View 1 RepliesI have a Dell desktop with Windows 7, a Dell laptop with Windows XP & a Toshiba Satellite laptop with Windows 7. I bought a new router for faster internet speed - Netgear N600. I now have internet on the two laptops, the Kindle Fire HD & my Iphone. I cannot access the internet on the desktop. It shows that I am connected to an unidentified network but I can't get online. The techs I talked to said it's a problem with my computer but I didn't have that problem before.

Everything was working fine up until last night, and now I can't seem to connect to anything for more than a couple seconds before it disconnects me again. I should also note that my phone, my iPad, my laptop, and my other PC connect just fine still.

I recently put in a Netgear firewall, configured it, its running no problem. Then I setup a new Netgear N600 wireless router, configured it, gave it a static IP, connected to it, works like a charm. Thing is, when I try to access the web gui I receive nothing.. Is the Netgear firewall taking priority or something? I went directly connected to the netgear wifi router and double checked to make sure that there was no settings restricting administration from wifi users, etc..

They both do the same thing.If i connect my HTC hero and start internet sharing, it works very well, and is stable. My ethernet works fine as well. It is like my computer is immune to PCI cards?I have tried with different wifi APs now, but its still the same.I have a zyxel adsl modem, and a linksys wifi AP hooked up to that. I noticed, that when my desktop is connected, the zyxel will get some kind of overflow from the linksys. It is almost as if my computer itself is blocking the adapter.I spoke to an On Networks rep for over two hours and he tried everything from reinstalling to rebooting and tried three different drivers. He was from a different country and when I told him what the troubleshooter said he would not deviate from the script they give them 2 hours and he was not even close. It saw the device but it wouldn't even blink.Acers website nor customer service will assist me because my warranty is expired. They want me to send the computer back but I have a feeling it is an easy fix I just don't know enough about computers to say oh just uncheckmark this box.I know in the past I used wifi but switched to an ethernet cable.

The TV finds our wireless router name, but when we try to finally connect wirelessly it gives the following message: TV wi-fi found, local access failed and network access failed. The router we have is a Netgear PK500.
On the TV we have three differant ways for the tv to locate the router they are by scanning, the WPS button and by entering the WPS pin. We've tried all three and got the above message.

I am running an i7 MSI gt683 with windows 7 with an Intel Centrino Wirelss-N 130. My home wifi connection runs off of comcast on a netgear router, and the wireless connection works on every single device in the house except for my laptop. I can run my ps3, my wii, we have an ipad, all our phones can connect and we have another laptop that connects with no issue. I have updated my drivers for my wireless card to the latest, flushed the ip on my desktop that the modem is connect to a dozen times. The only way to sometimes fix it is to manually log in to my router and release/renew the ip address from there. Sometimes it will work, sometimes it won't. When it does work, it will work for about a week and then stop working for no reason at random times.The errors I keep getting are:Identifying network (which runs infinitely before cycling back to no internet connection)Connected with no internet access.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am using Toshiba Satellite L305D-S5895, with Windows 7 Home Premium.My laptop has been running beautifully since I updated from Windows Vista to Windows 7 Home Premium in Fall 2009. However, today the laptop has not been connecting to the wi-fi. It could not read the Atheros wireless card built into the laptop, and the all the network settings showed was the Ethernet adapter (realtek). I tried restarting and shutting down the laptop but it still did not read the wireless card (though the wireless light on the laptop was on, indicating that the wireless is on).
Then, after 4 hours of leaving the laptop shut down, the wireless started again. However, a half hour later it was down again, with the same problems already stated. The light was on and the card was not read. During my time online, I did manage to download the driver update from Toshiba website (Atheros Wireless LAN Driver for Windows 7 (32/64). I tried to install it but I received error messages, including: I tried again but I still received this message, but with a different file: I have no Ethernet connectivity and I need to use the wi-fi.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a home network with a Netgear N600 as my main router. I have a wirelesss HP printer that accesses fine as does Iphones and Ipad. Then I have hard wires. Off of the main router I have 3 Netgear 5 port switches. 1 switch with a line to bedroom tv and a line to family room tv. 1 Switch at family room TV which goes to Blu Ray, Direct Tv, and Xbox360. 1 switch at bedroom for Blu Ray and Direct TV. Believe it or not, this all worked. I tried to hook up a ZmodoH264 security system (the ones with four cameras, and a separate hard drive and monitor for viewing). I used one of the 4 inputs on the main Netgear router for this, and it seemed to be recognized. But, I can't access the security system mobilly, AND all my network addresses seem to have been screwed as Directv isn't working (Whole Home) and the printer stopped being recognized. However, Blu Rays are still fine. Is there a way with ipconfig to list all of my hard wired nodes? I assume wireless dont show up in a list.

View 14 Replies View RelatedIm on Windows 7 Ultimate, I have Netgear N600 and a motorola and all the lights are on but when I lose connectivity to my internet, everything looks fine light wise. My whole family connects to the wireless in my house and when the internet goes down, they too, are effected. The internet would be running for a few minutes and then sadly go down for a minute then come back up. This has been happening more and more lately and its come to a point where I'm sick and tired of trying to fix it myself. Its very aggravating to be surfing the web and one point and then seeing the oh so nice "Firefox cannot connect to your internet" screen. I play World of Warcraft, as of right now, its unplayable. I'm stressing because its just a hug hassle. The Motorola and the Netgear are fairly new and I don't seem to think that would be the problem.

I just got a Nook Color as a gift (nice huh?) I just bought my iPad2 in Jan. So now I've got Comcast cable with a Netgear N600 router and:
1 desktop Win XP sp3 plugged into router
1 desktop Win 7 usb wireless
1 HP laptop w/ Vista
2 Dell old laptops Win XP not used much
Sony PS3 not on much
iPad2 always on
Nook Color
AND a Roku always on
I think that's all. So I'm guessing all this will slow down my whole connection? My iPad is the fastest. My Nook is extremely slow. Maybe it's the B&N website? When I go to shop and even when I registered it, it says connection having trouble. I finally had to setup my account at BN with my desktop. The Nook wouldn't stay connected.

The access is labeled as Local Only, and the network is considered unidentified. Signal strength is excellent, and it reads the name of the new wireless server I created. It prompted me to enter the passphrase, which I did, and now my laptop is stuck on local only.
I tried updating my adaptor drivers but they are all up to date, and I tried to enter my adaptor into the address reservation on the router configuration page using the laptops MAC address and IP address.
Upstairs I have a Century Link modem/wireless router. My wife and I use our laptops, smart phones, and XBox 360 on the wireless network. Downstairs I have an older Dell PC that I use for my business. I have an Ethernet run from upstairs to downstairs. The Ethernet jack upstairs is near a cable outlet because we used to have cable internet. Now we have DSL and the phone jack is on the other side of the room. Here's my question... I have a Belkin N600 wireless router, is there any way I can plug it into the Ethernet port on the other side of the room, and use it like a wireless adapter? I have tried a few time to set it up as an "access point" but it doesn't seem to work. As soon as I do, I can no longer access the Belkin router to make any changes and I need to do a manual reset. can I plug my downstairs PC into the Belkin N600, and have wi-fi internet access from the wireless modem/router upstairs?
