View 2 Replies View RelatedMy desktops _usually_ connect, and then the connection will drop/go slow(14400 slow)/give that little yelow triangle on top of the wifi icon.First i had an edimax wifi PCI, now i have a trendnet wifi PCI. They both do the same thing. If i connect my HTC hero and start internet sharing, it works very well, and is stable. My ethernet works fine as well. It is like my computer is immune to PCI cards?I have tried with different wifi APs now, but its still the same.I have a zyxel adsl modem, and a linksys wifi AP hooked up to that. I noticed, that when my desktop is connected, the zyxel will get some kind of overflow from the linksys. It says "client reached max number of sessions per host" It's like my desktop is killing the network. I have tried many things. Drivers, fail safe, registry cleaner(I know), killing all unnescessary program, switching the PCI ports, but none of it seems to work.
I had my laptop running connectify (access point app) and it actually worked fine, but today it won't connect to that either.I'm going to create another partition on my harddrive, and install fresh windows 7 on that, and see if it does the same. But even if it doesn't I _want_ to find out what is causing this instabillity. When i try running the network diagnostics, it says DNS error, or that the router is fail. But my laptop works fine. Also, when doing speed tests, my laptop gets normal speeds, and my desktop is VERY slow DL, but normal UL ?In speed tests my desktop is very slow, but stable, but during the test, my laptop will first go like 2 mb/s - 3mb/s DL and suddently BURST up to like 64 mb/s although i only have 10 mbit line? It's like its buffering or something. Very weird behaviour, but working fine. And no, i do not have torrent programs or whatever running. Some says that i shout try and change wifi channel and bands, and avoid "mixed" mode, but none of it works. Always the same problem.ATM. my computer can't connect to any wifi at all. It keeps having the yellow triangle.
i looked around and couldnt find a proper answer for me, i am trying to get wifi before i build my shuttle sz77r5 case, any mini pcie wifi card to use. Secondly does a mini pcie wifi NEED antennas to work (how come laptops which use these cards dont need antennas), as there are no holes for the connections in the back of the case for antennas.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI got a Studio 1535 Laptop which comes with a Broadcom WiFi card that is named "Dell Wireless 1397 WLAN Mini-Card" in the Hardware Manager.
I tried to connect to my ZyXel WiFi router but though i had it all configured right, Windows would always come up with "you entered the wrong key". After playin around for some time i figured out that everything just works fine when i switched my router from WPA-PSK to WPA2-PSK. My router features both WPA-PSK and WPA2-PSK but since my other PC does only support WPA-PSK the router is set to that and i want it to stay that way. I just don't want to buy new hardware for all my other computers.
So is this WiFi card strictly incompatible with WPA-PSK? Does'nt make any sense to me because WPA2 works just fine! Normally they are downwards compatible aren't they? (Moreover, when setting up a connection i can choose WPA-PSK from the dropdown menu.
Just purchased an Asus K532-BBR9 laptop. Everything works fine, except on college campus the internet is very slow, and disconnects every few minutes. My fellow students laptops do not seem to have this problem.I figured it may be a driver issue, so I am trying to update everything.Under Network Adapters in Device Manager. The Microsoft Virtual WiFI Miniport Adapter is not up to date when I do a driver update scan. Then it says "Windows can't verify the publisher of this driver software.." with options to install anyways.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have new Inspiron 1720 running Vista with the Dell wireless 1390 WLAN mini-card. I will be connected to the wireless network just fine, but it will then disconnect. My problem is I cannot re-connect to it without having to do a total restart. I go to the place to refresh the list, and it finds nothing. I ask it to repair the network, and it can't becasue it cannot find a network. I have at least 4 other networks in the area that I can normally see, and none appear when I hit the refresh button. But I totally restart the system, and everything works fine again (until it drops again).

I've tried everything to fix it.It's a D-Link DWA-525 802.11n Wireless PCI netowrk adapter. On device manager it just says 802.11 Wireless LAN Card with a yellow exclamation next to it. And when I check what the error is, it's either error 31 or 52 at different times, depending what I've tried to do to fix it.I tried downloading the driver for it off the D-Link website, nothing happens at all when I install it. I tried taking it out of my computer and plugging it in. I tried enabling it and disabling it on device manager.I noticed one thing, when it's in my computer the green light at the back that says activity next to it isn't on.

Which driver(s) I need to download?
I have owned this laptop since 2005. It has been excellent so far and I would very much like to keep using it until it finally gives up.
So I just got this Linksys E1500 wireless N router in hopes that I would get a better signal within my room as opposed to my older router. Unfortunately, nothing has changed, in fact I think I'm getting weaker signals. My previous router was a D-Link WBR-2310. I went to speed test.net and tested 3 variables. My wifi on my desktop in my room, my wifi when right next to a router on my laptop, and my wifi using my neighbors wifi in my room.
What is the point of this new wireless N router, when it can't beat a G router older model in reach? And why does is have a 0.50 mb d/l speed but a 3.6 upload speed?
Cant' seem to find any updated drivers for this card. Just installed new AP's supporting wireless 'n', and can't seem to get the speeds past 54MBS. AP's are configured properly. Under the setting in device manager I can see the rate setting for 802.11(b/g), but not n. If this card is not 'n' compatiable why state that it is. Hoping to get an updated driver . My version is 5.10.235.12 1/7/2011.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI recently entered the realm of wireless networking for my desktops and was able to connect my personal desktop successfully. Unfortunately, the other desktop I really need to make wireless is having difficulties. The computer never shows the message that a new device is discovered/installed. The adapter shows up under hardware devices and functioning properly but this is not the case. I installed the driver from the included CD but when I use Windows to troubleshoot, it says that the driver and adapter aren't working. When trying to set up a new network, I get a grayed-out wireless icon in the system tray and can't proceed. I disabled the firewall and antivirus so I could start over, uninstalling the driver, restarting and installing again.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an Inspiron 8600 with a Dell wireless 1350 WLAN mini card. It operated perfectly with a Belkin 54G router but when we changed to a Plusnet Thomson Gateway router I started to lose the signal for about 20 seconds every few minutes. I complained to Plusnet who replaced the router. I have never been able to connect wirelessly since installing this piece of junk. After trying for three solid days I contacted a technician at Plusnet who tried all the usual tricks, even taking over full control of my laptop, without success. He is going to contact Thomson to see if there are any compatibility problems with the Dell 1350 adapter as there are known ones with other Dell adapters.
I suggest Plusnet should not supply this router and further reduce their charges so that customers could supply their own trusted versions.
