I have a wifi dongle with signal enhancement on my desk top computer. I get a message that I am connected with a signal strength of 67%. However, I cannot get any website to open. The router is working for 3 other computers further away than mine. It was working but just stopped a couple of days ago. I am about 25ft away in a straight line.

So long ago i bought a Linksys by Cisco Wireless-G Notebook Adapter WPC54G v.1.2 but didn't have time to set it up or use it for travelling conditions. A couple years later when i came back to check on the laptop, i noticed that i lost the setup CD. So i went on the Linksys website and looked for the driver the download. On the back of the Adapter(card) it says it is version 1.2. But this version is unavailable on the Linksys Website. I could only find v.1, 2,3,3.1 and 7. v.1 gives a driver of v3.1 etc... AND NOT VICE-VERSA.So first when i inserted the card into the slot , the PC didnt detect it. It only detected it rarely if i insert another driver (eg: USB..). And so a window would pop up to install but i didnt know what to do there. When i downloaded the v.1 driver from the website and installed it, it seemed not the detect the card either, it would just say searching for wireless, but that's it. It would keep searching for hours even when im next to the router.finally, only the Power led light on the card is lit up but not the "Link" led.

bought a mini usb wifi adapter for my new computer i built from monoprice. the website says all u need to do is download the drivers from realtek and install and the unit will run. ive tried to install the driver multiple times, and when i go into the devices window, it says there is no device installed for the adapter. also after attempting to install, a bubble pops up on the task bar saying that driver did not install correctly after setup completes and reboots.

As soon as the desktop is no longer trying to access the Internet, all other wireless connections work without a problem. I recently bought a Sony Bravia HD TV with wireless internet capabilities.When I try to connect to my wireless internet. The TV finds our wireless router name, but when we try to finally connect wirelessly it gives the following message: TV wi-fi found, local access failed and network access failed. The router we have is a Actiontech PK500.On the TV we have three differant ways for the tv to locate the router they are by scanning, the WPS button and by entering the WPS pin. We've tried all three and got the above message.
I am trying to use my computer running Windows XP Home to remote desktop into my computer running Windows 7 Ultimate over the internet.The computer I am trying to connect to is listening on port 3389, has all sort of firewall exceptions sorted and is enabled to accept remote connections. The computer I am trying to use to connect has no firewall currently (I have disabled it just to get this working).
And yet when I try and connect using the ip address of the host computer I receive the message "remote desktop cannot connect to the remote computer for one of the following reasons"... and so on.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently got a (new) Dell Inspiron 570 desktop. It didn't come with a wireless adapter, so I picked up a (new) TP-Link TL-WN781ND Wireless N PCIe adapter. Easy installation, worked immediately. Connection's not perfect, but I get 3 bars from across a house so it's about what I expected.Unfortunately, every little bit the connection drops. Sometimes it comes back within seconds, sometimes it lasts for several minutes; sometimes I won't notice it happening for hours, sometimes it drops every few seconds. There are two other computers on the network that don't suffer connection issues, and I've been able to test with my iPod that it's still connected at the same moment as my Dell is not.I tried updating the driver automatically, which oddly enough installed the driver for an Atheros AR9285, a different wireless adapter; and although everything seemed to still be working I gave it long enough to make sure the problem was still there and downloaded the correct driver from TP-Link's site, which didn't fix it either.
