I can connect to the internet (a BT Home Hub router) using my ethernet cable but not using wireless. My computer is searching and finding wireless networks, but when I try to connect to my router, it says limited access/connectivity.
I haven't used my computer in quite a long time (7 months) as it stopped working and is miraculously working again now (huzzah!) but the wireless does not, when it was perfect previously.

The problem is I cannot get wife's laptop to connect to router. i had to reset router due to some connectivity problem. I reset router, set the router's name to wife's laptop, created a password. when i log on to wife's laptop, i can see the connection but when i click connect i get nic card disabled. i checked the card and it is not showing as being disabled. i am conncected via my desktop to the router and i connect fine. laptop is toshiba w/ win 7 home 64 bit. i have tried several ways to connect but still get network cable disconnected.

I took the laptop to a pc repair shop and it connected wirelessly there withouto a problem; I also took it to Best Buy and was able to connect wirelessly there as well).
